00:00Looking at Everton and the Freaking Group takeover, now obviously it's no secret that
00:06there will be some sort of rebuild in the summer. They've got the new stadium built
00:11as well. Exciting times ahead, you'd think, for Everton as a club and a fan base as well.
00:17What are the main challenges that the Freaking Group face, having to come into this side
00:22and really just completely start a fresh slate for Everton? They want to completely forget
00:29about the last four or five years in the Premier League and continue to try and get
00:34back to where they were ten years ago, for example.
00:37Yeah, there's going to be an overhaul in terms of the squad. I think there's 12 players
00:43out of contract, including loan players. There's decisions to be made on Dominic Calvert-Lewin
00:50looks like he's going to be departing. Ashley Young's played a lot this season but he's
00:55going to be 39. Seamus Coleman, Michael Keane, players of that ilk really. There's going
01:00to be, I'd like to call another one, there's going to be significant changes. Idrissa Garnaghey
01:05as well, who's played a lot. As I say, significant changes that the Freaking Group are going
01:11to have.
01:12But you could say that's a good thing because they are getting a clean slate. They're not
01:15coming in and having to inherit a squad where players are on big contracts and they're unable
01:22to offload. That's been Evan's problem for a few years now. They might not have that
01:28issue because they can say goodbye to a lot of players if they wish and think, right,
01:34we want to get a new squad in, we want to start afresh. That's an opportunity that they
01:42might be able to take. Of course, it's not just the squad that they might look to overhaul.
01:48John Deitch is into the last year of his contract. Is he going to get a new deal or
01:56are Evan going to say, thanks very much, you've kept us in the Premier League, we appreciate
02:01all of your service, but we're looking to go down a different route in the same. I think
02:05we discussed a couple of weeks ago about the director of football, Kevin Falwell, as well
02:08because I think he's had to deal in difficult circumstances, not a lot of money to spend
02:15but there have been some pretty poor buys in there as well. But it's been difficult
02:22in the circumstances that he's inherited, so I think the freeking group, look, they're
02:28coming in at a good time. The PSR situation is fantastic if you do want to hit the ground
02:36running. Evan are going to have to negotiate that a little bit again, but they've got a
02:40chance to put their own stamp on things, get new players in, maybe get a new manager
02:46in, maybe a new director of football, see what direction they go down and start afresh
02:52at a brand new stadium.
