00:00 It looks like you're trying a few new combinations and you were low on numbers today.
00:03 Yeah, yeah.
00:04 Well, we actually only have the eight in our A grade team, but it allows room for our junior
00:08 girls and our other girls in our other grades to come through.
00:11 So we did have our eight today, but I did try different combinations.
00:16 Sometimes you can kind of do that.
00:17 So it was nice to put Ed Porter, one of our younger girls, into goals for a half and then
00:21 to bring Poppy out into the midcourt.
00:22 Well, I was going to say that was obviously, that was the obvious change that I could see
00:25 that was different.
00:26 Yeah, usually it's pops and mads in the ring.
00:27 But today we could actually pop Ed out there and just rotate a few of the midcourts around
00:32 as well.
00:33 So as I say, it was just good to try different combinations and it does take a little while
00:36 to settle, but because we were a few goals up, we could kind of do that.
00:40 And I thought the girls adapted well.
00:41 Well, yeah, you were 15 up at halftime, you've won by 19.
00:43 So you're able to give yourself that opportunity.
00:46 Yeah, that's right.
00:47 And like, you know, like sometimes it's, you just got to kind of use those games to work
00:51 on those different concepts and then we can kind of come back to it at training and see
00:53 what worked and what didn't work.
00:55 And as I say, it never hurts to have a few different combinations up your sleeve if things
00:58 aren't working on the day.
00:59 So yeah.
01:00 What did work for you today, do you think?
01:02 I thought defensively, we really shut down Sebastian, that attack end.
01:06 That was one of our game plans.
01:07 They're quite a quick, fast moving from like the transverse to the ring.
01:11 So we really worked on, you know, shutting down that to allow our defenders to get those
01:14 intercepts and I thought Shannon and Keely really did a good job in there, putting the
01:18 pressure on and stopping them through there.
01:20 And I also thought we really tried to work on our transition from defence to attack and
01:24 I thought, yeah, running that through and using the middle channel worked really well
01:27 today.
01:28 Where do you think you guys are at?
01:29 Three, one and one.
01:30 Obviously a narrow, Larry lost to Darlie a draw with Sunbury.
01:33 Yeah.
01:34 Are you okay with where you're at?
01:35 Yeah, well we looked at the, probably, we had probably one of the harder draws at the
01:39 start of the season and we knew that coming in.
01:42 And with the new look team this year, we always knew it would take us a few games to kind
01:45 of get our, I guess our rhythm and yeah, our systems in place.
01:49 So I think dropping those two games by a draw and a goal, you know, we're still really
01:54 happy where we're kind of progressing.
01:56 And I guess they say you can't win, you know, a grand final in the first half of the season.
01:59 So as long as we keep improving throughout the rest of the, rest of the season, I think,
02:03 yeah, we're setting ourself up hopefully for a good half of the second end of it.
02:07 And quickly just on Annie as well, do you think she'd be happy with what she saw today?
02:10 I hope so.
02:11 Yeah.
02:12 Yeah.
02:13 I think, I think she'll probably be happy with the first half and we probably, you know,
02:15 the second half, like you can't, it can happen like that.
02:17 There was a few giggles out there and a few, you know, funny passes, but I think she's
02:21 happy.
02:22 Yeah.
02:23 I think if we can kind of keep ticking along, getting a few wins under our belt and then
02:27 Annie can come back and take over hopefully in about four weeks.
02:30 And I'm sure by then everyone will lift another gear once she gets back and yeah, we'll hopefully
02:34 be in good stead then.
02:35 Thanks Saisley.
