Darley coach Di McCormack after the preliminary final win over North Ballarat
Transcript
00:00It's a long time coming, how proud are you of these girls that they've gotten over the top of North Ballarat in the big final?
00:05I'm actually quite moved by it actually, it's fantastic.
00:10You know, we were six goals down early on and to stay composed and to fight,
00:15and it's a physical game between both of us, you know.
00:18It's a hard game, terrible conditions for both teams, but you know, we settled in and they won today.
00:26Well, 32 all with a couple of minutes to go.
00:29Your defensive end, those last three or four minutes, they did not let anything in.
00:34No, they didn't and just the pressure and just changing how we were defending on them,
00:39which I asked them to do earlier and they sort of copped on to it, it was quite good.
00:43But even like the ones we got, we were struggling early on to get through the mid-court
00:48and then we settled and we started just being more patient.
00:53The North are a bloody hard team, you know.
00:56It's nice to actually get to the big day again and see what we can do.
01:00And well, you saw the sun breaking off last week.
01:02I mean, it was only one or two goals, a couple of little passes here and there and anything's possible.
01:06Last week was a game of moments, so hopefully the moments go our way this time around and not their way.
01:11And I think the girls coming off this win going into that grand final feel pretty comfortable.
01:16What does this mean for the club to be given another chance at that elusive title
01:21that you've desperately wanted for so many years?
01:23I mean, I think it'll be the biggest thing that's happened for the netball side for a very long time.
01:28To be pipped by one last season and then to have to go and watch the boys win.
01:33As much as we were happy for them, it would have been so great if it hadn't been both of us to get through.
01:39So hopefully the boys are doing well enough over there and we go in and this year it goes our way.
01:45I won't cry.
