00:00Three schools, an early year centre, two football ovals, two netball courts.
00:05This is just some of the infrastructure that we need in Ballarat's west.
00:08This is a map of Ballarat and we have over here
00:12all the different growth zones. So this blue one over here
00:15is the west growth zone which is where we're seeing houses in Winter Valley and
00:19Alfredton. The next piece of the puzzle is
00:22infrastructure. This red line here is Ballarat-Carnham
00:26Road which this part of the road needs to be
00:28duplicated to account for traffic. Looks small on the map but that
00:33duplication is going to cost the state about $80 million.
00:37We can also see we have a new school site,
00:41potential school site, the existing community centre and early years hub
00:46and this yellow dot is the coals that we're expecting along with the shopping
00:50centre in early 2026. This one's a bit smaller,
00:54the big one is along Greenhelgs Road here
00:57which includes space for three schools, an early year centre.
01:01This activity zone is two football ovals, two netball courts
01:06and some play spaces as well as an indoor
01:09leisure centre. And then as we move further down this is DTC
01:14and we'll see that this purple dot, the purple dots are
01:18projects that the City of Ballarat and other community groups like Committee
01:22for Ballarat, the University, Central Highlands Water,
01:25they will come together to advocate for towards the Federal Government ahead of
01:29the 2025 election. The purple dots are our priority
01:33projects. That one's the library, we need to
01:35acquire the land in DTC to build a Delacombe library
01:39and this is also the site of a priority school,
01:43this one's a primary school. Up here we see
01:46where the council wants to build a secondary school and this would be their
01:49preferred site for a primary school even though there are more primary
01:52schools in the precinct. And then here we have
01:56some really important drainage work. So before we can build houses in this area
02:01and I'll change the map so we can see
02:05what it looks like. We already have houses kind of out the back of DTC but
02:09this area is really people on acre properties. There's some
02:14really key drainage work and some key road works to be done
02:18before that will be full of houses. Once we've built all of this
02:22infrastructure we'll be looking to build more in the north to accommodate for all
02:28the growth happening in Ballarat.
