00:00 (upbeat music)
00:02 - Welcome to another episode of the Goldmouth Action Podcast
00:15 where we take a look at all the latest goings
00:16 on a Brighton, Hove Albion, Crawley Town
00:18 and sport in Sussex.
00:19 I'm Matt Poul and this week I'm joined by
00:21 Brighton, Hove Albion writer Darren Howard,
00:23 Sam Morton who covers both the Seagulls and Crawley Town
00:26 and Sussex sport guru Steve Bone.
00:29 Albion were beaten 3-0 at home by Premier League
00:31 title contenders Arsenal at the weekend,
00:32 leaving their European hopes well and truly in the balance.
00:36 We'll look back at the Seagulls games against the Gunners
00:37 and look ahead to Albion's visit to Burnley this weekend.
00:41 We'll also reflect on the week of highs and lows
00:42 for League Two player of contenders Crawley Town
00:45 and give you all the takeaways from Sussex opening game
00:48 of the 2024 County Championship campaign.
00:51 And you can read all the stories we are talking about
00:53 with videos and pictures online at

01:01 You may also be watching on latest TV
01:03 so thank you very much for tuning in.
01:06 As mentioned at the top of the podcast,
01:08 Brighton failed to defeat to Arsenal
01:09 with the Kai Osaka, Kai Havertz and ex-Albion favourite
01:12 Leandro Trossard all on target.
01:14 What did you make of that performance Sam?
01:17 In previous times you'd say that Brighton would stand
01:20 a chance against Arsenal but they've not had
01:21 the rub of the green against them this year, have they?
01:24 - Exactly that, it just shows how different this season was
01:26 from last season really, Matt.
01:28 Kind of summed up where Brighton are,
01:29 I think, in this moment in time.
01:31 You think last season Brighton secured a superb win
01:35 at the Emirates to pretty much stop Arsenal's title bid
01:39 and really strengthen their own ambitions
01:41 for European football.
01:44 And they could have maybe done a repeat of that this season
01:47 on another day but I don't think any of us were expecting,
01:50 I think we all predicted a defeat for Brighton, didn't we?
01:52 So it kind of went as expected
01:54 with a comfortable win for Arsenal
01:56 and they really did show what they're all about
01:58 and why they are competing for the Premier League
02:01 at the end of the day.
02:02 I think it was obviously a bit of a dubious penalty decision
02:05 that got things underway for them
02:07 with Tarek Lamptey bringing down Gabriel Jesus.
02:10 I personally didn't think it was a penalty.
02:11 I think he did get a touch of the ball
02:13 but he did take down the striker
02:16 kind of in the resulting actions.
02:18 I think, yeah, it probably was a foul to be honest.
02:21 And obviously it was an error that led to the second goal
02:24 from Julio Hincey, so giving the ball away
02:26 and then being punished for it pretty much instantly
02:29 with Havertz getting the goal from close range.
02:32 And the third goal, another mistake,
02:34 Pascal Gross giving it away with Brighton
02:36 looking for that consolation goal.
02:38 And former Seagull, Leandro Trossard,
02:40 made no mistake with the finish
02:42 and it was a bit of a sour taste,
02:46 a bitter pill to swallow with him
02:48 scoring the goal to seal the game.
02:50 It was obviously a great finish
02:51 and kind of showed what Brighton are missing really.
02:54 And he really has been a miss at Brighton since he's left.
02:58 But yeah, I think Brighton did have the chance to score.
03:00 They had a long shot from Hincey
03:01 so that was brilliantly saved by David Reier.
03:04 But they struggled to create many clear-cut chances
03:07 and that's a testament to how well-drilled Arsenal are,
03:10 how brilliant Saliba and Gabriel are
03:12 keeping quality players quiet.
03:15 And that's what they did
03:16 and made life really difficult for Brighton.
03:17 And I think Arteta did praise Brighton
03:19 for the way they made life difficult for Arsenal.
03:21 I think in the first 15 minutes,
03:23 Brighton did start well and you thought,
03:24 well, maybe they could nick an early goal
03:26 like they did at Liverpool.
03:27 But it wasn't to be.
03:29 On the day in Arsenal,
03:30 Arsenal ran out pretty much easy winners in the end.
03:33 - Well, Deservi and Brighton may have been praised
03:35 by Arteta and Klopp in recent weeks,
03:38 but a run of only three victories,
03:40 sorry, in their past 12 league games
03:41 have left Brighton's ambitions of repeating
03:43 last season's first qualification for European football
03:45 well and truly in the balance.
03:47 Deren, how would you rate Albion's
03:48 European qualification chances
03:50 with I think seven Premier League games remaining?
03:53 - Yeah, that's right.
03:54 Seven games to go, seven tough games to go as well.
03:58 And they're 10th in the table at the moment
03:59 and there's some decent teams above them as well,
04:02 all pushing for those European places.
04:06 So Brighton really needed to get off to a good start
04:08 after the international break,
04:10 but they came up against the Liverpool side,
04:13 a narrow 2-1 loss at Anfield was no disgrace.
04:16 They could have got their three points at Brentford,
04:19 but that was, again, that was a tough physical game
04:22 away at Brentford.
04:24 And so only one point really from their last three matches
04:28 since the international break,
04:29 it's really given them a bit of a setback to going in.
04:33 And they've got Burnley this Saturday,
04:35 then Man City, Bournemouth, Villa, Newcastle,
04:37 Chelsea and Man United.
04:38 So it's a tough run to go in,
04:43 but they're still in the battle for the European places.
04:47 And I think one thing that will work in their favour
04:49 is that there's no further distractions now,
04:52 there's no Europa League,
04:53 it's pretty much one game a week now
04:56 until the end of the season.
04:57 And last year, Brighton were quite good at that.
05:00 They can be really competitive
05:01 when they have a week to prepare.
05:04 So I think it's only the City-Bournemouth game,
05:06 which is a quick turnaround,
05:08 the home game against City and in a way at Bournemouth.
05:10 So as long as they don't have any more injuries,
05:14 if Jal Pedro can get back among the goals as well,
05:18 then they've got a chance,
05:20 but they really need three points against Burnley
05:23 to really get them going.
05:25 But there's encouraging signs,
05:26 Deservey still thinks there's a chance,
05:28 Pascal Gross was speaking today as well
05:31 about how he really thinks that there's still a chance
05:34 and they're hungry to get into Europe again next season.
05:37 So, yeah, fingers crossed, seven games to go,
05:40 but it will be tough.
05:42 - We'll come back to the Burnley game in a minute, Derham,
05:45 but writing for the BBC after the Arsenal loss,
05:47 Scott McCarthy, writer for Airbnb Fensight,
05:49 we have Brighton who also contributes
05:51 to Hassock's match reports for the Mid-Sassack Times,
05:53 said Brighton stood still this season
05:56 and pointed to the fact that the club has struggled
05:57 to fill the gaps left by Moises Caicedo and Alexis McAllister.
06:02 What do you make of Scott's comments, Sam?
06:04 Do you agree or disagree with it?
06:07 - I would agree, I think, in the sense
06:09 that they haven't been able to replace them
06:10 and that was the worry, wasn't it,
06:12 when they left at the beginning of the season.
06:14 Brighton obviously have made a name for themselves
06:16 in being able to replace talent at will,
06:19 bringing players on the cheap
06:20 and they end up being superstars
06:22 and they've done it so many times
06:23 and I don't think anyone expects them to recover
06:25 from the losses of Yves Bissouma and Mark Kukare,
06:27 but they did and there was hope that they would do the same
06:31 with McAllister and Caicedo,
06:32 but we always felt like with the quality of those players
06:35 and as we've seen, especially with McAllister,
06:37 who's just been brilliant for Liverpool
06:40 and really, really shown what Brighton have missed with him
06:43 and you really never know what they could have achieved
06:45 if he was still in that midfield, really.
06:48 And obviously they brought in Carlos Baleba
06:52 as kind of a direct replacement for Caicedo
06:54 and he's taken a bit of time to settle in
06:56 and he's not really had a run of games
06:59 probably until William Gilmore was injured, really,
07:02 and that's really the time that he's come in
07:03 and really started to have a run of games.
07:05 He's obviously been playing alongside Jakub Moda,
07:07 who himself didn't have a run of games
07:09 because of how long he was out for.
07:11 So there's been difficulties in that sense.
07:13 Obviously Billy Gilmore's been brilliant
07:15 and he's really come into his own this season.
07:17 And Pascal Gross has played alongside him
07:19 and he's obviously been excellent as well.
07:21 But it does seem like there's just been something missing
07:24 and you hope that as these players progress
07:26 and gel together, mainly I think Carlos Baleba,
07:29 and hopefully we can see more from him next season,
07:32 you never know who might be signed as well
07:33 to bolster those positions.
07:37 But I think, yeah, it's not worked out as Brian would have liked
07:40 and with the additional games that they've had to contend with,
07:43 it really hasn't gone to plan in that sense
07:45 and they've not been able to be as solid in the midfield
07:47 and as creative as they were last season.
07:51 But I think you look at other things as well,
07:53 like Evan Ferguson's not been in the best of four.
07:57 It might be a bit of regret that they let Denis Ndev go
08:01 because really they've relied heavily on Jav Hedro
08:05 and when he's not been there, they've really noticed it.
08:08 And it was just a shame really that Evan Ferguson
08:11 and even Antti Fati that came in couldn't do a bit more
08:14 to step up in those players' absences.
08:16 So there's several factors at play.
08:19 But yeah, Brian definitely haven't probably got the most out of
08:23 the players that they have in kind of big moments
08:26 that they've obviously had in recent games.
08:29 But injuries have obviously not helped at all, have they?
08:31 Do you think when you consider the amount of players
08:34 they've had missing at the same time, at crucial moments,
08:36 and the fact that Jav Hedro was out for the biggest games
08:39 of the season at Roma, it's such a shame really.
08:42 And you never know what could have happened if he was there.
08:45 Absolutely.
08:46 Well, this Saturday it's Cs.
08:47 The C goals travel to second from bottom Burnley.
08:50 And you mentioned it with the running they've got there
08:53 and going towards the end of the season.
08:55 The three-pointer is a must for Brighton, isn't it?
08:57 I don't think there's any other way of looking at it
08:58 if they want to get into Europe next season.
09:00 If they want to get into Europe, yeah, it is a must.
09:03 And Burnley have actually been...
09:06 They've picked up a bit of late
09:07 and they've been showing some decent form.
09:09 Their loss to Everton last week was a really painful one.
09:13 They were just starting to get a bit of momentum,
09:15 putting in some encouraging displays,
09:17 and then they were pegged back at Everton,
09:18 which was tough for them.
09:21 And it's going to be tough for them
09:23 to now come out of the relegation zone,
09:25 but there's still a chance for them.
09:26 And you get the feeling that Vincent Kompany's team
09:29 are going to be still up and fighting,
09:31 especially with the point deduction for Everton again this week.
09:34 That gave them sort of like a little glimmer of hope, perhaps,
09:37 that if they can get some results together,
09:40 they're still in with a fighting chance.
09:42 So, it's not going to be easy.
09:45 It's going to be quite a good atmosphere up there,
09:48 Burnley play some decent stuff.
09:50 So, Brighton are going to have to be well-prepared
09:53 and really on their game.
09:55 And I think what Sam was saying there about Moises Caicedo
09:58 and Alexis McAllister, against teams like Burnley,
10:02 with the squad that Brighton have,
10:05 you can get away with it against the teams
10:08 that Burnley, Bournemouth are there.
10:10 But when you really have to step up against the Man Cities
10:13 and the top teams at the Arsenal,
10:16 that's when that gap in class really shows.
10:20 But against Burnley, I think they're going to have enough
10:23 in their midfield to win the game, I think, at Turf Moor.
10:28 Very quickly, Sam, do you agree with Darren?
10:30 Yeah, absolutely, I do agree.
10:32 It's a must-win game.
10:33 I thought Brentford was a must-win game.
10:35 I fear that one will be looked back on as one of those
10:39 where they should have got the win.
10:40 There's been so many of those games this season,
10:42 and games where they've drawn where they should have got the win, really.
10:47 So, I fear that it's not a repeat of that.
10:49 But I think this one, yeah, if they don't get a result,
10:52 I think it probably is over.
10:53 I think when you look at the fact that Newcastle and West Ham
10:56 have picked up some wins lately, some late goals,
11:00 obviously there's a bit of controversy with West Ham one,
11:02 against Wolves.
11:03 But, yeah, I think it's a really difficult position
11:06 that Brighton find themselves in now
11:08 to be able to get into those European places.
11:10 And they need to get back on track with a confident
11:14 and hopefully high-scoring win at Burnley
11:16 to get the goals flowing again and the confidence going again.
11:19 And you never know what can happen.
11:20 But, yeah, I think they need to win that one.
11:23 Well, fingers crossed.
11:24 Thank you very much, chaps.
11:25 We're going to take a short break.
11:26 And when we come back, we're going to talk about
11:28 Crawley Town, Sussex and some Sussex non-league news.
11:32 This week started brilliantly for Crawley Town,
11:34 beating promotion-chasing Mansfield 4-1 away from home.
11:38 And by all accounts, Sam, the Reds looked like
11:40 they were simply irresistible against the Stags.
11:42 What did you make of that performance?
11:44 Absolutely phenomenal from Crawley, really.
11:47 As I think many people were expecting to go to Mansfield,
11:50 who were going for automatic promotion,
11:53 potentially winning League Two.
11:55 It was incredible, really.
12:07 They got off to such a great start with
12:08 Kevin Gordon getting his first goal for the club.
12:12 Nick Scharula, who's obviously been in and out of the team recently,
12:14 he's obviously a fan favourite, one of the best players in the team.
12:17 But due to the system that Scotland Indies played,
12:19 he's been on the substitutes bench quite a lot recently,
12:22 which has been surprising.
12:24 It's difficult to change things when you're winning, isn't it?
12:26 So I think the fact that he's back in the team is great
12:28 and he got a good goal.
12:29 And then Danilo Orsi has been brilliant this season,
12:32 as well as Clydie Lollos on the score sheet again.
12:36 He's been nominated for Player of the Month in League Two in March.
12:39 So he's had a really great season, especially over the last few months.
12:43 Well, we said at the top of the podcast,
12:44 it was a week of highs and lows for Crawley.
12:47 The Reds were then brought back down to earth on Tuesday night,
12:49 going down 4-1 to Wrexham, who sit second in League Two.
12:52 You watched the game, Sam.
12:54 What do you make of the performance?
12:55 I didn't watch the game, but I did see Wrexham's fourth goal
12:58 and they've, putting it politely, had a bit of a shocker there, haven't they, Crawley?
13:02 Yeah, it was a weird one, really,
13:04 because obviously, as I just said to Sam,
13:06 we're going into the game with such high confidence.
13:09 And I felt like the quick-fire goals from Barnett and Mullin,
13:15 the two goals within two minutes of each other after the 20-minute mark,
13:18 where, yeah, it just took the stuffing out of them.
13:21 And I don't think they were expecting it.
13:22 It was two sloppy goals to concede.
13:25 And I felt like they just didn't know.
13:28 Yeah, they just kind of looked shell-shocked, really.
13:30 And they never really looked like getting back into the game.
13:32 And they were kind of dominating possession, passing the ball around,
13:36 but never really looked like scoring.
13:37 So they didn't look like themselves at all.
13:39 There was that bit of a lack of intensity.
13:41 And maybe that's as a result of maybe the 4-1 win in Mansfield.
13:44 Maybe they just took it out of them,
13:45 because you can only imagine what went into that
13:49 and the work that went into that
13:51 and the performance that we saw was outstanding.
13:54 I think it was seen as a bit of a free hit,
13:55 and the win at Mansfield gave them that opportunity to go to Wrexham
13:58 and play with a little bit of freedom
14:02 and not as much pressure to get a result,
14:03 because when you look at the table, they're still favourites, to be honest.
14:07 It hasn't really impacted anything.
14:09 And they just need to keep winning the games against the teams below them.
14:15 Obviously, starting with Colchester at the weekend.
14:16 So obviously, it's a bit of a shame in the manner they conceded.
14:19 They conceded four goals and maybe even passed the goal difference,
14:22 which they'd done so well to bring up.
14:24 But at least they got that consolation goal to help that bit later on in the game.
14:27 So yeah, I wouldn't say any concern in it, really.
14:30 Just one of those off nights.
14:32 Well, you mentioned it there, Sam.
14:34 Crawley have another huge week ahead.
14:36 They take on relegation-threatened Colchester
14:39 and then host Barrow in a massive match in the race
14:42 for the playoffs on Tuesday night.
14:43 At the time of recording, the Cumbria outfits
14:46 sit one place and two points ahead of seventh-place Reds.
14:49 How do you see these two going?
14:51 Are these going to be two season-defining games?
14:53 It seems like we say that every time Crawley play, though.
14:56 Yeah, we're at that time of the season where every game is massive.
15:00 And Colchester is one that they've got to win.
15:03 I think Colchester have won just two games in the whole of 2024.
15:07 So they really are struggling.
15:09 And I think they've got a couple of games in hand,
15:10 but they are currently second from bottom
15:13 and a point behind Sutton.
15:16 So they will be desperate for points at the end of the day.
15:18 And that's never easy, to come up against a Team 5 for their life,
15:21 trying to keep their status in the Football League.
15:24 But I think Crawley have got to show what they're about,
15:27 show why they're competing for a playoff place
15:28 and get the win.
15:30 They really need to keep going,
15:34 keep the fight up for the playoffs,
15:35 because, as you say, next up is Barrow,
15:37 and Barrow are just two points above them.
15:40 And Barrow actually have a game in hand on Crawley at the moment.
15:42 So they're in a very strong position for the playoffs.
15:45 And that's a really exciting game to look forward to, really.
15:49 And I just hope that Crawley can find their best form
15:52 against two teams with different fortunes in the league
15:54 and can get two valuable wins or four points would be great as well.
15:59 Best of luck to the Reds this week.
16:01 Meanwhile, moving on to another league,
16:03 the Sussex FA have confirmed the day and venue
16:05 for this year's Sussex Senior Cup final.
16:07 Portia and Hastings United will meet at Bryan's Amex Stadium
16:10 on the 8th of May, which is a Wednesday.
16:13 But the choice of date has caused a bit of a stir, hasn't it, Steve?
16:16 It's safe to say.
16:17 Tell us a little bit more about this situation.
16:20 It has, because it's two...
16:24 I don't think anyone realised this until the day was announced,
16:26 but the Sussex Senior Cup final will be two days
16:29 after the Isthmian League Premier Division playoff final.
16:34 That is going to take place on Monday, the 6th of May.
16:36 And as we speak now, both Hastings and Horsham,
16:41 the two sides who are in the cup final,
16:44 either or both of them could be in that playoff final as well,
16:46 because they both had very good seasons in the Isthmian Premier.
16:49 So you could have a situation where one or both of those teams
16:52 is playing their two biggest games of the season
16:55 a little more than 48 hours apart.
16:59 It's not deliberate, obviously.
17:02 I think this partly comes from the fact
17:05 that the Sussex FA like to hold the final at the Amex.
17:09 And generally, I think clubs and fans like it being there
17:11 because there's a bit of prestige involved.
17:15 But it comes down to when Brighton can fit it in.
17:19 So Brighton will have given the Sussex FA...
17:21 I don't quite know how it works,
17:22 whether they gave the Sussex FA a choice of dates.
17:25 I'm not sure. They may just have given them one date and said,
17:28 "This is when you can have the ground for the Sussex Senior Cup final.
17:32 Sort of take it or leave it, if you like."
17:34 And that's what the Sussex FA are working on.
17:38 I spoke to Chris Agatha at Hastings yesterday.
17:41 He didn't seem too worried about it.
17:43 I mean, we should say that neither Hastings nor Horsham
17:46 are assuming they're going to be in the playoff final.
17:48 But obviously, it's a possibility at the moment.
17:50 More likely for Horsham than for Hastings.
17:53 But Chris Agatha's view was it's important to have the cup final at the Amex
17:57 because it is such an event for players, fans, management,
18:01 who wouldn't normally get to play or see their team in their surroundings.
18:07 And he says, "If that's the date it's on, that's the date it's on.
18:10 We'll get on with it."
18:11 They've got a number of players cup tied anyway.
18:14 So they'd probably have to change their team around a little bit anyway.
18:17 Horsham, I'm sure...
18:18 Horsham, as you know, have had such a long season,
18:21 a lot of games, a lot of cup competitions.
18:24 You know, they will be hoping...
18:26 I mean, they'll be hoping to be in the playoff final, obviously,
18:28 but they'll be hoping that if they're in both,
18:31 the cup final doesn't prove one game too far.
18:34 But it's one to look forward to.
18:36 And maybe we'll have two games that week to look forward to in Sussex as well.
18:39 Absolutely. And we'll talk about that more on the Sussex Non-League Podcast,
18:42 won't we, Steve, next week, which we're both looking forward to doing.
18:47 Great little segue and a great plug, Steve.
18:50 The Westleigh Bandit.
18:51 Absolutely.
18:53 Finally, Sussex kicked off their County Championship Division 2 campaign
18:56 last week at home to Northamptonshire.
18:59 How did Sussex get on in their cut and razor, Steve?
19:01 And what were the key takeaways from the opening fixture?
19:04 Well, the headline is Sussex are top of the table at the moment,
19:08 top of Division 2 after one game.
19:10 Admittedly, none of the eight teams in the Division 1 were lost.
19:14 They all drew, but Sussex picked up 15 bonus points
19:17 and are therefore top of the pile.
19:18 Doesn't mean too much after one game,
19:20 but generally a positive start to the season for Sussex.
19:23 Actually, they had much the better of the game against Northamptonshire,
19:26 who were just down from Division 1 last year.
19:29 I think most people would think if we'd had a full four days
19:33 or if we hadn't lost about 100 overs in total to the weather,
19:37 Sussex would probably have won because they were in a very good position
19:39 when the sort of weather closed in again on the final day.
19:43 Bold Northamptonshire once had them nine down in the second innings
19:46 and scored almost 500 runs in between.
19:49 Number of good individual performances.
19:53 With the bat, Tom Haines got his first four-day tonne since 2022.
19:59 There were some good half-centuries as well
20:00 from the likes of Finn Hudson-Prentice, James Coles, Jack Carson,
20:04 showing that Sussex have good batting strength this year, seemingly.
20:09 And the wickets were shared around as well.
20:10 Jadon Seals is over from the West Indies for much of the season.
20:14 He bowled very well.
20:16 Ollie Robinson weighed in with a few wickets.
20:18 Sussex will be hoping he's with them for more of the season
20:21 than normal, perhaps.
20:23 Depends on England commitments, of course.
20:26 And Coles, as well as scoring a few runs,
20:28 weighed in with some wickets as well.
20:30 So, promising start.
20:31 Doesn't mean too much yet.
20:32 You know, Paul Farbrace will be wanting to turn these draws into wins.
20:36 But a positive start.
20:38 They go to Leicestershire for their second game starting tomorrow, Friday.
20:43 So, that will be the next test of, you know,
20:46 how much potential they've got this season.
20:49 Best of luck to Sussex.
20:50 As always, we'll finish off with score predictions,
20:53 starting with Brian Burnley on Saturday.
20:56 Deron, how do you see that one going?
20:58 I think a 3-1 to Brighton.
21:00 I'm confident they can get back on track at Burnley.
21:04 So, yeah, 3-1. 3-1.
21:06 You share Deron's confidence, Sam?
21:09 Yeah, I think it'll be a win.
21:10 I think it might be a little bit closer, a little bit more cagey.
21:12 I'll go for a 2-1 win for Brighton.
21:15 And Steve, how do you see that one going?
21:17 And what are your feelings on Burnley?
21:20 I know you're expecting me to say I don't like Burnley much.
21:23 I say that most weeks.
21:25 I don't mind Burnley.
21:26 I've got nothing against them, actually.
21:28 But I do think that defeat against Everton,
21:31 I just think they might...
21:32 You know, you look at the table, they can't afford to lose them anymore.
21:35 But I think they're gone with Sheffield United, really.
21:38 And I'm going to go for a 4-2 Brighton win.
21:41 Well, moving to League Two, Crawley, you're at home to Colchester Saturday.
21:45 Sam, how do you see that one going?
21:48 Yeah, it's a tough one, isn't it?
21:50 Yeah, as I say, Colchester are fighting for their lives.
21:52 It's going to be probably a bit scrappy, a bit cagey.
21:55 But I'm going to go with a 1-0 win for Crawley.
21:58 Ooh, Steve, how do you see it going?
22:01 I think they're going to drop points in this one.
22:03 Crawley are so unpredictable.
22:04 They win the games you don't expect them to.
22:06 They don't win the games you expect them to.
22:08 So I'm going to go 1-1.
22:11 And, Deron, which two hands are Colchester and Barrow...
22:14 How do you see them both going for the Reds?
22:17 So I'll say against Colchester, I think that...
22:19 Is it Danny Cowley, the old Portsmouth manager?
22:21 He's there now.
22:22 Yeah, I think...
22:24 Yeah, I'm going to go for 1-0 for Colchester for that one.
22:26 I think they're just coming up a little bit.
22:29 And then a draw.
22:31 Do you say Barrow, Barrow-Knits?
22:33 They're at home to Barrow Tuesday.
22:34 Home to Barrow.
22:35 And, yeah, three points against Barrow.
22:37 So I'll go for a 2-0 against Barrow.
22:40 Oh, excellent.
22:41 And not 3-0.
22:42 Six-point win, Sam. Is that what we're going for?
22:44 Mm-hm.
22:45 I think a draw against Barrow, yeah.
22:47 They'll beat Colchester and Barrow will be a 1-0 draw, I think.
22:51 And finally, Steve, how do you see that one going?
22:53 I'm going for a 4-1 cruelly win against Barrow.
22:56 We'll put one foot in the play-offs.
22:59 And any thoughts or feelings on Colchester or Barrow?
23:01 I can't imagine you've got much to say about Barrow.
23:04 I've never really encountered...
23:06 Too early to say with Barrow.
23:07 I've never encountered Barrow and Colchester, I don't really mind.
23:10 So, sorry, there's no dislike from me for any teams this week.
23:13 I'll do better next week.
23:15 Yeah, Colchester's had a bad run.
23:17 Colchester famously stopped Crawley from progressing
23:19 in the Carabao Cup a couple of years ago, didn't they?
23:22 Where they would have played Man United.
23:23 So I think... Yes.
23:24 ..maybe a little bit of...
23:26 I think your wife would have done really well at that time.
23:28 Yeah.
23:30 Excellent stuff.
