00:00 Fatigue in farming is extremely common.
00:03 When I'm fatigued, my decision making is impaired, my reaction time, you know,
00:08 it just increases the risk for mistakes to happen so much more.
00:11 We do some pretty intensive manual labour, you know,
00:13 whether it's spending all day in the shearing shed,
00:16 spending all day with stock,
00:17 and it can span over to spending long days in the tractor.
00:20 Sitting down and heavy machinery for long hours of the day,
00:25 although it's not physically demanding, it's incredibly mentally demanding,
00:29 I've found that trying to stick to a routine,
00:32 trying to do a set amount of hectares each day or hours each day
00:36 so that we don't burn the candle at both ends is really good.
00:39 When I'm feeling fatigued, if I'm working by myself,
00:41 I can just take five, I can have a stretch, I can have a drink of water,
00:45 I can, you know, if I'm working with a team or a group,
00:48 I can just, you know, give someone a ring and check in with someone,
00:51 especially during those peak times, again, like harvest,
00:54 we've really got each other's backs, our communication's really good,
00:57 trying to look after each other and letting each other know
01:00 how we're feeling, how much more we want to do.
01:02 Take it easy, take your time, do the job properly,
01:05 and don't damage anything.
01:07 Don't cause yourself heaps of unnecessary costs
01:09 or injure yourself or others.
