00:00 From calum door to collectible figure, here's a look at the McFarlane Toys World of Warcraft
00:05 Orc Warrior and Orc Shaman.
00:27 The Orcs once lived as shamanic clans on the lush world of Draenor.
00:30 Corrupted by Kil'jaeden, the demon lord of the Burning Legion, they invaded the world
00:34 of Azeroth, eventually able to free themselves from demonic influences.
00:38 The Orcs settled on Kilimdor, erecting their great capital Orgrimmar, from where they fight
00:43 to find their place in the world they once came to conquer.
00:47 Just before we get a closer look at the World of Warcraft Orc Warrior, let me go ahead and
00:51 grab the tape measure and see how tall the figure stands.
00:54 While I'm doing this, I'd like to thank the folks over at McFarlane Toys that did provide
00:57 this sample of the Orc Warrior that we can have a look at in this review.
01:00 These World of Warcraft figures should now start popping up in retail stores and online,
01:05 so if you're a big fan of World of Warcraft and would like to get your hands on these
01:08 for yourself, they should be available right now.
01:11 Normally I would measure to the top of the figure's head, but concerning that the Orc's
01:14 head stops here and his hand continues over here, it probably would make the most sense
01:18 to measure the hand as being the highest thing on the figure.
01:21 You can also as well give him some weapons to wield, but for right now at least, the
01:24 Orc Warrior stands about 6 inches in height, or it's going to be about 15 centimeters
01:29 tall.
01:30 Not having any World of Warcraft figures to compare with this one yet, I'm going to actually
01:34 slide this one over and I'm going to bring in something not quite of the same similar
01:38 size, because the landslide druid is quite a lot taller, but a very similar style of
01:43 collectible that McFarlane Team has been doing.
01:45 Here's what the Orc Warrior though looks like from the World of Warcraft.
01:49 Here's what he looks like though with the Diablo IV landslide druid.
01:53 I seem to be getting all tongue tied jumping between the two McFarlane lines.
01:57 One thing that also this line shares along with the Diablo IV is the fact that the figures
02:01 come included with both stickers and a mystery item inside of a foil bag.
02:05 The mystery stickers aren't so much of a mystery, I mean you pretty much see this one when you
02:10 first take these out from the tray, but then all the ones revealed underneath, this one
02:14 is my favorite of the three.
02:15 I just really like the way that they've designed this, it looks like it's got some chains on
02:19 the side, some fire behind it, and it almost looks to be like a wolf's head on the front.
02:24 The stickers though are very similar in size, in fact they're the exact same size as the
02:27 ones we got from Diablo IV, and they peel off the exact same way.
02:31 The only thing about it though is because they're always going to be cut in a rectangle
02:34 like this, they take up a lot more real estate space than if they were able to find a way
02:38 to cut only around the sticker itself.
02:40 I mean I would be only really interested in this part of the sticker, maybe outlining
02:44 it just enough in black to give it a black border.
02:46 I don't need necessarily all of this.
02:48 I've been tempted in fact to actually put these inside of my sticker books and maybe
02:52 just cut these out first, instead of actually putting the entire thing in, because again
02:56 if you've got well three of these, you get three of these first of all with the Orc.
03:00 Imagine how much space they'll take up right away, if you have one page they'll literally
03:03 take up three quarters of that page with only really one space down below for another sticker.
03:08 We move this to the side, the figure also comes included with the blind bag.
03:11 The blind bag, I don't know what's inside yet.
03:14 It seems to be a weapon, so we're going to go ahead and just, where's the perforations
03:18 just over here, let's just rip that open, dumping out the contents.
03:22 Oh, we have a really interesting looking sword.
03:25 I would imagine this is very similar to the Diablo 4 figures.
03:28 I had it in those reviews said that perhaps that these weapons are going to be the exact
03:32 same, so like if for example you got the landslide druid, every single landslide druid that you
03:35 would have had would have had all the same accessories.
03:38 I did actually have a couple of reviewers, a couple of viewers down below in the comment
03:41 section, did in fact tell me that they had picked up figures and they had different accessories
03:45 inside.
03:46 Perhaps that is also the same case as well when it comes to like the World of Warcraft
03:49 figures, maybe like the Orc is going to have different weapons.
03:52 If you happen to have picked up this figure, let me know if you have this similar sword.
03:56 The detailing though for the sword, first of all it's a very broad blade.
04:00 It also has this really cool scripture here on the front and on the back, as you can see
04:04 they've also painted in all those crevice areas with a really nice bright green.
04:08 This can be wielded in his hands, he does have technically two gripping hands, although
04:12 the hands and the plastic that they used is very rigid, so you may have to in fact actually
04:16 take a bath first, not you, not you, but the figure may have to take a hot water bath in
04:21 order to accommodate these weapons.
04:22 I'm going to move this just over here to the side.
04:24 The other weapons actually that you can wield is a really menacing looking axe.
04:29 First of all I love the way that they've airbrushed this.
04:31 I would imagine that this is something that's supposed to glow by the fact that they did
04:34 paint this off to the side.
04:35 I can't imagine that the person that was painting this was painting this with their
04:37 eyes closed and just whoops, missed over the orb all together and painted this section
04:42 here.
04:43 I think it's supposed to be like that, supposed to look like it's actually glowing and this
04:47 can also fit in his hand as well.
04:49 The figure lastly comes in clear, at least for weapons, a really interesting looking
04:53 hammer.
04:54 I don't know if this would, I guess it would be a hammer wouldn't it?
04:56 I mean it's sculpted on the sides, you can see there's the wolf motif and it also has
05:01 some decent decorative details on the top.
05:04 Mostly molded here in a really shiny gunmetal silver.
05:07 The ends are actually not as quite as shiny but they've got some really interesting little
05:11 indentations and just wear and tear to them.
05:14 The actual handle is really interesting as well, the way they've sculpted this.
05:17 This probably would be the only part on this that actually has been painted.
05:20 As you can see they wrapped it nicely in a burgundy red.
05:24 Painting is a little bit on the bent side unfortunately.
05:26 One thing that also is an easy thing to do is actually put it into this hand here.
05:31 This hand is only more just difficult by the type of plastic that they ended up using but
05:35 this hand doesn't seem to be one that removes so you have to kind of shimmy.
05:39 Well, you know, we'll talk about more of that in a moment.
05:42 The figure also comes included with a gestured hand.
05:44 It looks like something like, it looks like the Hulk in fact is actually reaching towards
05:48 you.
05:49 Really nice sculpted hand though.
05:51 Doesn't have unfortunately any nails on it, at least that I can see.
05:54 Well, maybe it does.
05:55 I can see, yeah, there's the nails right there but they haven't been obviously painted at
05:58 all other than just the molded green plastic.
06:01 Changing out the hands by the way, this hand is only going to go on this side.
06:04 First of all, thumbsies go in and also because it doesn't look like, once again, this is
06:08 a hand that removes at all.
06:11 Undetaching the hand is just a case of removing from the peg, taking them the longer peg and
06:15 doweling it inside the sleeve so you can get a gestured hand instead.
06:20 Back of the packaging by the way, when it comes to displaying these figures, the shaman
06:23 seems to then have this hand, not that it really matters, but seems to have this hand
06:27 in the image and is wielding then the hammer on this side while the warrior is actually
06:31 carrying around the axe on this hand.
06:33 Again, not that it really matters.
06:35 If it does though matter for you, you can certainly follow the back of the instructions
06:38 or the back of the packaging for further instructions.
06:40 But to show you what it looks like with the axe in his hand, I had to once again heat
06:44 the hands in hot water just because again like the plastic, the plastic for these hands
06:49 is so unforgiving.
06:50 I'm going to just go ahead and take the axe as best as I can now get it because unfortunately
06:55 with the time that, you know what, these shoulder pads are also something that come off.
06:59 If you want to have it as a warrior, then you keep basically the shoulder pads as you
07:02 see right now.
07:03 If you though wanted to swap this over to the shaman, these shoulder pads will then
07:07 pop off and then will replace with the ones that you may not be able to see.
07:11 That's just down here right now.
07:12 I'm going to remove these for just at least right now.
07:14 They detach, but unfortunately the first time you detach them, every time after that, they
07:19 seem like they always fall off or I'm also just always banging them.
07:23 Let's go ahead and take the hand off for right now.
07:26 I did again, I heated these hands, but with the course of the time that's now elapsed,
07:30 I should really always have myself on the ready an extra pair of hot, like an extra
07:34 cup of hot water just off to the side so I can quickly submerge it again before I get
07:39 a hit record.
07:41 Taking the axe, let's not attach the axe by his sleeve.
07:43 There we go.
07:44 And you can have then the warrior, let's go ahead and get the extra shoulder pieces
07:47 back on.
07:48 They just plug in place.
07:50 If you're looking at them, by the way, they have a very unique peg.
07:52 So obviously you can't take, if you were to take this shoulder pad, for example, first
07:56 of all, it does say L, the other one says R, but you also see as well, like the pegs
07:59 are completely different.
08:00 So there's no way that you can put this shoulder pad, which is strange really, because I would
08:04 imagine that like they don't look any bit different.
08:06 If I can just hold the two up, they look like they're exactly the same.
08:11 Maybe as one is a little bit more curved, the other one's a little bit more, I don't
08:14 know.
08:15 I don't know.
08:16 They look to be the same.
08:17 They just use the same peg, but you can kind of see as well, like there clearly is an R,
08:21 there clearly is an L so that you have to basically follow those.
08:25 Those just plug in place like that.
08:27 Make sure of course you got them facing the right way.
08:28 Those plug in place like that.
08:29 And now you've got yourself the Orc warrior.
08:32 If the off chance is that you want to have this instead displayed like the warrior or
08:35 the shaman, what you're going to do then instead is you're going to swap those shoulders we
08:39 just finished having a look at with these ones instead.
08:43 Not knowing too much really about World of Warcraft, I think I would probably more geared
08:46 towards displaying this figure as the warrior.
08:49 But though if you like the idea of having this display with the shaman with what I feel
08:52 to be the much cooler looking shoulder pads, there's this option also available as well.
08:56 And these are just a case again, we'll remove the axe right now, just because again, like
09:00 on the back of the packaging, they have the shaman really wielding the hammer and then
09:04 we're just going to remove these also as well.
09:06 To swap these out, just a case, lining of course the shapes up, they can only go again
09:10 one way.
09:11 That plugs in place on the one side, just making sure of course I got it facing the
09:14 right way.
09:15 Do I have it facing the right way?
09:16 I don't know if I'm facing the right way.
09:18 Plugging those in place, this is actually, these shoulder pads seem to sit a little bit
09:21 better for I don't know why, whatever reason it may be.
09:24 I seem to have a harder time attaching these.
09:26 I can't quite ever really line this one up.
09:29 Done it now three, four times.
09:30 I never quite get the angle properly.
09:33 But once that's in place, then you can take yourself the hammer and the hammer, once again
09:37 like this hand, I mean really if you wanted to, you could have the hammer up here also
09:40 as well.
09:41 But it really does give you the option that if you wanted to have the hammer, you can
09:44 have it displayed down here.
09:45 But once again, you'll have to tuck it underneath because it doesn't look like, from what I
09:49 can see, like I've tried to move this around and it doesn't look like the hand really wants
09:54 to free itself.
09:55 It's really strange really because if they had made the effort to make this hand removable,
09:59 obviously this is one that's going to be swapped out.
10:01 Why couldn't they have done something similar down here?
10:03 Even if it's not going to be swapped out with another hand, just so it's going to be a little
10:06 bit easier to attach the weapon.
10:08 Basically that will then fit inside between the thumb and the fingers.
10:11 I know the plastic is already cooled too quickly.
10:13 I'm going to be able to do it right now, but probably do that though in final looks.
10:18 Looking though at the figure, whether you decide you want to display the figure though
10:21 as the shaman or as the warrior, either way the colors are really nicely done here.
10:26 Now with the actual orcs, the orcs notable trait is the fact that they have these big
10:29 long kind of tusk teeth that stick out the thumbs of their lips.
10:33 I know obviously some of the orcs designs do change a little bit as well.
10:36 This one has really quite a lot of foliage down below here with the beard, a nice little
10:40 nose ring sticking out there as well.
10:42 Unfortunately, once again, these figures like the Diablo IV that we looked at before have
10:46 no articulation.
10:47 So basically what you're getting here with all these figures are basically just stachion
10:50 statues.
10:51 But even though for the fact that they limit the articulation points, they are really nice
10:55 looking statues to be putting on the shelf.
10:58 Again, for something so small like this, the attention to detail and the details though
11:02 are not messy at all.
11:04 You can see even the way they've painted the eyes.
11:06 Anything like this so small, you would imagine that there'd be paint problems and basically
11:11 marks across the front of his face where tiny little hands with tiny little paintbrushes
11:16 would have had to try to get in there.
11:17 I would imagine these are hand painted.
11:19 Perhaps they're also even painted by the factory, but either way, like paint on these guys are
11:23 really nicely done.
11:25 Spin this around so you guys can see it from all the sides.
11:27 The green is very bright, of course.
11:28 I will say though, like I think that the red shoulder pads complement the colors of the
11:32 green a little bit better than the purple.
11:35 The purple, I think it looks a little too busy.
11:37 But if you like the colors of Joker, of course, purples and greens, of course, purples and
11:41 greens always match really nicely together.
11:43 Big clunky boots down below here.
11:45 Again like the display stand isn't that much different really than the display stand.
11:49 Let's just reach off to the side here and grab in the landslide druid.
11:52 I mean, if anything, like Diablo 4 has a slightly bigger display stand, but the way that they're
11:57 attaching is exactly the same.
11:59 And also as well, when we're looking at the rest of the world of Warcraft, I can't tell
12:02 you whether the actual display stands are going to change between this figure and any
12:07 other figure that we're about to have a look at.
12:08 Really just because again, we're only looking at this figure first.
12:11 Again, there's no posability unfortunately on this guy.
12:13 So there's no head swivel, there's no arm swivel.
12:16 I mean, you could say if anything, the hands could swivel only by just the fact that only
12:19 by the virtue really, of the fact that you're going to be obviously detaching these and
12:23 swapping them out for the relaxed hand instead.
12:26 But again, for what it is, it's a nice looking figure.
12:29 I know I shouldn't really keep calling these guys figures.
12:32 I think if you were to look at the category of what these would be classed under, I think
12:36 there are in fact actually classed under action figure.
12:39 And even though they really aren't action figures, they're really more statues than
12:42 anything else.
12:43 I think McFarlane Toys has done a really nice job on these.
12:45 I know maybe perhaps World of Warcraft fans would definitely would want still fully articulated
12:50 figures.
12:51 Never know, that might be still something that McFarlane's team may consider to do
12:54 down the road.
12:55 Right now we're getting statues and they are nice looking statues to say the least.
12:58 Now I can't claim to know a lot about Orc shamans to tell you whether a shaman would
13:02 be carrying around a big bladed sword like this.
13:04 But concerning that this was a mystery bag item and I had to have the figure displayed
13:07 with this at some point.
13:09 Here in lines of course we've got the figure displayed here in final looks with both the
13:12 hammer in one hand and then the blade sword on the other.
13:15 The sword is easy enough to fit inside his hand.
13:18 It actually doesn't seem to be as awkward of a grip as perhaps the big axe that he had
13:22 from before.
13:23 I just wish unfortunately though with the other hand, literally on the other hand, that
13:26 the hand could be easily removed.
13:28 Sure enough the hand that he has extended out is no problem at all.
13:31 But the hand that he has closer to his body seems to still be permanently attached to
13:35 his arm.
13:36 I keep continuing to wiggle it back and forth hoping that finally that hand will free itself
13:40 but I think it's molded that way.
13:42 So it's going to be a little bit of a harder time for you at least to get him to wield
13:45 anything with that hand.
13:46 Of course you'll have to get down there and try to heat the hand as best you can because
13:50 once again the plastic that they're using on all these figures, and I keep calling them
13:53 figures, these statues, is a very hard variety.
13:56 Nice looking statue though.
13:58 I really like the way that the Orc warrior turned out.
14:00 Just traditionally thinking of Orcs though in World of Warcraft, I might beeline it back
14:04 to having the figure displayed with more of the red shoulder pads and the warrior, not
14:07 necessarily having him displayed like the shaman.
14:10 Have you had the chance to pick up this one for yourself?
14:12 Let me know down below in the comments section and considering if you did have this guy on
14:16 your shelf, do you have him currently displayed as a warrior or as a shaman?
14:20 Let me know if you can.
14:22 Big thank you once again to the folks over at McFarland Toys that did come through and
14:24 provide the sample of the brand new World of Warcraft Orc warrior/Orc shaman.
14:30 If you guys enjoyed this video, I want to hit it with a like.
