We went out onto the streets of Manchester to ask people on the street about pollution and air quality, and what the city was doing to combat it.

00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name is Theo Hewson-Berts and today I'm out in Manchester
00:03asking people about air quality and pollution and that's because in this city and in this region
00:07there's been a big push to get people to walk and cycle around the city centre rather than use cars
00:12to try and improve the air quality. We want to know if people have noticed some kind of difference
00:16whether they're worried about pollution here in the city and what areas they think are worst for
00:21that. Definitely worried about pollution both globally, country-wide and elsewhere city-wide.
00:27I'm from here but I live in London. I'll tell you London stinks. Manchester smells way way better
00:34than London but from what I can see and I do work in the transport industry what Andy's doing to the
00:43you know B network integrated transport network you know Tram's expanding has to happen. I know in like
00:50the bus fare a cap of two pounds probably encourages people to use buses rather than cars which was
00:56good. I think all in all the cities probably doing some things I'd like to see them do more.
