"Some of us may start our day by writing down one thing we're thankful for, snd I pray that even as we grieve that God teaches us to believe that joy is not gone forever - that we can hold on till the morning comes."Today, as we hold on to our hope, we hold on knowing this, that sorrow does not have the final say."

00:04Hello, my name is Nimsa Bungay and I'm the pastor of Freedom's Ark, a member of the Evangelical Alliance here in the Tottenham Town Hall.
00:14And I want to welcome you to today's reflection.
00:17It's taken from John chapter 16, verse 20, where Jesus says,
00:21Truly I say to you, that you shall weep and lament, the world will rejoice, and you will be sorrowful, but your soul will be turned into joy.
00:30The disciples were to suffer the pain of Good Friday, experience the relief of the resurrection.
00:36So as Jesus speaks of leaving, he promises them joy.
00:41So here's the promise, sorrow doesn't stay.
00:43Jesus says it will be turned to joy.
00:46Not removed, transformed.
00:48Le Quir put it in this way,
00:50Weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning.
00:53Not always instantly, but always faithfully.
00:56So what can we do as Christians?
00:58We let ourselves feel the sorrow, but we don't stop there.
01:03We look for moments of joy.
01:05Some of us may start our day by writing down one thing we're thankful for.
01:10And I pray that even as we grieve, that God teaches us to believe that joy is not gone forever.
01:15That we can hold on till the morning comes.
