00:00Let's move on to the polling. So the polling now, various different polls, including a recent NewGov one, is putting reform above 30%.
00:08And I think the magic number as far as reform is concerned is 31.5%.
00:13If the other two major parties fall down the polls, they don't need to have any pacts with the Tories.
00:18They can get a majority at the next general election.
00:21I mean, the figures at the moment, as they seem, Chris Philp, do point towards the Tories being eviscerated next time round.
00:30Don't they? Just be honest, on the basis of the locals.
00:34Look, those local elections the week before last were obviously very bad for us, but they were also very bad for Labour.
00:42Of course, just remember, we were defending a high point, right, because those elections, when they were last contested four years ago, we did unbelievably well.
00:48So we were measuring our performance against the high point.
00:52But look, people are frustrated about the last government.
00:55They're very angry with the Labour government, because they've put everyone's taxes up and lost control of our borders.
01:00And, you know, reform have benefited from that.
01:04But look, polls move around.
01:06Just remember, back in 2019, do you remember?
01:082019, I think the Brexit party, as it then was, won those European elections in about May or June of 2019.
01:14The Conservatives were down at about 10% or something like that.
01:18And just six months later, Boris won a landslide.
01:20So, look, there's everything to play for.
01:23We are fighting hard.
01:24And let me tell you the difference between us and reform.
01:26And it sort of follows on from my last answer.
01:29The difference between us and reform is that we are going to do the thinking to come up with the credible policies that can be implemented.
01:36You've made that point.
01:37Look, Nigel Farage, he's very charismatic.
01:39Hang on, he's very charismatic.
01:41He's got great slogans, but he doesn't have a plan.
01:43He wrote an article in the Mail, I think yesterday, where he threw out a whole load of ideas that would have cost like 50 or 60 billion pounds with no idea how to pay for them.
01:52We'll ask Richard Tice about reform's ideas.
01:54Now, that is not going to help anyone.
01:56Well, is there anything wrong with Liz Truss on steroids?
01:58You're now criticising Liz Truss.
02:00I'm just saying that you need to make promises either to cut taxes.
02:06I'm just making the point that if you're going to make promises to either cut taxes or increase expenditure, you need to have a proper plan, a credible plan to do that.
02:15And what Nigel Farage said in the Telegraph or the Mail yesterday wasn't credible.
02:22It was loads of promises that cost tens of billions of pounds without the first idea how to pay for them.
02:27The problem here is that even you as a conservative shadow minister are talking about Nigel Farage more than Kemi Badenoch.
02:35Everyone's just talking about Nigel Farage.
02:38No one's talking about your leader because she's not cutting through as much.
02:41To be fair, Camilla, you asked me a bunch of questions about reform and I answered them.
02:47And if I'd gone and talked about Kemi Badenoch, you'd have been the first to jump down my throat and tell me to answer the question.
02:53I don't jump down Chris Philp, I don't jump down anyone's throat.
02:57I just ask for straight questions and straight answers.
