00:00...corporated, presents a special attraction in the junior lightweight division.
00:04Judging at ringside for this bout, Carla Kais, Jack Reese, and Zachary Young.
00:11And our third man to the ring, the referee in charge is Ray Corona.
00:16Alright fans, here we go.
00:18Ten rounds of boxing scheduled, presenting first on my left.
00:22Fighting out of the blue corner, Wery Solid Black Trunks joining us from Valladolid, Spain.
00:28He weighed in at 131.9 pounds, with a record of 14 wins, one loss and one draw.
00:36He has six wins coming by way of knockout.
00:38Tonight making his U.S. debut, please welcome the former European super featherweight champion,
00:45introducing Salvador, Salvi Jimenez.
00:51And his opponent across the ring on my right, fighting out of the red corner,
00:58wearing red trunks with gold to trim, joining us from Las Vegas, Nevada.
01:04He weighed in at 131.7 pounds.
01:08He is undefeated in his campaign to the ring with a record of 22 wins, no losses, 12 wins.
01:14Coming by way of knockout, here is the current WBO intercontinental junior lightweight champion,
01:20and the undefeated world-ranked contender, introducing Andres Cortez.
01:29You know what you're going to get in an Andres Cortez fight, and that is two fighters who are going to engage,
01:50and Salvador Jimenez, he says, I didn't make this trip all the way from Spain to just give it up.
01:57My life changed when I started boxing at age 14.
02:00I was causing trouble on the street, and thanks to boxing, I have a future,
02:05and I can do something for my family.
02:08So both fighters with a lot at stake, but it's Cortez who's undefeated
02:12and really needs to take that next step in his career.
02:15It's been a little while since we've seen Cortez.
02:22Last fight that you mentioned.
02:26He was at nightville to fight Suarez, who's going to be in the main event tonight.
02:30That could have very well been him to fight for the world championship against Navarrete,
02:34however things happen.
02:36That would have been in September of 2024.
02:38Last time we saw him was in against Abraham Nova, who's also always in very close fights,
02:44and that fight went Cortez's way.
02:48That could have gone either way.
02:49Absolutely.
02:49Don't see what he can do tonight.
02:51I mean, he got a savvy boxer inside the ring tonight in minutes.
02:59You can tell he's a waiter.
03:02He said to wait on openings.
03:03A waiter.
03:04Yeah, he's a waiter, man.
03:06That's what he is.
03:07You know, we got plumbers, we got electricity, we got everything.
03:10So, I'm like, Uber drivers.
03:12You know, that's a term to describe a fighter, however.
03:15You know what?
03:16Ain't no idea if a fighter is Uber driver.
03:17He eats a Lyft driver.
03:19Oh, it's a Lyft.
03:19Okay.
03:21Get it right.
03:22Hey, but you know what?
03:23Same thing.
03:23I'm about that first.
03:24I'm at safety of the week.
03:26Yeah, Cardinus is off the chain, man.
03:28In a way, even better.
03:29So, absolutely.
03:31Yeah, waiters, they like to sit on the outside.
03:38They like to pick their spots.
03:39You know, they look for openings.
03:41They look to make their opposition pay like that.
03:44Saw a lazy jab, boom, came around with a right hand.
03:49Cortez got away from it, but the left hook before that landed.
03:52But you just understand what I'm saying.
03:54Yeah.
03:55We saw that earlier tonight in one of our fights where you had Christian
04:01Medina waiting on Alan Garcia to make a mistake.
04:03And he did make a mistake, and he paid for it twice in that fight.
04:08Came away with a unanimous decision win.
04:10But those are the shaky moments that you get when you're in against a waiter.
04:15Absolutely.
04:17And that high guard that Cortez has not been able to penetrate as of yet.
04:21And the high guard is a highly used guard in boxing, to be honest, which is a terrible guard.
04:32I mean, not unless you're trying to fake your opposition, you know.
04:37And usually when you see guys tuck up into the high guard, they want you to punch at their guards.
04:43They're looking for you to do something, to be able to basically open yourself up for a counter.
04:51Oh, that was shot to the back of the head as Jimenez was scurrying away.
04:56Now you see the guard shaking.
05:00Oh, nice right hand there from Cortez.
05:03That's a fail.
05:06Just like that, bro, we got 10 rounds.
05:10How do you feel?
05:11It's a little hard.
05:12We want him to do that.
05:13He's going to knock it off.
05:15Beautiful.
05:16He's jabbing him.
05:17All the heart punches off the jab, okay?
05:19Keep things smooth and take your time.
05:21It's going to come.
05:22Hide the power.
05:23No uppercuts in the body shots, okay?
05:25And start investing in the body a little bit more.
05:27But don't reach.
05:28Just what you're doing is beautiful.
05:30You're not getting hit at all.
05:33Great.
05:35Exactly.
05:36Good, champ.
05:38Keep making them get frustrated.
05:39Don't let them hit you, but stay alive, okay?
05:41And stay off the ropes.
05:43We don't need to be there.
05:44I'm on the way.
05:45Stay relaxed.
05:46Sharp, bro.
05:46Sharp.
05:48You saw the graphic there.
05:50I like that.
05:51His brother, Luis Cortez, who is his trainer, defeated Jose Ramirez.
05:55And Oshaki Foster, eventual world champions while an amateur.
05:59So, you know, that's the big question here, Tim.
06:02You know, a lot of times they say those who can't do teach.
06:06Well, his brother, Luis, could fight.
06:09Absolutely.
06:09He could fight.
06:10But he didn't have the discipline.
06:13But, you know, just that mid-end inside that corner, I mean, he told his brother great advice.
06:18And the most important thing that I took from that corner was the defense.
06:22The defense, the defense, defeat defense.
06:25And he told them, hey, take your time.
06:27You got 10 rounds to go.
06:28You got 10 rounds.
06:29Don't need to rush.
06:30We're going to set up the shot.
06:31But keep attacking that body like he's doing there.
06:35And once he starts to attack that body, those hands will start to drop little by little.
06:39That's one way to lower that high guard.
06:43Yes.
06:45See, a menace now.
06:46He's changing guards every so often now.
06:49See him now going to southpaw now.
06:53Back to the orthodox momentarily.
06:56Tucking up again in that high guard, leading forward.
06:58Looking to land something big.
07:00Left hook or overhand right.
07:03That's what he's looking to set up.
07:04That's why you see him drop his level.
07:07And he's just looking for Cortez to overcommit with something.
07:11Now coming forward, trying to put some pressure on Cortez.
07:16The uppercut is there for Cortez.
07:18He hasn't seen it yet, but the uppercut is there.
07:24That's body work there for Cortez.
07:26Jimenez doesn't want to block it, but you see the ideas that are running through the mind of Andres Cortez.
07:35He's trying to open the guard of Jimenez up.
07:40Jimenez being stubborn so far.
07:45Six-time man.
07:46Spanish amateur national champion.
07:48Coming off of a unanimous decision loss against Ryan Garner for the European Union championship in March of this year.
07:58So, he said, I'm still in shape.
08:00See, he's closing at an inactivized guard.
08:18Cortez, all Cortez has to do like he's doing out at distance.
08:22Just let his hands go.
08:23Leave his feet in place and just let his hands go.
08:28If the feet move, then he can be able to pick it up and readjust.
08:31But he's giving him free offense and he's not looking to punch in between shots.
08:34He's just looking for him to finish and then he's going to try to work.
08:38He's getting a little bit upset here in Sandy after all the action we've seen earlier tonight.
08:57You can't fall into the trap of trying to put on a show sometimes, but it wouldn't be bad at you if you did.
09:05All right, tonight's main event features Charlie Suarez, an active military man in the Philippines who will be challenging Emanuel Navarrete.
09:17And you see the reach of all of the opponents with over 70 inches of reach.
09:23Wilson was able to drop Navarrete.
09:25Gonçay, Sal had success against him.
09:27And then you see Charlie Suarez at 74 inches, the longest, the only man to have a reach advantage over Navarrete,
09:34who's used to touching you from places where he's not supposed to hit you from, Tim.
09:38How does that change the dynamic of this fight?
09:41It's interesting because you've got a guy like Suarez, again, that can box.
09:46He can box off his back foot.
09:48He can also come forward and he's able to stay a little bit outside and land his offense.
09:54So counter punching is going to be very or should be very effective for tonight because you have a guy like Navarrete that likes to take risks.
10:01And a lot of times he doesn't do things as if that is textbook.
10:04He reaches, he lunges, he's off balance a lot of the times.
10:08Well, Suarez is going to be able to hit him, you know, out at range anytime he makes a mistake.
10:13And so, look, it's great.
10:15He got Terrence Crawford reach, 74 inches, man.
10:19And he's two inches shorter.
10:20And that makes you different, man.
10:21That makes you dangerous.
10:22And that's why, to me, Navarrete used to be in that guy.
10:26Let's see how he deals with a guy who not only has the reach, but Tim, good feet, excellent angles.
10:31He's got an amateur pedigree.
10:34Terrence Southpaw as well.
10:36You know, he has a little bit of Berencik in him.
10:38Very, very awkward fighter.
10:40So we're going to see what Navarrete learned from the Berencik loss at lightweight that he can apply to this fight, his fourth title defense at 130 pounds.
10:50That's our main event.
10:51We move over at 10 p.m. Eastern, 7 p.m. Pacific to ESPN.
10:55We hope you'll join us on the network where you can stay here and continue to watch the fights.
11:01Nice body work there from Cortez.
11:06Early rounds.
11:07Had a couple of fill-out rounds.
11:10Cortez needs to start picking up the offense.
11:12If I was in this corner, I'll let him know this dude is not here to fight.
11:15He's just here to look cute.
11:17You know, if he was here to fight, then, you know, he'd be letting his hands go.
11:21However, he's waiting on you.
11:23Don't give him anything to wait on.
11:26Meet him with some shots.
11:27Take it to him with the guy that doesn't want to engage.
11:30Take it to him.
11:31Take it to him.
11:32Make him open up.
11:34Let your hands go.
11:36And just be responsible defensively.
11:40Watch for his reaction.
11:42But again, he's going to do this all night.
11:44Yeah.
11:44And that's what he wants to do.
11:46That's exactly what he wants to do.
11:55There you go.
11:58There it is.
11:59Nice right hand from Cortez.
12:02There you go.
12:03And just watch the left hook.
12:04He's leaning on it.
12:05He's leaning on that front leg for the left hook.
12:08Make that left hook miss and then come back even more with offense.
12:15Cortez is smart enough to figure this out.
12:18Nice.
12:19Right at the end of a three punch.
12:21And you see how he stepped back and he looked all cool.
12:23This stuff with all the tattoos he's been.
12:24Come on, man.
12:25All that posing.
12:26He ain't doing nothing.
12:27Come on now.
12:28Jimenez, you better than this.
12:30Let your hands go.
12:30Jimenez, moving out in straight lines.
12:33Cortez could have continued to follow him out.
12:36But he didn't.
12:36He stopped.
12:51Oh, good.
12:52He fainted on me.
12:53He tucked up real fast.
12:59Look, look, look.
13:00Just playing around, man.
13:05Just playing around.
13:16Keep walking to him behind that jab and go to that motherfuckers body, okay?
13:20How do you feel?
13:21Breathe, breathe.
13:22Keep controlling that pace.
13:24Put some on his ass, okay?
13:26Get behind that jab and go to that body.
13:28Don't fall asleep in there, all right?
13:31Don't fall asleep in there and don't get hit with nothing.
13:33Look, your face is clean.
13:35Stay alive.
13:37Work behind that double jab, that jab, and rip his ass, okay?
13:42Relax, relax, bro, relax.
13:44Stay calm, though, in there.
13:45Stay on the rhythm.
13:46Ralph, put some water on his head a little bit.
13:50I'm going to throw up.
13:51Smart, though, okay?
13:52Smart.
13:54Smart.
13:54Don't go crazy.
13:55Don't miss, okay?
13:57Breathe.
13:57Stay in here.
13:59Take every round.
14:00Let's go.
14:02Touch him on his ass, okay?
14:04Come on!
14:05Man!
14:07Good corner.
14:08All right.
14:11Are you ready for round four, Timothy Bradley?
14:14I'm ready for this top one.
14:16Come back with my still one.
14:18I'm going to be here.
14:19Andres Cortez, 22 of them.
14:2312 knockouts.
14:23Salvador Jimenez from Spain, 14-1-1 with six knockouts.
14:28Nice right hook there from Jimenez.
14:30The waiter.
14:31About time.
14:31He wailed Cortez into that right hook.
14:35I'm so glad he didn't like what I said.
14:38Yes.
14:39Come out and fight, baby.
14:40Give us something to cheer about.
14:49Getting off to a quick start.
14:51I like that shift in tempo from Jimenez.
14:54That's a nice lead right into the body shot from Cortez.
14:58As things start to heat up.
15:03See, now he's eating takeoffs.
15:05He's eating a turn.
15:06He's eating a turn.
15:06He's eating a turn.
15:07He's eating a turn.
15:07He's eating a turn.
15:08He's eating a turn.
15:08He's eating a turn.
15:09It takes about four rounds to get acclimated if you be out in the ring flu.
15:14We don't close to a year or some time.
15:17They call him the savage.
15:19Hopefully Jimenez.
15:20Now he's feeling it.
15:21Welcome to savage.
15:22Body shot.
15:23He hit him with a double hit.
15:25Did you see, Cortez?
15:29Double tap left foot to the liver.
15:32Oh, the double tap up top, huh?
15:33No, I thought it was in two hands.
15:35I thought I saw two hands.
15:36He kind of sandwiched his head.
15:38You're out of his head.
15:39Now he's looking at the body shots.
15:40Yeah.
15:41I like the ropes.
15:42It's Cortez.
15:43That's right hand after a left hook down.
15:45Cortez just got to watch the left hook.
15:48The left hook, the left hook, the left hook.
15:50That's what Cortez has to watch.
15:58It's body person.
15:59Cortez is working downstairs to slow down Jimenez.
16:03Oh, nice counter right from Jimenez.
16:30When he longed to Cortez in these moments, he had success.
16:35He changed his angles.
16:36Cortez tries to cut off the ring.
16:38Boom.
16:39Gets fit in the process.
16:41Cortez, again, you've got to stay disciplined.
16:43He can come forward.
16:44Come on to jab.
16:45A lot of pressure.
16:48Take some on the glove.
16:49Make him commit.
16:50Make him work.
16:51Make him force him to open up.
16:53Tell me, I don't believe this, but.
16:56What?
16:57It's how the old Jimenez liked it.
16:59What?
17:00When I asked him, describe your style, he said, I'm a wrestler.
17:04Impressively moving out on stage.
17:06Man, fighters are the biggest lies in the world, man.
17:09We lie about everything.
17:11Especially when you come to the boxing.
17:12Oh, my gosh.
17:15I should earn 30 plus years of statistics.
17:17You're okay.
17:22You're okay, mate.
17:27Good.
17:28You're winning every round.
17:29The LaCroix build.
17:30Face hard.
17:31Don't ever hit you with nothing.
17:32That's the most important.
17:34Stay aggressive, but face hard for your defense, okay?
17:36You'll be like that jab and you bust that body.
17:39Don't get hit, please.
17:40I'm telling you, he's just trying to counter you.
17:42Yeah, this is what I was talking about with Cortez.
17:45This double, trying to expose that high guard.
17:53It looked like he hit him with both hands right there.
17:58He was holding the right hand up against his head.
18:00Yeah, exactly.
18:00And then he popped him up against his head.
18:01That was interesting.
18:03Yeah, I was more impressed by the body work there.
18:05They're like more defense.
18:05Don't call it.
18:06Yeah, I mean, look.
18:07You try to hit up top for them to bring their arms up to open up their vice.
18:13So that's why the first combination, the tap upstairs, was to get him to raise his arms up.
18:21So that way he can dig them downstairs.
18:25Punches thrown by a round.
18:27Look at that.
18:2871 punches thrown by Cortez in that fourth round.
18:32That's the savage that we expected.
18:34You talked about the ring rust not being in there since June of last year.
18:38Well, almost 11 months and here he is finally letting his hands go and finding a rhythm.
18:44Yeah.
18:45That four-round mark.
18:47That's good.
18:48Four-round mark.
18:49It takes a fighter about four rounds.
18:51Have you been out of the ring for some time?
18:53Four rounds to get acclimated to start further than like, you know what?
18:56I got my sea legs.
18:57I'm okay.
18:59Do you think your arms feel tight as well?
19:01What is it?
19:02You can, you know, if you're not relaxed in there, your arms will get kind of tight.
19:09So what's the feeling like, when you talk about ring rust, what's that?
19:13Just the timing.
19:14Your timing's off.
19:15Okay.
19:15You know, you're trying to locate the target.
19:17You know, usually when you have really good timing, you got a good range of distance, right?
19:25You're able to time your jab perfectly, and that's completely gone.
19:31You're throwing punches too soon, too late.
19:35You know, you're missing the target.
19:39Just like basketball.
19:41Just like basketball.
19:43Same thing.
19:45When she gets the timing and rhythm back, then you start to be flung.
19:49Nice right here.
19:57I like that right here.
19:58That was good.
20:00See what he can do after that.
20:03Combinations.
20:10Take a step back.
20:13Take a step back.
20:19Hey, man, you're just down the street from San Diego.
20:29You're in Tijuana.
20:31These people are used to fight.
20:32Exactly.
20:33They love the first few fights of the night.
20:36Even though we went the distance at all four previous fights, they were all action fights.
20:40That's what the fans are here to see in our main event and co-main event title fights.
20:44But this is the brother, you got your minutes is defensive, defensive-minded.
20:50That's what he is.
20:51Not my matter.
20:53He's defensive-minded.
20:54He's just not going to let Cortez go in and hit him.
20:57You know, he's going to make it difficult for him, and he's going to look at places and shots like a brook.
21:03So different styles for each fighter.
21:06This is a minute style.
21:07It's a countervite.
21:08He likes to wait on him.
21:09But it's up to Cortez if he wants to make this fight entertaining.
21:14It's up to him to figure it out.
21:15I'll tell you right now, he does it.
21:17The crowd's letting him know.
21:23It's actually up to both of them.
21:24However, this is what we don't get.
21:26It's going to be up to both of Raymond Murataya's hands to be able to determine if he can have his hand raised in victory in his 23rd professional fight to become the IBF interim lightweight champion.
21:40He's got to defeat Zahur Abdullayev, who's fighting for a world title the second time in his career.
21:47And what, when Raymond Murataya is at his best, Tim, what is he doing?
21:53When he's at his very best, he can complete control of the ring.
21:57Jab, firing out.
21:58You know, lays the right hands and left hooks.
22:01You know, he's able to understand the distance and landing his shots.
22:04Body shots, you see a complete package.
22:07You know, when you watch him fight.
22:09When he's not at his very best, very complacent defensively.
22:14You know, gets tagged with shots he shouldn't be getting tagged with early on.
22:19And sometimes it takes him a little bit to get started, too.
22:22I see both of these guys starting a little bit slow.
22:27You know, after Lyon starts a slow starting, he starts to pick it up there in the middle of the fight.
22:32And I also have seen Murataya start slow and finish strong.
22:36So, we'll see what comes out tonight, man.
22:39I got high expectations for Murataya.
22:41And a lot of people have been talking about him in the division at 135.
22:48And he has to prove it tonight.
22:49That he's that guy.
22:57Great.
23:04Nice one, too.
23:05They're from Jimenez.
23:07Look, too few and far between.
23:09Yeah, maybe he's going to take too many chances.
23:16Not at all.
23:19You know, when it's right for them, then they strike.
23:21If it's not, they don't strike.
23:22It hasn't been right for six rounds now for a few times in the fourth round.
23:33He let his hands go.
23:34He had some success with the right.
23:35Yeah.
23:36When you look at his style, he can be frustrating because, you know, he makes it hard.
23:42He doesn't fight off.
23:43He doesn't throw a lot.
23:44He doesn't give you a whole lot of openings other than that high guard to try to finish training.
23:48That's a high, like, tight guard.
23:50You know, about a round ago, I saw Cortez trying to kill the guard now.
23:57But it was too strong.
23:59It was too strong.
24:01You see the build of Jimenez, strong, very strong, physically strong.
24:05That's a nice left of the solar plexus from Cortez.
24:08And you can still see Jimenez, still pretty explosive with those punches.
24:17Just with a double left hook combination that the Spaniard was able to connect.
24:24That's a nice slapping right hand from Cortez.
24:27A double jab from Jimenez.
24:34That's the thing, he has success when he lets his hands go.
24:40Yeah, that's a good route for Jimenez.
24:46I like how quickly he's able to draw.
24:48You know, when Jimenez decides to let his hands go, he's pretty active with his shots.
24:55Nice right hand.
24:56He's quick at close.
24:57He's quick at pretty, like, getting mid-range.
24:59He's got a nice, quick first step.
25:01Dude, that was a nice body shot along the ropes.
25:03Dude, that's a big truck.
25:04You see this and you're like, where is he?
25:09Because if he was doing that, he could be winning this fight.
25:14Yeah.
25:16I can't find another goal, gentlemen.
25:25That's Adeline Cortez.
25:28That's ironic.
25:30Uh, that's worse.
25:32You keep throwing what you're doing.
25:33Let's get this win.
25:34Keep throwing what you're doing, and walk them down from our lead.
25:37Okay?
25:38Be careful after you're done throwing and trying to counter you.
25:40Remember that.
25:41Breathe, breathe.
25:42Keep getting there.
25:43Straight your legs out.
25:44Great work.
25:45Stay on that rhythm.
25:46Okay?
25:47Don't go crazy.
25:48Stay composed.
25:49Breathe.

26:34Cortez should be winning this fight just because Jimenez is not engaging as much as he should but
26:39when he throws Jimenez has success. Man, Cortez is a nine-year pro. Nine years.
26:50Like, I can't even imagine being a nine-year pro and having fought for the world championship here.
26:55But I'm just saying, nine years, 22 fights. That's not many. You should have more fights than that.
27:06But two, you have a guy like Barbosa who waited 12 years for an opportunity at a world championship.
27:14What is really going on with these ancient bodies, man? You know, they need to have these guys fight.
27:23Number one versus number two. Number three versus number four. I mean, I think that will help the sport, man,
27:31to be able to figure out who's the best in the division on the rise to be able to fight for a world championship.
27:36But I feel like a lot of these fighters are holding on to these belts, man, and they're picking and choosing who they want to fight.
27:44And the mandatory defense is no longer here in boxing. Well, they're here when they went into week one
27:53and they want to take it like Canelo has done against... But that's not cool.
27:56But that's not cool.
27:57...against a fighter out in Miami. He wasn't saying keep my mandatory when it was David Benavidez.
28:05Exactly. And my point is, so, you know, a lot of these fighters, they hide them behind the stage in the body.
28:12You know, they can do that because they are the draw in the sport. A guy like Canelo Alvarez, of course,
28:18he's the face of boxing. So he's able to get away with things like that. I remember back in the day,
28:23Floyd was able to get away with things like that as well. It's not Canelo. It's a lot of fighters,
28:28but it just sucks, man, because guys are working their behind off. And then you have a guy like Manny Pacquiao
28:35that comes back and coming off a loss. And I know he's older and I know he's paid his dues. However,
28:40dudes coming off a loss and he's 40-something years old and he's getting a shot at a world championship.
28:45But you got other guys that have been working their butt off similar to here for eight years,
28:50nine years to fight for a world championship and they don't. They don't get the opportunity. It's bull crap,
28:55man. And they sanctioned about it. You need to do something about that. They need to correct that,
29:00man. You know what the problem is? What? They can make more money with Manny Pacquiao than any
29:04other revolter that you're around. That's bull crap. That's baloney, man. Oh, it's, that's the
29:08ultimate fact, but it's bull crap. And so you have guys like Cortez,
29:15who waits forever for a world championship. No, I'm not saying he had the perfect career and
29:20he hadn't fought the right fighters and just had the third. He missed an opportunity to fight Suarez.
29:25However, I'm just saying there's many more examples out there that I can use.
29:29There's a scintillating round between Cortez and Jiménez and there is Perla Basandúa alongside the champion.
29:39Emmanuel Navarrete will be defending his title. You saw her walk in with her pink sombrero and now
29:45they're comparing sombreros there with the champ and a future champion here. Wow. You know what else is cool
29:53expression with what we're seeing inside the ring. Emmanuel Navarrete is one of the fighters who
29:58throws the most combinations. William Zepeda will be fighting Shakur Stevenson, Roman Chocolatito
30:03Gonzalez, Juan Francisco Estrada, Brandon Figueroa, Errol Spence, and then Emmanuel Navarrete. 15.3
30:11combinations thrown per round. He gets busy. He gets down. Absolutely. And that's why we love him. You know,
30:18he puts it all out there and then that's what the fans want to see. Is that an edit on the hat or is
30:23that a real photo? That's nice. You the only one up there with that. That's nice. That's real man. Hey,
30:31you got one of those hats. I haven't. Who picked it from? No, man, this is the wrong story.
30:38Or it didn't fit your head. It didn't fit my head. No, but yeah, a real nice hat. I'll see if I can get this one.
30:45All right. Punches thrown per round by Cortez. Let's take a look at how it's broken down.
30:50First three rounds, 37 per round. Since that, it's 53 punches thrown per round. So far in this fight,
30:5839 total punches landed by Jimenez, 79 for Andres Cortez. Well, at least Cortez
31:08has landed Roiling Canelo due to get to William Scull in 12 rounds. But Jimenez still has some work to do.
31:15The fans are getting their throats going with the boos.
31:36Straight hand there with Cortez.
31:38Yeah, it's been the same old story. Cortez trying to bust through that high guard every now and
31:47end of it. That Jimenez with a clean shot. That's a person.
31:54That staff jab has been working for a minute. Let's see if he can work off of that as well.
31:58You know, the worst part is when he doesn't get the decision, he's going to be all disappointed.
32:06His quarters will be like, he won that fight. Yeah.
32:09He's blocking a lot of these punches. He definitely ain't blocking a lot of these shots.
32:22They're not that much.
32:32They're not that much.
32:48See, something is so tight.
32:53Fights, when you're just coming back, right?
32:55he's just getting back into the mix get back on the scene you know cortez coming in and off of a
33:03injury been out of the ring for a while this is one of those fights where he's just saying
33:09just get the win we'll look good later we just need to get in here and get back in action yeah
33:13but he wants a title shot this is not the way you earn a title shot tim no he ain't gonna he ain't
33:19going no no i mean little title shots i think he's good to be honest with you i think he's ready but
33:25i'm just saying he's been off for close to death a year man and he's fighting a guy again that's a
33:30counter function that likes to wait and you know it makes things different it's making things
33:33different with my own yo pips for dominance last week what timstradamus came and you gave us in your
33:40lap what the key was to get to in the way how do you get to come on now that thing you already know
33:46unconventional makes a lot of mistakes yes you're gonna have sworens gonna have to push him back
33:52guess what because he squares up not in position look at those hands down sworens having that 74
33:57inch reach guess what you'll be able to reach him in these instances right here and another thing
34:02sworens needs to watch out for this launching pad this cross step you see he gets in position he's
34:07starting to launch forward and that uppercut right there but man look at the exposure on that right
34:13side oh my gosh those long arms and suarez got a left hook okay he can make them pay and uppercuts you
34:20know they're going to be thrown and they're thrown from far out a far distance from another thing he
34:25drops i mean it's something i mean come on and you beat him to the punch then that foot right here
34:32boom that wilson was able to land now i think a guy like suarez i think
34:38he has that knowledge and he also has that just an automatic question for scoring so if he if he
34:45looks at that and apply that actually it can help him in this fight well the thing is we all see it
34:51all his opponents come in and tell you what they see because suarez told us in the fight meetings look
34:56he drops his opposite hand but he can throw it in that case he dropped both hands but only wilson was
35:03really able to burn him you know constantly have success so you take the power of wilson which suarez has
35:09that left hook and if you take the technique of an olympian like constantly which tries what is
35:16he doesn't have that better to put those together but there's only there's there's a couple of things
35:22that that concern me about choice what's that one he likes to use the high guard and that's one thing you
35:31don't want to sit in front of a volume punch or someone that can punch his part is not that he likes guys
35:35that use the high guard you don't use the high guard about this and you saw what happened to him one
35:41two he tends to bag out in straight lines you know if he bag out in straight lines that lunch he
35:47pads it to use that process that's going to work he's going to follow him out with that left hook
35:52and there was one more thing i was thinking about but i forgot there's one more thing that concerns me
36:00but i forgot there's one more thing that concerns me look at some argument and when he lets his hands go
36:06how good he can look yeah but he don't believe in his condition
36:10and and and and and he don't like to get hit
36:14he's in the trunks
36:16trying to pay attention to all that oh he got the little cute bull trucks on uh yeah okay
36:21he don't like to get hit look at the nice haircut he got everything man
36:24after the long of his chest hold up a nice haircut and the show
36:28i don't like to cut my hair before a fight because when i look good i want to show up
36:35he's like my little scrubby on the fight just like he did last week against anybody right right
36:40right right oh the last thing i remember see don't don't take punches for him please
36:44he only took two interviews
36:50and the story is sometimes when i watch my film uh he gets overwhelmed by combinations you know
36:57uh and he gets in and puts himself in a bad position so that's what concern me tonight
37:04well guess what you just showed him about 15 combinations around so
37:08look but that makes for a great intriguing fight because both guys you see a path to victory
37:14and a path to defeat
37:16and that's why i said you know you have the weight on top of that um the boxing ability is
37:22if suarez blocks perfectly tonight and if he can avoid again if you don't have a watching pad
37:29in the direction of that effort he can avoid that he can do something
37:41and then it ain't tough until the hands happen
37:44so
37:53okay
38:01don't get hit
38:05Great, great, great.
38:07I'm not even getting here.
38:09Great, nice.
38:11Great, great, great.
38:13Great, great.
38:15Great, great.
38:23Almost there.
38:25Almost there.
38:27Almost there.
38:29Almost there.
38:31Almost there.
38:33Crown's excited.
38:35Do you think that's what...
38:37I don't think that's what the...
38:39I had to bounce off.
38:41Okay.
38:43I had to say yes.
38:45He's about to go.
38:47Look, every two rounds
38:49Andres Cortes called his brother
38:51and trained Luis Cortes.
38:53My left hand is hurt.
38:55He says how bad I can attack him.
38:57That's why he's not digging in like he was earlier in the fight.
38:59He's not using, you know,
39:01I've got to get up.
39:03He's got to touch it.
39:05He's got to touch it.
39:07You use his phone and he knows it's hurt.
39:09You're good.
39:11You know what up.
39:13Most of the players are going to be good.
39:15Look, I'm not...
39:17The opposite hand,
39:19gotta work overtime.
39:21That's it. Work that opposite hand. You lose one, use the opposite hand more. That's simple.
39:32I remember when, uh, it was going to change that, like, earlier in his career, he used all the other hands that he could see on switches.
39:41Work that opposite sound off.
39:43You saw him dig into his bag and he used to tell him that hand too.
39:47We're a different type of punch angles and punch enough students.
39:53So you know you work for now.
39:55You gotta work for everything.
39:57You do.
39:58I've told him everything.
40:00He left nothing to chance when I was careful.
40:03It was silly.
40:04I mean, yeah.
40:05That's what you supposed to do.
40:07Most people were there for any and everything.
40:10Even for not them.
40:11And that not going anywhere.
40:13It almost made me feel like...
40:15Because of the way he responded that they were...
40:18The way he was looking at the referee.
40:20He glanced over at his corner.
40:22Right?
40:23Yeah.
40:24And he's nodding his head like, I'm good.
40:26I'm okay, dude.
40:27You can see him looking at the count.
40:29And then he gets up.
40:31And he's saying to the ref, I'm okay.
40:33I'm okay.
40:34I'm fine.
40:35Yeah.
40:36He was ready for that moment.
40:37Yeah.
40:38Yeah.
40:39For guys who get dropped for the first time.
40:41Have no idea what they're doing.
40:42So look to their corner.
40:44Yeah.
40:45The moment comes.
40:46Some guys just jump off.
40:47And don't take the time.
40:48And then he took the count.
40:50He took the A count.
40:51Look, when you get knocked down.
40:52It's an automatic A count.
40:53Your miles will use the time.
40:55Right?
40:56Eight.
40:57Nine.
40:58Nine.
40:59You beat me, people.
41:00You beat me, people.
41:01We beat me.
41:16Man, I got some...
41:19Hey, I don't know they even lost.
41:22I don't know.
41:23I'm about to fi.
41:25I don't think he came from the first place, but now he just tired about 30 years ago, and I just, I think he was like, that's what you do too, he's a little excited, that's what I'm saying, he's like golf, he's a little more excited, yeah, absolutely, he was a good thing to say, he said he won, he won.
41:55Alright, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, one of them is going to have a face of disappointment, I'll take that one, I don't know, can somebody explain it to me, I'm like, come on man, what about, look, every fight they got, let me just say this, every fight they got to be a war, man, in the, you know, the skills, the boxing at the end of the day, you know,
42:25but that right there, his people put it, ain't it, you know they got the best production group here, you know we met the best production group here, they couldn't come up without it,
42:35no they didn't, no, no, it's the coming out to you, look man, the reality is, Cortez threw basically twice as many punches,
42:47that's about, he landed, he landed, oh, he did 61 punches more, and he started 200 clubs,
42:54about 100 clubs, a 100 club, a 200 club, yeah, but that was 10 rounds right there, yeah, I mean it's still,
43:03are you doing more than that or not, oh yeah, I mean look, 253, 120 to 63 landed, that's what we got,
43:12Jimmy Lennon Jr. is inside the ring, ready to bring the decision, and bring it in, to this fight, Jimmy it's all yours please.
43:24Ladies and gentlemen, after 10 rounds of action, the judges are in agreement with the unanimous decision,
43:31Jack Rees and Zachary Young, both scored about 100 to 90, all three in favor of the winner, and still defeated,
43:46Andres Cortez.
43:51Alright, the crowd is happy that this fight is over, Andres Cortez, improves to 23-0, we hope the ring rust comes off,
