Albion legend Tony Brown remembers Cyrille Regis
Transcript
00:00Bomber, big Cyril, a man you were very close to as teammates and in your post-playing careers.
00:09What an athlete, you know, when he came to the club as an unknown.
00:12Awesome. I think that's the word that you'd have to use about Cyril.
00:17So when he first came, that raw pace and power he had, you know, he took everybody by storm.
00:23And when he was given his chance in the first team, he just grabbed it, you know, with both hands.
00:30And the supporters at this club, they just took to him straight away and became a firm favourite.
00:38He was, as I say, he was an awesome player.
00:41Some of your memories were defenders hanging off him trying to get him.
00:44Oh, yeah, in the early days.
00:46Because I think he made his debut because I was injured the one day and I was watching from the stand.
00:51And I was just amazed, you know, because I'd seen him in training, not a lot.
00:56He hadn't really trained with the first team a lot when he was given his chance.
01:01But to see him in an actual game, he was defenders, he was turning defenders
01:07and they were trying to hang on to him to pull him back and that.
01:10And he couldn't, he just had so much power and pace and great character, lovely man, Lewis.
01:17Lovely man, great character and sadly missed.
01:21Yeah.
