The small community of Coonabarabran in north-western NSW has held a candlelit vigil for two young brothers who died in what police are treating as an alleged double homicide earlier this week.

00:10Monday. Today they are being remembered with a candlelit vigil where poems,
00:15stories and memories of their lives will be talked about. The two boys are also
00:19being remembered here in town with two trees being planted in their honour. The
00:24boys are being remembered as close brothers, great friends and active
00:28participants in their community participating in sports such as karate.
00:32Cody Brady has organised this evening's vigil. I think it's so important to bring
00:37community together for that next step in the grief process. You know we're all in
00:44shock and I think if we have a vigil community sees they're not alone and you
00:49know we can share this grief together and heal together and move forward through
00:53that grief process. The 66 year old grandmother of the boys has been taken to
00:58a mental health facility under police guard. Police are treating the incident as
01:02an alleged double murder and is expected to face serious charges.
