00:00Here behind me in Tihuel, Senedd members are getting used to their new temporary digs
00:06and are straight back on it with the big questions like nothing ever changed.
00:10VE Day celebrations have been taking place all week across the country
00:13and Darren Miller made it clear that peace that came with VE Day
00:16should be remembered and continued on, with efforts here in Wales having a big impact on the war in Ukraine.
00:22Because of course war continues to rage in Eastern Europe due to Putin's illegal invasion of Ukraine,
00:28a country that I visited along with a number of other MS's over the Easter recess,
00:33my second visit since the start of the war.
00:36And I was struck when I visited this time about how much people in Ukraine appreciate the solidarity
00:44of the people of Wales and the support of the Senedd for their war efforts.
00:51According to the Tory leader, Wales play a key role in the defence industry in Wales and the rest of the UK.
00:56But he says that companies involved in ammunitions, weapons and technology
01:00can't apply for Welsh Government investment bank funding, something that he says should be reversed.
01:05But Lenino Morgan wants to safeguard the companies before making any big decisions.
01:11Please can you explain, First Minister, why is that the case?
01:15And what are you going to do to remove the restriction on the Development Bank of Wales
01:19from being able to invest in the defence companies that we need to see succeed
01:23in order to make sure that we have national security here at home and abroad?
01:28I think there are companies and businesses in Wales that can make a major contribution.
01:35And I think the fact that the MOD now will be getting a significant uplift in its budget
01:40gives an opportunity for Welsh companies.
01:43But I'm happy to explore further what the situation is in relation to the Development Bank for Wales.
01:52From Plaid Cymru, the rhetoric for the last few months has been surrounding
01:55Aline Edmorgan's apparent lack of influence over Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Westminster.
02:01A number of quite impactful decisions made in Westminster have been detrimental to Wales,
02:05according to Srinath Yorworth.
02:06And he says Aline Edmorgan is letting her Welsh Labour counterparts in the UK Parliament
02:11get away with making decisions directly opposed to Welsh Labour Senate members.
02:15The Plaid Leader wants answers.
02:17She talks about Labour as a family.
02:20It is a political party.
02:22It is a political party that this First Minister is asking people to vote for,
02:27whilst confirming again today that she is perfectly happy for Labour MPs from Wales
02:32to vote against Wales' interests, time and time again.
02:37Already we've had £1.6 billion additional funding into the Welsh Labour government coffers.
02:46It is important for us to recognise that we have set out today a whole series of areas
02:52where we want to see Partnership in Power delivering more.
