00:00Warriors beat the Wolves 99-88 to take a 1-0 series lead.
00:04Steph Curry, of course, is the story here.
00:06He left in the first half with what's now been known as a grade one hamstring strain
00:10that's going to keep him out 7 to 10 days at the minimum.
00:14So guys had to step up last night.
00:16Jimmy Butler, 20 points, 11 boards, 8 times.
00:18Buddy Heald, who did nothing in the first half, came alive in the second half,
00:23hitting threes all over the place on D&T.
00:26Tremont Green, the hub of the wheel, finds Buddy Heald.
00:30Buddy Heald delivers a three ball.
00:33Buddy was 0 for 8 until that bucket of nuts was going to the rim like he normally does.
00:39He can't finish a heel in transition.
00:42Back-to-back threes.
00:43Buddy Heald knocks him down, and Chris Finch wants the timeout.
00:49I remember Buddy in college.
00:52He could really shoot.
00:53And then I think he's been sporadic in the NBA.
00:57Like, he gets hot and cold.
00:58Right now he's hot.
01:00He's hit 14 threes in the last couple of games.
01:03He can go cold.
01:05You know, the game before that, he had zero.
01:08Zero points.
01:09Like, this guy can go hot and cold like nobody's business.
01:12He's going to be key to this now because, you know, Butler, Green,
01:18we know what they're going to do.
01:19We know what they're capable of and what their job is going to be.
01:23They're going to have to hold down this team with Curry out.
01:27You cannot win without Steph Curry.
01:29There's no way they're winning anything without Curry, like a title or going to the,
01:35you know, Western final or anything else.
01:37I don't believe they can even win this series without it.
01:40Like, so he's going to miss seven to 10 days.
01:43Let's just call it a week at least at the, at the very least at the best, he's not going
01:49to play for a week.
01:50So that means he's going to miss game two.
01:54He's going to miss the two games in San Francisco at the chase.
01:57Right, Mike?
01:58I mean, that's at the very least, that'll be six days at least.
02:01So when they go back to Minnesota is when they're going to need it most.
02:06And those are going to be the hardest games when they have to go to the target at the
02:09end of this series.
02:10The series is just getting started.
02:12That was a huge win last night that they won without him.
02:15He had whatever 13, 14, when he pulled it, you saw him pull it.
02:18You saw him leave the game.
02:19He never came back.
02:20He's done.
02:20We know that now.
02:21So the moral of the story is for me is that Heald is going to have to stay involved shooting
02:29the rock and he's got to knock down shots.
02:32He's got to have, in my view, 18 plus a night.
02:37No questions asked.
02:3918 plus a night.
02:40He had 24 last night.
02:41He's got to go into that realm.
02:43Anything over 20, they're Gandhi.
02:46Well, look, there's going to be a lot more shots available now, right?
02:49With Steph not out there, someone's got to shoot.
02:53And that's, on a nightly basis, it's got to be either Heald or Podzemski, right?
02:57Who's got to, they've got to make more shots or a combination of both of them, you know,
03:03make it, you know, those are the two guys that, and I think more buddy, you're right,
03:07than Podzemski, but they have got to now provide the long range points for the Warriors
03:14because Steph's usually good for, you know, on a really good night, five, three, six, three,
03:18seven, you know, those guys have to make up all of that ground with Steph not there.
03:24And I think they've got to use Peyton.
03:26His defense has got to be part of this because Green can't be the only guy that's a real
03:33defender on that team.
03:35I think Looney is.
03:36They need Peyton.
03:37They need Green.
03:37They've got to have three guys that are making stops.
03:40Like, you look at the Knicks.
03:41They've got Ananobi.
03:42They've got Bridges.
03:43Because everybody has to step up on the other end and get stops because I don't believe
03:50that the, in my opinion, the T-Wolves won't have another game under 90 in the series.
03:56They had 88.
03:57It's not happening again.
03:59No.
03:59And I think that's the thing that surprised me the most was that, like, didn't you feel
04:04like Minnesota just looked like, for some reason, they looked so disinterested.
04:07They looked so disinterested last night.
04:10Like, it's the opening game of the second round.
04:13Like, they look like, between Randall and Ant, like, they just looked like they didn't
04:17want to be there.
04:18It was so bizarre what was going on.
04:22You can't explain it.
