00:00President Ferdinand Marcus Jr. has ordered an investigation on reports that sand from the country's coastal areas is allegedly being used for reclamation activities by Chinese nationals in the West Philippine Sea.
00:14According to the palace, the president was informed about the matter and directly directed concerned agencies to launch a thorough probe.
00:25The investigation is now underway with authorities awaiting the official results.
00:30During a Senate hearing held yesterday, the National Intelligence Coordinating Council revealed that sand from municipalities near the WPS is allegedly being extracted and used by Chinese nationals to support their ongoing reclamation efforts in disputed waters.
