I bought the Nyla perfume that's gone viral on TikTok - here's what it's really like.

00:00Okay, I'm going to talk to you about perfume. I've done it before, I'll probably do it again, but I couldn't resist because there is a particular perfume that is all over my TikTok FYP.
00:14If you've got TikTok, it might be all over yours. It's called Nila, N-Y-L-A, I think that's how you pronounce it.
00:20It's an Arabian perfume by a company called Arabiat, and yeah, influencers just seem to be going absolutely wild over it, saying that it's Molly May's favourite, I don't know whether it is by the way, it's Rihanna's favourite, again, unconfirmed.
00:40But all of them, if you look, it says commission paid. So when I see that, I never know whether they're telling the truth or not, and whether it is amazing or it's not.
00:54But I thought, well, I'm not going to buy the whole bottle. The bottle's beautiful, by the way, I'll see if I can get a picture on there.
01:01It's kind of gold and comes in this great packet. Anyway, I thought, no, I'm not going to do that.
01:07I'll be sensible, and I'll order a sample, which is what is in my hand. It cost me £4.99 off the TikTok shop.
01:14And yeah, I thought I would try it, and try and describe it in a very ordinary way, not talking about all these fancy words that people use for perfumes, just what Joe Bloggs on the street thinks.
01:33So here we go. Like I say, it came in this very unfancy bottle. I didn't expect anything else.
01:42But yeah, I've tried it for the last few days. So this isn't a blind test for me, but here we go.
01:52I will spray it on my wrist, and I'll leave it to dry for a few seconds.
01:57Now, I will say that the initial kind of smell, scent, is very, very, very sweet. It's like a sweet shop.
02:09It's like, you know those drinks that you used to get at sports day at primary school, where you would like,
02:17they had a flimsy kind of plastic top, and you would shove your straw through them, and it was all so sweet.
02:22That is the very initial kind of impression I get with that.
02:28And then, as it dries and it develops, there's more of like a tobacco, cigarette-y kind of thing going on.
02:38When I've had a look, it says that the main accords are white floral, coconut, it's fruity, and there's a bit of musk.
02:47There's certainly musk.
02:51Certainly fruity, sweet. I can get the coconut 100%.
02:56Beach vibes, people have said, yeah, definitely.
03:00And do you know what?
03:02This is what it reminds me of.
03:05And I love the smell of, if I get the pronunciation wrong, I'm sorry, pisbuin.
03:12I think that that's a great, it reminds you of great times on holiday, sun shining, beach.
03:18Again, that's coconutty.
03:20So, yeah, I don't personally think that this perfume lasts very long, but it's not going to break the bank.
03:28I think it's always more or less on offer on TikTok shop for around £29, around that mark.
03:36So, if you want to smell summery, smell like this, but a little bit more sophisticated, a little bit more musky, a little bit more tobacco-y,
03:46then go for this Nila.
03:52Like I said, the bottle's beautiful.
03:54The scent is summery and sweet.
03:56It might not last that long.
03:58It might be a bit too sweet for you.
04:00But I can say I am not being paid commission.

04:06I think probably for the money, it's decent.
