Motor fans winced as California Highway Patrol officers were forced to push a flipped £260,000 Lamborghini Huracán STO off Highway 9 near Santa Cruz.

The crash happened on Sunday (May 4) when the driver lost control and the supercar rolled onto its roof.

Despite severe damage to the carbon-fibre body, both occupants escaped with minor injuries.

Officers used their patrol car to clear the wreck, warning: “This crash was preventable. Hwy 9 is not a racetrack.”
