00:00The debate around Ange Postokoglu's future is gathering pace.
00:07Spurs started the season brightly under the Australian boss, but things have unravelled.
00:12And now some fans are questioning whether he's the right man to take the club forward.
00:18We've spoken to James Trembath of London World to get a sense of how the situation is being viewed behind the scenes
00:26and what the club's next steps might look like. If a change is coming, the method matters.
00:32A Messi sacking risk, fracturing the dressing room and alienating fans.
00:36A mutual parting of ways could allow both sides to save face.
00:41But above all, Tottenham must ask, is now the time to act or does Ange deserve one more season to prove his vision can work?
00:48James, looking at Spurs and in terms of Ange Postokoglu, obviously he's been going on for a few weeks,
00:57maybe even the last month or so, saying he's pretty certain that his job's coming to an end at Spurs.
01:03What's the sort of situation, what's the stance of Spurs fans in terms of his tenure now,
01:10in terms of this summer rebuild that's probably going to have to happen again after such an abysmal season,
01:16especially in the league?
01:17Yeah, well, I mean, I think the writing's on the wall.
01:21I think it's fair to say, isn't it, regardless of whether we get over the line in the Europa League
01:24and end up winning the final.
01:26I think Ange Postokoglu's days at Spurs are certainly numbered.
01:30And, you know, I think that sort of the temperature now from the majority of fans,
01:34certainly the fans I speak to and are sort of in the circles with our, you know, it's time.
01:39You know, it's time. 18 league defeats, you know, eight defeats at home,
01:42which is the worst in a 38-game season.
01:44And I actually think there's merit personally now in announcing his departure, you know, imminently.
01:50You know, now keep him on to the end of the season.
01:53But I just think that gives everybody a bit of clarity over, you know, in terms of the fans for the future.
01:59We know that we're going to be looking at another change.
02:01It gives the club time to start planning and start thinking about a replacement,
02:05albeit, you know, they may be doing that behind the scenes without our knowledge.
02:07And should we pull off the miracle and end up winning in Bilbao in a couple of weeks' time?
02:13You know, Ange Postokoglu lives a hero.
02:15I mean, if he does deliver a trophy, and don't forget we got in the semi-final of the League Cup as well,
02:20you know, he'd be sort of forever in a lot of Spurs fans' hearts.
02:24But certainly the league form, you know, it's been abysmal, embarrassing, you know,
02:29running out with sort of adjectives to describe how bad it's been.
02:32And, you know, it was the same against Nottingham Forest on Monday, you know, largely, you know, a poor performance.
02:38You know, Ange came out and said it was a good performance.
02:42You know, that's been a little bit divisive among the fan base.
02:45You know, he says a lot of the same things every week.
02:47He's not fixing the problems.
02:48The players are not concentrating.
02:50To me, a lot of the players look like they've lost belief outside the Europa League.
02:54You know, they look like they've given the league up now.
02:56And, you know, it's just not good enough for a club of Tottenham's size and standing.
03:00So, you know, we certainly need, in my eyes, to make a change.
03:03I think we should probably make it sooner rather than later and, you know, give that clarity to everybody going forward.
03:09Yeah, you feel it's probably one of the most bizarre situations because of Spurs' sort of trophy drought that they,
03:15you know, this whole stigma around them that you need to return a trophy.
03:19An awkward situation in terms of, you know, Ange's standpoint, the league form has been terrible.
03:25But they are in a Europa League semi-final.
03:28That's something that they could be proud of any other season as long as the league form wasn't as bad as this.
03:33What's your thoughts on the Europa League in terms of, you know, we've mentioned it's all eggs in that basket now.
03:38And you can probably tell the players are on that same ship as well.
03:41But it becomes a strange situation.
03:44If he does go and return the trophy for the club, then, you know, where do the fans sort of stand on that?
03:51And Levy as well and Ange as well, you know, he can leave, you know, most likely leave knowing that he has returned that trophy and ended that drought.
03:59Yeah, I mean, it's kind of bizarre, isn't it?
04:02Because I think we always joke at the start of the season and say Spurs finish 17th and win a trophy.
04:07You know, a lot of Spurs fans would take that.
04:09And that's kind of the situation that we're in at the moment.
04:12I mean, as you say, the league form has been beyond abysmal.
04:16Mitigating factors throughout the season with the injuries.
04:18But sadly, Ange was able to hide behind the excuse of the injuries.
04:21Now all the players are back.
04:23The performances might have improved marginally, but the results are largely the same.
04:27And, you know, we're on a dreadful, dreadful run in the Premier League.
04:30And, you know, ultimately, we're very, very lucky that there's three worst teams in the division.
04:34You know, sadly, the wheels have come off one by one.
04:37And it's been a bit of a car crash ever since.
04:40And, you know, he'll go down as one of the worst managers in Spurs' history.
