01:12I mean he's a real key player
01:14yes he's missed you know a number of games through injury
01:17you know not once but twice in terms of seasons at Spurs
01:22but he's a real leader
01:24he's a top player
01:25and you know you have to admit
01:26they've probably missed him at the best of times this season
01:29Yeah I mean it's a bit of the curious case of Christian Romero I think sometimes
01:34World Cup winner, Copa America winner
01:37always seems to be available for Argentina
01:39a lot of Spurs fans are a little bit sceptical about that
01:42he tends to be available for Argentina
01:44but he's rarely able to turn out for Spurs
01:47I mean I think this season that's maybe just by look rather than design
01:51but have we ever really seen the best of Romero in a Spurs shirt
01:55I mean it's quite interesting
01:56I think in flashes you know absolutely no doubt
01:58he's a quality player
02:00and when he's on it he's an asset to Spurs
02:03and there have been you know purple patches
02:05where he's been very very consistent
02:06alongside Vendor Venn

02:10you know he's had some really really good spells in a Spurs shirt

02:24albeit as I say that he'd had a very short pre-season again

02:35you know all the signs are that he's got two years left on his deal
02:38and he'll be walking away this summer

02:40a lot of the echo chamber that goes around on social media
02:44are not factoring in Daniel Levy into this
02:46and you know we've seen the problems of the likes of Harry Kane
02:49trying to get out of Spurs
02:50Christine Eriksen before that
02:51Daniel Levy will not deal with Aston Villa
02:54when he's got two years left on his deal in the summer
02:56unless the fee is astronomical
02:58similarly Atletico Madrid
03:00so I think Romero would really have to agitate for a move to get it

03:04who knows if the next manager
03:07you know
03:07ends up being somebody like Mauricio Pochettino
03:09I think there's a lot of mutual respect there
03:12he's obviously a fellow Argentine
03:13so I don't think it's done and dusted
03:16but you know you would say
03:17the power is slowly shifting to Romero
03:20in terms of the key zeal to his future with two years left
03:23but as I say Daniel Levy will have the final say on that
03:26and no player leaves Spurs
03:27that is the one thing he is very good at
03:28in all fairness
03:29if he doesn't want to let a player go
03:31you ain't leaving frankly
03:33until it's on his terms
03:34so interesting summer ahead

03:37as we've spoken about before
03:38with or without Romero
03:39you know we need another centre-back coming in
03:41we've obviously got Van der Vend
03:42you know
03:43who's got so much talent
03:45but is he going to be
03:46sort of the next Ledley King
03:47where he's you know
03:48a fantastic player
03:49but we just really get him out on the pitch
03:51and see the best of him
03:52obviously Dragun's got his long-term
03:54cruciate injury in his knee
03:56which you know
03:57who knows when he's going to come back
03:58or whether he'll be the same player

04:01who's been pretty solid
04:02I think it's been a very shrewd signing
04:04from Spurs actually
04:05but we're definitely short at centre-back

04:07whether Romero stays
04:08or he doesn't stay
04:09so interesting to see
04:11how that one develops
04:12but you know
04:12the other thing is
04:13let's see how he plays
04:14in the next few games for Spurs

04:15let's see him be available now
04:17to the end of the season
04:17and really put his heart and soul
04:19on the line
04:19if he does want his move
04:21put everything out there
04:23and go out with a bang for Spurs
04:25and really show us what he can do
04:26because as I say
04:27if we get two or three key positions
04:29in that spine of the team
04:31then you know
04:32I don't think the new manager
04:34should there be one
04:35he's going to be too far away
04:37so you could argue
04:38Poster Coglu's laid a bit of groundwork there
04:40but who knows what the future holds
