00:00Today's Philippine Air Force is more than just a defender of all the skies.

00:04It is also a catalyst for positive change on the ground.

00:08Alette Reyes from the Philippine Information Agency later has the details.

00:14More than being a key responder to typhoons and disasters,

00:18the Philippine Air Force in Eastern Visayas recently showcased its diverse capabilities in a mall exhibit,

00:24highlighting its crucial role beyond emergency response

00:27and emphasizing its commitment to community engagement.

00:31This initiative, aligned with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s call,

00:35was fully supported by PAF and warmly received by the public,

00:38who applauded PAF's dedication and transparency.

00:41The mall exhibit highlighted the Air Force's comprehensive air defense capabilities,

00:46encompassing combat support operations, aviation and maritime domain awareness,

00:51humanitarian assistance and disaster response capabilities,

00:54all of which were vividly demonstrated during Super Typhoon Yolanda

00:58and other disasters that have struck the region.

01:01The purpose po talaga nito is para maging aware yung ating mga citizen,

01:05yung ating mga taong bayan na meron pong Philippine Air Force.

01:09Showcase our capabilities.

01:10Alam mo nila na nilang Army, Navy at marins, meron ding Philippine Air Force.

01:15Station po kami actually sa DCR Airport, which is meron doon runway,

01:19doon kami naka-station.

01:21We will always be the first responder po pagdating sa mga disaster response.

01:25Office of the Civil Defense Regional Director, Lord Bayron Torrecarion, in his message,

01:33lauded the PAF in the region for its rapid damage assessments

01:36and critical relief delivery to isolated communities during disaster response operations.

01:42He emphasized that their service extends far beyond traditional military duties

01:47and into the heart of the community building.

01:49As they celebrate their 78th anniversary on July 1, 2025,

01:54the Philippine Air Force's message is clear.

01:57They are not just defenders of the nation's skies.

01:59They are partners in building a stronger, healthier, and more resilient Philippines.
