00:00The Department of Budget and Management, or DBM, announced at the opening of the East Asia and the Pacific International Public Procurement Conference

00:09that authorities are now more confident that the use of artificial intelligence, or AI, will help curb cheating and irregularities in government procurement processes.

00:22Artificial intelligence has been integrated into numerous government functions in recent years, including government procurement.

00:32Authorities are now more confident that cheating and irregularities in the government procurement process will be suppressed through the use of AI.

00:40This was announced by the Department of Budget and Management, or DBM, during the opening of East Asia and the Pacific International Public Procurement Conference being held in the country.

00:50The DBM highlighted the use of advanced technologies as a significant step toward modernizing and improving the public procurement system, beginning with the bidding process.

00:59Through AI, it will be much easier to detect attempts of fraud and deception during bidding, as AI can quickly analyze vast amounts of data to identify irregularities.

01:34With digitalization and automation, the entire procurement and expenditures assessment process in the government will also be significantly expedited, resulting in faster implementation of government projects and delivery of services to the public.

01:48The DBM also emphasized the integration of AI into government procurement as part of broader reforms aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and strengthening public trust in government transactions.
