00:20Ipinagutos ng Pangulo ang review sa pag-ibigay ng driver's license

00:24para matiyak ang mga responsable at may kakayahan lang

00:27ang mga kapagmaneho.

00:29Magkakaroon din ang nationwide audit sa bus operators para matiyak

00:32ang ipinatutupad nilang standards at maintenance ng mga sasakyan.

00:36Inatasan din ng Pangulo ang Labor Department

00:39na magsagawa ng crackdown sa mga bus operators para matiyak

00:42na hindi sobra-sobra ang oras at trabaho ng kanilang mga driver.

00:49I felt condolences to all the families who have lost loved ones

00:53and to those who were injured in the recent tragedies

00:56at the SETEX Toll Plaza and NIA Terminal 1.

01:0010 lives were lost in a devastating collision in Tala.

01:03Days later, 2 more, one of them a child,

01:06were taken in a tragic accident at the airport.

01:09These incidents should never have happened.

01:11And now, we will ensure they never happen again.

01:14I have instructed Secretary Vince Dyson of the DOTR to move decisive.

01:18First, to identify and to hold accountable those responsible.

01:21And second, to put in place the necessary reforms to prevent further loss of life.

01:26We are taking the following actions.

01:28Review of driver licensing to ensure that only fit capable and responsible individuals,

01:35whether driving public or private vehicles, are allowed on our roads.

01:39A nationwide audit of bus operators with clear sanctions

01:43for those who fail to comply with safety and maintenance standards.

01:47A directive to the Department of Labor to crack down

01:50on unsafe and exploitative practices in the transport sector

01:54because driver fatigue, long hours, and pressure to meet quotas

01:58should never put lives at risk.

02:00We owe it to the victims and their families to act,

02:02not only with sympathy, but with resolve.

02:04These lives will not be lost in vain.

02:07We will make the changes that need to be made.

02:09We will demand accountability where it is due.

02:11And we will build a transport system that truly protects Filipino people.
