00:17Good morning to the courtesy call of the U.S. Semiconductor Industry Association or SIA,

00:23which was led by the President and its CEO, John Heufer, with him.

00:28President Marcos also gave the importance of cooperation between the Philippines and the U.S. Workforce Training and Technology Transfer

00:31in the development of the semiconductor industry.

00:36On behalf of Heufer, the U.S. Government has said that it has initiatives to ensure the continuous supply of semiconductors,

00:44particularly in the technology industry in America.

00:48It is investing U.S. $500 million in five years to help friends and associates like the Philippines

00:56develop their talents.

00:58In the past year, the largest export of the Philippines to the U.S. is semiconductor and integrated circuits,

01:05which is worth $3.1 billion or 23.3% of its total export to North America.

01:14The Semiconductor Industry Association or SIA is an organization based in the United States

01:20that is based in the leading companies in the semiconductor industry.

01:25Semiconductors are important in almost all modern technologies,

01:29including computers, smartphones, medical devices, automatic systems, and other technologies

01:38like artificial intelligence, 5G, and cloud computing.
