00:21Following the eruption of Mount Canlaona, President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. announced
00:26that the government is ready to help the affected families.
00:29According to the President, aside from the government's focus on the situation,
00:33he will also not hesitate to help the affected families.
00:37As a matter of fact, he assured the DBM that there is a sufficient fund to send help to the affected families.
00:59We have been evacuated outside the 6-kilometer danger zone.
01:03DSWD also started to send Family Food Packs to the affected areas,
01:08as well as other needs of the affected residents.
01:11At the same time, DNR and DOST moved to assess the situation.
01:15So, it really exploded.
01:18And so, DNR and DOST are continuing to monitor air quality
01:25to see if we need to do more in terms of evacuating
01:31if the levels of toxic gases coming out of the volcano are dangerous.
01:37The Inter-Agency Coordinating Cell is now active for faster response efforts.
01:43Just like the Task Force Canlaon under the Office of the Civil Defense,
01:47they also carried out the forced evacuation inside the 6-kilometer danger zone of the volcano.
01:51That's why the residents were not able to evacuate if needed.
01:55The government is also ready to widen the danger zone to 10 kilometers
01:59when the volcano canlaon was raised to Alert Level 4.
02:03This is asphalt. It depends on the wind.
02:05The seaports won't be affected.
02:07Only the airports will be affected.
02:12But that's the coordination of the government.
02:17DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian also went to Negros Occidental
02:21to personally assess the situation and the needs of the evacuated.
02:25The Mobile Command Center of DSWD Field Office 6 also went there
02:29to provide services to the affected residents.
02:33This includes services for communication, internet connectivity, and power supply.
02:38Meanwhile, an additional 5,000 boxes of Family Food Packs were sent by the DSWD Visayas Disaster Resource Center.
02:45The City Action Team of Canlaon City and other LGUs also immediately moved
02:50to provide relief assistance to the evacuated in evacuation centers.
02:54Transportation, hot meals, medical check-ups, and other assistance were also provided.
