We asked people in Bradford how they're finding the new pedestrianised streets.
Transcript
00:00What do you think about city centres being pedestrianised?
00:04It's all alright, providing there is a parking facility at a reasonable cost to be able to come into the city and park.
00:10From a pedestrian's point of view, they're fantastic, whereby they can walk down in comfort without any trouble with traffic.
00:18But there are problems from people with disabilities who need to be able to get into the city.
00:25What do you think about having all city centres pedestrianised?
00:30I think it's a brilliant idea. There's a better community. It's a safer environment for people.
00:38It's relaxing in certain places. You can go and chill out or you can come on to the busy side of it.
00:44I just think it's a nicer leisurely experience than it used to be.
00:48Has it changed Bradford much?
00:50Yes, I think it's changed it for the better. I love it.
00:53If you walk around Norfolk Gardens now, there's people just sat there relaxing, having the lunch.
01:00Meeting friends. It's just so much safer and nicer, and the environment's better.
01:08Do you think more city centres should be pedestrianised?
01:12No, you're making it anti-car.
01:14And the point is that you're driving people into out-of-town shopping centres.
01:19For the parking.
01:20If you don't identify, you want more and more people that stay hot in the space.
01:26So I look to the electric side of the park.
01:29So I think the picture is a more interesting idea.
01:30Check out this model.
