Yorkshire's Hidden Gems: Leeds, Bradford, Otley, Pateley Bridge and Bradford

Best hidden gems in Yorkshire according to locals.

00:00I have to say, there are places where I can just sit and look, so I love Bob the Shepherd,

00:05I loved the Captain Cook statue at Whitby, and more recently, just looking at the River

00:12Lett and Bayadonks.

00:13I've just come back from a weekend in Caitly Bridge, and that whole area of Nidderdale

00:21is just spectacularly beautiful, really good, honest Yorkshire pub serving proper pub broth,

00:29and there's an amazing sculpture nearby that is the Coldstone Cuts sculpture up there,

00:36Hidden Gem, amazing there.

00:38Yeah, I think we have some fabulous beaches that we don't really champion in Yorkshire,

00:43so like Bridlington, Basie's not even Yorkshire, it is Yorkshire, yeah, so yeah.

00:49Plenty of locally owned cafes and locally owned pubs, but I think my favourite thing

00:54in Otley is the Farmer's Market that we do the last Sunday of every month, and it's just

00:59an amazing thing, plenty of great food from locally sourced suppliers.

01:03Well, I'd be biased to say any place is to say, all down Hyde gets good, you know, the

01:12City Vaults, the quality food there, you know, obviously you've got North Parade, they offer

01:18a different environment to everywhere else, so each part has all got its own bit of different

01:26uniques of, Sunbridge Walls, I don't know much about Sunbridge, I don't go in, I mean

01:30I don't go in Sunbridge Walls, but I hear some decent things about these bars and bottom

01:34bars and stuff, so they're trying their hardest, it's just Bradford's, you know, everybody's

01:41trying to pull together, but I think, you know, with the city culture, we're just hoping

01:46it's going to turn the corner.

01:48I wouldn't say Hidden Gem, but I love the Broadway Shopping Centre, there's so many

01:52great shops in there, an amazing food court, Bradford's duelling the crown, obviously

01:58are the theatres, the Alhambra is amazing, and St George's Hall, I could go on, they're

02:03just brilliant places, and people need to come into Bradford to see these places.
