00:00straight to the podcast Juliet Farrington hosting that one coming up though Liverpool have lost
00:04their most recent game but it is a big win for Chelsea it's a precious three points
00:09as they chase down Champions League football next season
00:13and it's a victory that takes in three points clear of the team
00:29in sixth and seventh Notting Forest and Aston Villa and in terms of the facts of the game
00:36it was 17 shots seven of them on target and that XG of 2.91 is the highest faced in a Premier League
00:44game by Liverpool this season they conceded possession in order to do it with Liverpool
00:48taking 65% of it but Chelsea come away with that 3-1 victory and it was a win that was driven by
00:55the performance of Cole Palmer capped in the end by a penalty from him that he managed to watch
01:02back at the end on the big screens inside the stadium and analyse his own performance he and
01:08Moises Caicedo and now with Patrick Davison
01:10guys well played Cole we've just seen you out watching the highlights on the big screen so give
01:19us your analysis of that match then I thought we played very well as a team you know they're
01:24a champion the champions for a reason but I thought we I've shown desire good fight and yeah
01:31I think we hurt him at times Moises with Champions League qualification kind of on a knife edge big
01:37moments in the season with a lot of pressure how well did Chelsea deal with that yeah I think we did
01:44well the team show character outside you know yeah we are happy we we win this game and pleased to
01:52help Cole out by winning the penalty yeah he he deserve you know he's working hard to to to to get
02:01goals you know now it was his opportunity and his goal I'm so happy over him so Cole you have been
02:07working hard to get goals so how did you feel stood over the penalty cool as ever yeah obviously it
02:13happens I know it's gonna sorry my stuff it happens you know I mean like obviously I went what three
02:19months without scoring but you know it just gives me more motivation and more more fight to to do
02:25well not just for myself but for my team like you know yourself social media nowadays just full of
02:31full of idiots basically and it's not mean like the trolls and that or whatever so I don't pay no
02:37attention to that but to score today um I'm happy but you know it's only one and I've got to keep
02:44improving and trying trying to reach new levels so to summarize that it sounds like it has been a
02:50tough couple of months well for anyone no that's fine no absolutely understand absolutely understand
02:55getting chances you're not scoring just obviously it's gonna because you're letting your team down at
03:00the end of the day personally I feel that how you felt well feel I feel like I'm mentally strong
03:03anyway so whatever people say don't don't bother me I've had it all my whole my life growing up so
03:09I don't really care what I just but obviously I feel pride in helping the team and if I'm not
03:13doing that it makes me obviously I'm not happy so even before the goal today you must have felt
03:18like you'd really helped your team you look like you enjoyed it you had a big influence on the game
03:22no yeah today I felt like like myself I have been up before the you know the recent times I felt
03:28confident I was trying things first time passes playing forwards not just playing free and when
03:35you got him next year it's it's a dream really you guys in attacking areas that get a lot of the credit
03:42how good is he well machine obviously um from the start of the season to now I think he's been our best
03:51player um yeah he's a machine wins that wins everything back always always 100% every day
03:57humble nice to everyone and yeah everyone loves him yeah do you want to repay the compliment Moises
04:02because this guy you know good players have tough moments and Coles maybe had one but there's no doubt
04:07in the quality isn't it no no he's an amazing guy uh always trying hard also uh yeah I'm so happy
04:16for him he helped us a lot even when he didn't score and he helped us and yeah he's he's a great guy
04:24and he deserves everything okay so Cole Palmer back in the goals also playing the match but I'm not
04:30sure you actually agree with that do you I mean I'll take it I thought you were handing it over to
04:36you know Cole Palmer is the player of the match well played well done guys well done a player of
04:47the match performance from Cole Palmer there we have to apologize again for the swearing but
04:51interesting that it came in part of that really emotional answer from him which I think Daniel might
04:56be one of the first times that we've seen him look like more than not bothered about everything he
05:02always seems so cool I really appreciate how much he cares and of course you know he may be somebody
05:10who I feel when he when he does interviews he's quite open about how he feels um and you can see how
05:17much pride he takes in performing to the the level in his mind that he thinks he can reach I think it's
05:23not so much about what everybody else thinks it's more about him knowing okay I've missed chances like he
05:29said and it's when you set your standards high and you want to to reach a certain level in your brain
05:35and you know you're not getting there it hurts deep inside I've been there I'm sure the two gentlemen next
05:40to me have been through it as well and and when you play this game at a big club like Chelsea of course
05:45there's going to be critics you know in the fan base outside noise whatever it may be but what I
05:50really liked about him is that he said he doesn't care about it and of course it might slip through the
05:55cracks because you want to avoid it as a player and you don't look on social media and you you avoid
05:59that stuff but in the end there's other people that might be sending you a little one-liner here
06:02or there and you're thinking I don't want to see any of this stuff because I am concentrating on me
06:07being the best I can possibly be and he's very proud you can see he's very proud with that and
06:12you could see his teammates afterwards as well happy they were for him because they understand how
06:16hard he works behind the scenes so I can't wait to see where he takes it you know in terms of his
06:20abilities because he's an unbelievable football player and all the top players in the world have gone
06:24through difficult periods in their in their career so what he's doing now I can't wait to see where
06:29he takes it they have all gone through difficult periods but not necessarily in this moment which
06:33is he talked about is is not helped at all by everything that goes on on social media and you
06:38talked a little bit about how that could filter through to him even if he's staying off social media
06:43but I want to ask you about this with you know due age respect to Sir Roy and to and to Jamie because you
06:50are because you are such a big presence on social media how do you get that balance between staying
06:55in touch using it for all the the good that it can bring and managing to kind of filter out the people
07:01who don't matter because a lot of people just go around trolling everybody and so their opinion
07:06doesn't count but that's a different thing to deal with logically than it is emotionally it's hard to
07:10navigate you know for me I was somebody who who didn't look at the comments you know because I feel
07:17like it's important to understand that you've got a core group of people that you have a lot of
07:23respect for and a lot of love for but then also by the same token you love the fans and you respect
07:27the fans and you you want their adulation but at the end of the day not everybody's going to be kind
07:32it's it's the nature of the world and that's what the trolls are out there to do getting a kick out of
07:36a reaction potentially and I think for players it's about saying blocking out the noise generally does
07:43mean not engaging in in the comments and just trying to stay level not getting too high when
07:48you know you play well of course you're going to get a thousand text messages and a thousand
07:52posts are going to be about you and everyone's going to love you and then by the same token when
07:56you know you didn't perform well when other people know you didn't perform well you're gonna get hit
08:00with stuff and then you're gonna shy away from it so stay level don't pay too much attention to the
08:05comments or anything and just focus on what matters most which is playing football the one thing that
08:09hasn't changed though is the the personality and the resilience to be able to come back from a
08:15difficult period regardless of where that that criticism is is coming from how impressed are you
08:20with the performance that the palmer has managed to put in at the end of a difficult time I think
08:24as exposed you know we all realize it but you know form is temporary in class is permanent I know
08:29it's the same but it's a fact with someone like him because he's too good a player for it to affect
08:33because he wants to play a week in week old he's having a bit of a laughter and it's good to see
08:36young lads having a bit of enjoyment of course but under pressure nobody likes to be criticized
08:40but again he's one of these players you pay to come and watch him he's that good and there's
08:45football intelligence absolutely amazing brilliant to watch live and it's different now it's just
08:50totally when Roy and I played them the stick you would get would be from a newspaper column or it
08:56would be maybe a phone in on the way home and you'd listen and maybe you know some people saying how good
09:00you were other people maybe criticizing you whereas now what we've done is we've given people a window
09:04into your life by getting a phone by getting social media and when it's good and you play well
09:09or you've done something great you can't wait to read it but there's that one comment that can cut
09:12you to the core if you're maybe just that kind of person a lot of players maybe they get their
09:17agents to do it or whatever but I think what he said there was a great example to all young players
09:22just have to be so careful because you're letting poison into your life you're letting people
09:26be on social media and just abuse you so it's not always healthy because I don't care how mentally
09:32strong you are they could just say one thing that could just affect you and it's totally different
09:36to say it's not just maybe your football it's how you look it's what you do and I think that players
09:40have to be so careful on it it's great to give them like a bit of an example of how you live your
09:44life and a day-to-day and that's fantastic but the other side of it when people have the ability
09:48to just abuse you whenever they want that's not healthy for anyone because it's already hard
09:53enough being a professional footballer the pressure that comes with it the best thing you can do a lot of
09:56time is just turn it off and just get on with being a footballer that's how I see it anyway
09:59and as both both Jamie and Roy have said Daniel the ability was was always there and that's maybe
10:04why when he's been criticized for games and performances by pundits there's never been a
10:09suggestion that his early season form would have been a flash in the pan or anything out of the
10:14ordinary there was always a belief certainly from from people who've played the game that he was going
10:18to come back to this kind of form yeah I mean he's a top player last season was was proof of that
10:23and I think there's been a positional change he was playing on the right last season he's coming to
10:28the into the attacking midfield area this year probably when you're playing in that position
10:32you know I've played wide and understand the freedom you get when you're out there you're
10:36probably facing the play a little bit more and you 1v1 now he's in picking up different positions on the
10:40football pitch so in turn it sometimes is more difficult with your back to play and having to
10:45actually help the team progress the ball forward and you're not so much in those threatening positions
10:50that he was in last season which is in and around the edge of the box so I think this season
10:54because of the slight positional change it's harder to impact the game so I do applaud him
10:57as well for actually having the capability technically tactically to be able to say you
11:02know what I'm in a different position this year and it's gonna it took him a little bit of time to
11:06get his rhythm but now you're seeing what he's capable of doing in that position as well which
11:10is a beautiful thing to see as I said I'm I really love his style I love how he approaches football is
11:15a joy to watch and you know long may it continue for him and what he has done we watch players there who
11:20he sets his standards so high so his difficult spell is still still amazing but what he has
11:26what he has is a football he's got great courage because we're watching there he's making angles
11:30he's wanting the ball and if this is from a player who's having a difficult spell then I take my hat off
11:35to him because the key is for being a footballer and you're playing for you know a big club and there's
11:39big expectation is the courage to want the ball even when deep down sometimes you might want it in tight
11:44areas he's got that courage and I take my hat off to him football needs him in these players like him
11:50in a day and age where the game has got a little bit robotic where players will keep it simple you
11:54don't see too many players too many mavericks if you like that we saw throughout many years it needs
11:59someone like cole palmer that just does think differently when he gets it it's just like time
12:04stands still and I think he's a bad idea right where two goalkeepers wouldn't have saved that brilliant
12:10three goals for chelsea then against the champions at stanford bridge and it's three goals that gives them a big
12:15three points and takes from three points clear of the two teams below them in terms of their race
12:20for champions league football we'll hear what enzo mareska made of it next
12:34a couple of weeks for chelsea it started with a win against liverpool they've got a europa conference
12:40league semi-final second leg which they are headed on thursday they're on the same points and same
12:45goal difference as newcastle and they play each other next week let's hear from enzo mareska he's
12:50a patrick davidson well enzo with a with a big prize at stake in terms of champions league football
12:58how important three points is that very important very important especially at this uh this stage of
13:03the season you know at the end of the season you need to win games and against this team that for me
13:09once again they show the reason why they are so good they won the premier league they force us to defend
13:15deep something that we don't like something that we don't plan but because they are good
13:20sometimes you have to do that and the players they deal very well so i was going to ask that was
13:24going to be my next question anyway like how did you do it today i wondered if it was deliberate to
13:28sort of soak up a bit of pressure and attack quickly but it sounds like not no we plan we plan
13:33the game uh trying to be always aggressive uh in the opposite side playing the way we want but sometimes
13:41the opposite is there and they force you to with a different plan so i think we adapt quite well the
13:47player deal with that very good and at the end i think for the amount of chances that we create we
13:51we deserve to win the game do you think you were able to give them big problems
13:55with cole palmer's position he was massively influential in every single goal yeah absolutely
14:00cole uh uh he will be better and better this kind of moment in his journey in the future will be
14:08will be for sure better and better player did he look like his old self today again cole
14:12i was it was was i think it was good for call it was good for even for nico score again for all of
14:19them do you think we saw that it's easy to look at it and think you've got liverpool a good time
14:25they just won the league but do you think we saw a very good liverpool team you beat you beat liverpool
14:30at something close to their best maybe i said already we didn't plan the game to wait and to defend
14:36deep but because they are so good they have quality they are aggressive they are strong they are quality
14:42player so they force us to defend deep and they show how good they are so for me once again today
14:47they show the reason why they they won the premier league is because they are top side so how impressed
14:51are you with your players in the last few weeks actually because it it looked a bit maybe just from
14:57the outside but it looked like it might be slipping away one nil down at fulham you won that game you
15:02won again last week and you've beaten the champions today yeah but uh i'm very impressed with the
15:07players since we start to be honest because it's not easy to to to since day one to try to play in
15:12different way to try to be aggressive go man to man no matter what they are doing very good now from
15:18outside they can understand that if we you know if we finish top five everyone is thinking that they
15:24have done fantastic in case they are not doing that well but for me i'm i'm impressed with all of
15:28them i know this is something you've been asked again and again but do you think it is vitally important
15:34that you get top five i know you sort of said it's been a good season anyway but maybe just with
15:39the recent history and the culture of this club it's it's a club that wins so to finish outside the
15:44champions league feels like it would be a bigger disappointment for you than it would be for some
15:47of the other clubs around you for sure chelsea has to fight for champion league and hopefully in the
15:54future we can fight for something more important in this moment we are there and hopefully we can finish
15:59there good luck thank you very much so here's where we are as we head into the final three games of
16:06the season for everybody bar not in forest who are at crystal palace tomorrow night these are the the
16:11group of play a group of teams who are going for champions league football next season arsenal losing
16:17last night meant that maybe newcastle have just started to put a little bit of pressure on them in
16:22terms of finishing in in second place but the gap to manchester city is three points newcastle got the draw
16:27today uh then our level on points and goal difference with chelsea play each other next week then it's
16:32forest against villa and then remember forest and chelsea play each other on the final day of the season
16:38so there's still a lot to be decided and obviously the opta supercomputer can't factor in emotions and it
16:44can't factor in the the fact that there are human beings involved in all of this having said that
16:50what do you think i think the momentum is obviously a huge we all talk about it as sportsmen footballers
16:56whatever it is and nottingham forest will be the team now that you just start to fear uh fear about
17:01because there is the performance against brentford was a difficult one for them to take they didn't
17:06they looked a little bit edgy i was at the game they've got to get three points tomorrow on monday
17:11night football that's vitally important just to put the pressure on everybody else and then their fixtures
17:15i just looked to that one and chelsea at home last out of the season and i think right now nottingham
17:21forest would take their chances and go if we can get to that home advantage against them to try and
17:26get into that top five aston villa obviously got it all to do they're going to be relying on other
17:29teams maybe dropping points but this is a pressurized part of the season you need a little bit of luck
17:34chelsea got a little bit of luck today to a certain extent when you see that team sheet and you see no
17:39grabbing birds you see no mccallister no sober sly no canate you're thinking we've got a real chance here today
17:45that's the difference you need a little bit of luck in how the fixtures are maybe playing a
17:49top them if they've got a big cup game united you need you need things to go your way but right now
17:54chelsea feel like they've got that momentum got a bit of form back and not in the forest at the
17:59moment you'd have to fear for them a little bit except that they do have the city ground which as
18:03you mentioned is that the venue for the last game of the season against against chelsea they've used
18:08that before in in recent history to try and keep themselves in the premier league can they use it again
18:13to try and get themselves into yeah they've obviously come off it recently but i think if
18:16you if you look at forest and you spoke to the forest players you said would you took this as
18:20the start of the season they would have been delighted they've had a difficult few weeks and
18:23again we go back to forest where they play the first goal is huge for them in every game if they
18:27get it you think they can sit in but every time they give up a goal the first goal don't look like
18:31they can win a game so yeah i think if you said forest and chelsea at the end of the season maybe
18:35winner takes all you look at villa where they are at the moment obviously villa spurs and united to
18:39playing as far as villa are distracted by cups united look like they'll never win another game
18:44in the league so um yeah it's interesting and we talk about that what big word momentum confidence
18:50players off the bench and forest at the moment you'd fear from but big big game from is it tomorrow night
18:56yeah big game from and with all of the the fixtures in there there are very few of them daniel that you
19:00can look at and say you know exactly which version of those teams are going to turn up in those games
19:05yeah i mean it's going to be you can see that there's there's a lot of head-to-heads um for
19:09all the teams that are vying for those those five spots so it's i'm just really excited to see to
19:15see them get to get to work because it's how they how they shape up tactically and and how the managers
19:21will approach these games but given that you know some of them may take a point in some of the games
19:25some of them will will go for it i think that that last game that you know chelsea nottingham forest is
19:31going to be the one that is going to be the most interesting out of all of them i would say because
19:35it you know that game is all to play for literally winner takes all it's that's the thing that as
19:42a player you want your destiny in your hands and you know that as long as you take care of business
19:46that you get to perform on the biggest stage so it's down to the players to to show up and show out
19:50at least part of the celebrations here at stanford bridge today with with that win suggests that that
19:55they think this is a huge game in terms of champions league qualification do you think that
20:00it's a it's a big three points for chelsea that can take them into the champions league next season
20:04but it found some confidence and it felt a little bit more connection with the fans when oh i think
20:08when chelsea play at their best there's a bit more energy about them when they played against top
20:12them they were excellent i think when they're passive and they play out from the back i don't
20:16think the fans connect with it they don't want to see it want to see the football a bit further
20:19forward with the better players getting on the ball i felt like levi colwell at times today when he was
20:25he was coming out of center back position going at the midfield playing you know and that was energy about
20:29it and that set the tempo i mean they had to sit back it didn't perhaps have the possession that
20:33they would normally expect but that's because liverpool came into the game but you always knew
20:36on the break they could do something do something really different so when you look at that that
20:40how that's that that the whole title race is shaped with top five title race is going to be so
20:45interesting because you need the right fix you need things to go your way you need a little bit of
20:49luck as well and players in banging form and i think that how good cole palmer was today that's going
20:54to have a massive impact on the rest of the season for them so arsenal seven points clear of sixth place
21:00with nine to to play for 12 if you count nottingham forest the rest of the teams all bunched up very
21:06nicely so is it a bit early to call it for chelsea yet in terms of where they finish no but it just
21:10on the back of today's result they'll obviously have belief you see the feel good factor amongst
21:14the players it seems a good spirit amongst them and you need your star players to step up with the
21:18crunch games and obviously people like palmer all of a sudden are turning up you see forest one or two
21:23forest players getting a bit tightening up when you see the finishing line because that's the
21:26challenge for players all along when teams particularly we have to look at forest they've
21:30been going along nicely but then all of a sudden the expectation is that champions league is there
21:34for you and it's right in front of them and they almost have it and then you start slipping up and
21:37you lose that maybe confidence and belief you look where aston villa maybe maybe somebody will be on
21:42goal difference but it's so it's so hard to call it so tight um he asking me who i think he's going to
21:48make it no it's there might and it probably will be some twists and turns over next few weeks and
21:52that's what that's what makes it so exciting you see villa win the weekend i thought it was a really
21:56good game against fulham i really enjoyed that they were up for it they're trying to score goals
21:59and there's excitement next weekend it could be another twist could be one bad decision a mistake
22:03from a player and before you know it you're out of the champions league and any mistake now you're
22:07thinking next year will obviously cost you because you're running all the games huge pressure every
22:11weekend we're going to ask you the question every weekend i'm expecting everybody to give different
22:14answers as well as there are twists and turns in the race for champions league football and liverpool
22:20have no such pressures on them at the moment they will have wanted to get the victory today
22:24but already crowned champions last week so we'll hear what on a slot made of this latest performance next
22:29last week on a slot led liverpool to their 20th top flight title today they've been beaten
22:453-1 at stanford bridge by chelsea let's hear from the liverpool boss with patrick davidson
22:50in terms of the the big picture i guess it doesn't matter but no one likes to lose especially champion
23:00teams don't like to lose so what did you make of that no a wise man once said nothing good comes from
23:07losing a football game and i have to agree with him but um the way we lost is more is more positive i
23:16think i think i think i saw a team that was playing against a very good chelsea team a very good squad so
23:22many individual uh individually so many good players so well organized but we were able to have here at
23:28stanford bridge 65 ball possession played so many times through them but yeah maybe we missed just that
23:35little bit which we usually have so normally we're also able to find the the free player but the last
23:41percentages in attack and defense we maybe missed today to get a result so what cost you that few
23:47percent is that even with the players out there meaning to give their all trying to give their all
23:54there's just the difference between wanting to win and needing to win and today you need to win
23:59yeah yeah that is true but um if you look at how we reacted after being 2-0 down that probably tells you
24:05why we've won this league because they never gave up even if they've already won the league and they're
24:092-0 down at stanford bridge against such a good team we don't give up our fans don't give up as well
24:15they look like they thoroughly enjoyed their day to be honest yeah they were allowed again so um
24:19yeah we slipped twice in the lead up to both chelsea goals and of course the third one was
24:24so far an extra time that yeah it's a goal but it didn't matter that much anymore but uh yeah um playing
24:31against a good team like chelsea yeah you can't afford a lot and um that's what we saw today
24:36with one eye on the future giving game time to players who haven't had so much game time
24:43what did you learn today i think a few things i've already knew but it's always good to see
24:50some of them playing now together with four five or six starters so a few of them have come in many
24:58times but but but to start most of them started against blimouth away psv and open away and now
25:05to see them playing with the other ones gives you not new insights but um but does give you insights
25:12is it overstating it maybe you think this is over the top but some of those guys who come into the team
25:18are they playing for their liverpool futures a bit they obviously want more minutes next season and they
25:23only have these few games to convince you they deserve those minutes no the last thing that's
25:29what it's about they deserve to play these games because they've trained so hard during the whole
25:33season uh so many times a day after the match where the other ones played and everyone was so positive
25:38about them and they had to come to the axa again to train and then every time they did so well so that's
25:43why i think uh that they deserved to play this game but it's not the first time that i saw them play
25:49they've come in many times they've played to plymouth in the psv and and some other games as well
25:54uh acranton stanley and can't come up quite in a way for the league cup so just we don't judge them
26:00only on this we judge them every single day on the training ground and the moments um they they play for
26:06us it seems a bit odd almost to say this to a team that's just won the league but does it feel like
26:12there's a big summer ahead in terms of adding to this squad changing the squad i did an interview with
26:17you on friday where you were talking about you already spoke to maybe a few players trying to
26:21sell them the liverpool dream now it's already a big summer because we extended virgil and mo and
26:28for large parts of the season i don't think everybody expected that so um so for us to keep them
26:35is already a big thing and yeah we will we will see what what the summer will bring but i've said many
26:42times i'm really happy with the squad we are having but it is also true that's the second year in a row
26:47these boys these players are together and sometimes can be good to bring some fresh energy as well
26:52but last time last year we decided just to keep them all so we will just see what we will do but
26:59it's already been a big summer because we and we won the league and we kept virgil and mo and
27:03nothing better i guess than adding to a winning team kind of strike while the iron's hot i think is the
27:08phrase yeah yeah but only if we see a chance in the market or we think if we can see someone who can
27:14improve us and it's not so easy to improve this team because it's already a team that won the
27:19premier league that was so so so good against britain jama at home where unfortunately uh we lost that
27:26that on penalties thank you anna you're welcome well what honest lot has said today is that it's
27:33already a big summer because he's extended the contracts of mohammed salah and virgil van dyke
27:37but as patrick asked him what he's given a hint to is that he is talking about players coming in over
27:41the summer where do you think they they need to strengthen even though they've won the league
27:45by 15 points at this that would mean nothing at the saturday next season you know the whole idea
27:49enough for liverpool is to kick on and back that up you don't want to delete title and go that's it
27:53relax for a few years that's what all the great teams do in the top team so that's the next challenge
27:57for liverpool they've already obviously got a goal keep coming in you're thinking maybe possibly a
28:02left back a centre-half there's any injuries of course and uh potentially i would say a striker
28:07but obviously you've got to go and get quality one so i still think the manager will definitely
28:11be looking at strengthening of course but it's easier said than done we've done a great position
28:15they've won the league it'll be a big attraction to lots of players he's a quality manager players
28:20who might be interested in coming to liverpool will be looking at the top players already staying
28:23there and committing to the club so that's all pluses it's no matter of going out and getting these
28:27quality players that will improve liverpool because i've said it many times before win the league's
28:32fantastic you've got to back it up again next year as roy said mama dashville is coming in in
28:36the summer that's already been been agreed where else do you think that they they need to strengthen
28:42either in terms of their first choice or in terms of backup i think it's you know they're certainly
28:49an attacker um for sure i think a striker you know jutter is is been the main man um as long as
28:58luis diaz and darwin but i think that they probably do need another striker potentially backup for
29:04for more a player who can learn from him um and come in the squad on that right side um and then
29:11of course you've got a lock up canate as well i know that maybe we could talk about them potentially
29:16bringing in defensive help we've talked about last at the start of the season whether they're going to
29:19bring in a defensive midfielder and graver birch has stepped up so whether they're still going to be
29:23thirsty for that i'm unsure but certainly i think signing canate is very important because you know his
29:29partnership with virgil van dyke's been key to the team's success so tying him down to a contract i
29:34think is is the next thing they they need to do imminently because we've seen the talk this season
29:40around the contracts and you know trent verge mo we don't want that going on with canate next season
29:46so i think that's an important signing for the football club to have that consistency in defense
29:50it's always good to have a partnership that you can rely on and trust and have that triangle with the
29:54goalkeeper um so i think that's an important signing for them the name that keeps being linked
29:59with liverpool and won't go away is is kirkes from from bournemouth um is if that is a signing that
30:06happens is it somebody who comes in and plays instead of andy robertson or who shadows him throughout
30:11the the season and and learns from him in the way that that daniel's suggesting that somebody could come
30:15in and do that with muhammad salah i certainly wouldn't write off andy robertson just yet he's still a
30:20top player great professional i would make sure that i keep him even you do bring in kirkes and
30:25have a little bit of competitions no problem with that kirkes has been amazing for bournemouth
30:30i've watched him since he first come in he's aggressive he's that he's like a younger version
30:34and that's going to be the key i'm sure that you know richard hughes and michael edwards will be
30:38looking who can we now bring in because you've also got to think although it's great news that
30:42muhammad salah sign and virgil van dyke it's two-year contracts who can how can we find the next one
30:48how can we find the next commanding young center back how can we find the next muhammad salah
30:53that's not going to be easy because replacing them they're fundamental they're so important
30:56for this team but they are players that you've got to look to do eka tk's had a mention for
31:01liverpool a player that you know is a striker it hasn't worked out for darwin nunez it just i
31:06felt really positive about when he first signed that might be a player that we might see that surplus
31:10requirements at some point and then they bring in another striker in his place but it doesn't need
31:14major surgery who just won the title and isn't it nice to be able to sit and talk about it rather
31:18than have to go and find those next stars of the future
