00:00It was all cheers in the Labour camp
00:05as a Liberal stronghold in Adelaide's East was torn down.
00:13But on her first day, Claire Clutterham took a rare moment
00:17for a quiet coffee with colleagues.
00:19It's day one, we're starting.
00:21We're going to deliver on the promises that we made.
00:24It's the first time the seat of Sturt has left Liberal hands
00:28since the early 70s.
00:30We as a party need to be honest about the result tonight.
00:34We need to think about it, reflect on it, understand it
00:39and we need to change.
00:41If this isn't rock bottom, then in not too long
00:45there won't be much of a party.
00:47So it's critical that people see this as the chance
00:50to turn the corner.
00:51In the southern suburb seat of Boothby,
00:54Labour's Louise Miller-Frost held onto her seat convincingly.
00:57At the end of the day, it comes down to
00:59are we delivering for the community?
01:01We have delivered for the last three years.
01:03We need to continue to deliver.
01:06The win comes despite a challenge
01:07from well-known former Liberal MP Nicole Flint.
01:10It's disappointing that we are conceding
01:13the seat of Boothby tonight.
01:15It's disappointing for us,
01:17but it's disappointing for the Australian people.
01:21It was a campaign also buoyed
01:23by the local popularity of the state government.
01:26I'm so grateful for the result.
01:28It's really important because it means
01:29we can just keep that partnership working
01:31in a way that delivers to people
01:32and that's all that matters.
01:34The resounding loss in SA leaves
01:36only the regional seats of Gray and Barker
01:39in Liberal hands in the lower house.
01:42While in the Senate,
01:43the Greens have kept Sarah Hansen-Young's seat
01:46and Labor is projected to score
01:48an unexpected third senator, Charlotte Walker,
01:51who also celebrated her 21st birthday yesterday.
