00:58It's been interesting, you know, like this step on, step off, you know, guys going to the inside, to the outside.
01:07It's quite, you know, pretty close, and we need to see which one is going to get the best line at the end of the day.
01:11With the sun going down, I think that's going to really help this racetrack from not drying out, Seb.
01:23I mean, it was so hard. Sun beating down on it all day long and making it difficult for some of these riders.
01:29And now it looks like, now that there's some shade covering, it's holding pretty good moisture.
01:35I mean, yeah, we saw the whoops getting blue grooves. I mean, it was amazing.
01:38You know, when I see the guys, they were watering the track, and I'm like, please don't touch the whoops.
01:43We're going to be, like, ice skating out there.

01:45So they did a good job not touching it, and the guys are able to go through it super fast.
01:50Well, we haven't gotten to talk to you, or I haven't gotten to talk to you about this,
01:53but tell us about, have you ridden the last chance qualifier before?
01:57I did race the last chance qualifier one time.
02:00And it was one too many times?

02:04I was like, you know, and actually I was not qualified until the last corner.
02:08Oh, man.
02:10And then the guys on the front, you know, they played their life.

02:14And, you know, they took each other out, and I was able to qualify.
02:17And I'm like, I promised myself from that point on, I'm like, I'm not going to make the last chance anymore.

02:24Well, we're watching Revan Gordon here, and I just wanted to also mention, guys,
02:27I was in more than one LCQ, just for the record, want to throw that in.
02:30But Revan Gordon here is on the bubble trying to get into this main event,
02:33and if that name sounds familiar, his brother, Landon Gordon, has been winning these SMX Next races.
02:39So a family affair.
02:40And then up the field a little further, Lux Turner in second.
02:44His sister, Lala Turner, is one of the best women racers on the planet.
02:48So a lot of, a lot going on here in the LCQ, but SMX is a family affair, as usual.
02:54Well, it's a big night, too, for the race leader, CJ Bernard, who has never made it to a main event.
03:00This is a huge opportunity.
03:03He's crushing it right now, riding extremely well.
03:07Man, it's amazing, too, Sam, as you know, like what a start can do, not only for your confidence,
03:12but especially in this last chance qualifier, because I'm sure, as you can attest,
03:16they race different than the last chance qualifiers.
03:18I mean, you've got eyes behind your helmet, aren't you?
03:21It's like reverse.
03:22But it's, you know, I mean, these guys need to get out there.
03:26All shot, you know, is keys.
03:27You know, like, I mean, most of the start, if you get the all shot,
03:30you get 90% of the race already secured.
03:33But on this one, I'm like, you know, you need to make sure that the guy behind you
03:36doesn't come on your inside and take you out.
03:38And, you know, these guys are kind of teammates, you know, they've been out there for a while.
03:42They know that they don't need to take each other out.
03:44You know, one and two is like, okay, I race, but we just want to make it to the main.
03:48I'm not going to take a chance to take you out.
03:50But the guy which is in fourth and the fifth, you know,
03:53that's the guys you need to watch out for, because, I mean, you know,
03:56on the last corner, you can see anything happening.
03:58Yeah.
03:58Well, Seb, on that topic, talking about teammates and not taking each other out earlier,
04:03oh, Revan Gordon went down.
04:05So that is his chances of making it through to the main, gone.
04:09Going back to these two AEO Power Sports KTM riders,
04:13earlier in the day, in the final time qualifying,
04:17Lux Turner, once the gate dropped and everybody roared down into turn one,
04:21unfortunately, he was collected by his other teammate, Avery Long.
04:25They both went down.
04:27That affected his qualifying chances.
04:29It was just kind of a snowball effect.
04:31So to see him with another teammate in such a prioritized position,
04:35going through to the main, leaping his way into the lead,
04:39the day has turned around for Lux Turner.
04:41That was nice execution by Lux Turner,
04:44able to come out of that corner before the whoops a little bit earlier,
04:48get a nice straight run,
04:49and then he positioned himself so he'd be on the inside coming into that 90-degree corner.
04:53I mean, that's what you need to look at.
04:55You know, when you race, you cannot follow the guy in front of you.
04:58But I mean, if you follow the guy in front of you, there's no chance for you to pass him.
05:01If he does a mistake, I mean, you run right into his backhand.
05:05So you need to be, you know, open enough to kind of, you know,
05:08get a separate line and then be able to be good.
05:10So we can see the guys are battering out there on the track.
05:13And you know how it is, too, Sab, to get Cole Thompson.
05:17Oh, trying to make a move.
05:19He was nice.
05:20He was nice to Bernard there.
05:21I mean, it's coming for the whoops.
05:24I think he's going to go and get his line and he's capable of passing and stretching the whoops.
05:30Oh, that was a good run through Bernard on the whoops.
05:32Now he's starting to triple after the whoops.
05:34He wasn't doing that early at the beginning of the race.
05:39Parker Ross holds on to that all-important fourth and final transfer position.
05:43We're inside the final two laps.
05:46Lux Turner, C.J. Bernard, Cole Thompson,
05:48who just narrowly missed out on making it straight through to the main in his heat by one position.
05:55It was super tight.
05:57He was involved in a really good scrap with Jordan Smith.
06:00Man, can you imagine the emotions right now for C.J. Bernard?
06:05This first-ever Supercross main event,
06:08if he can hold it together for a half a lap.
06:10He tried to qualify in Seattle.
06:15It didn't work out.
06:16He qualified 21st today.
06:18And here he is running in second in the last chance qualifier.
