00:00...comos a way with the victory or the overall Grand Prix win here in Race 2.
00:09Fly Racing 15-second border, that's about to turn to 5.
00:1430 minutes plus 2.
00:18The Portuguese Grand Prix is about to come to a close.
00:21And once again it's the 96th of Sassho, er, Lucas Koonen.
00:26Sorry, he went around the outside, but was Roman Bevere over the line before him or not?
00:30It was very, very tight between them.
00:34Certainly, though, it's as you were in Race 1, and the qualifying race, actually.
00:40Lucas Koonen leading the way from Roman Fevre.
00:43Vallandre now in third position, but to the outside.
00:46Ruben Fernandes looking to find his way through.
00:50And does, just nicks into the top of the hill there.
00:58Just behind them.
01:00Here's Maxime Renault, 5th in Race 1, the two Yamahas, Linus Stern, 4th and 5th on this opening lap there.
01:08Then Koldenov in 6th.
01:107th for Bonacorsi, Jonas 8th, Hurlings 9th, Bogus is out there, and he is in 10th place on the Fantic.
01:17Koldenov picked up a 5-point penalty in Race 1.
01:20Finished 8th, but was deemed to have jumped on the yellows, and obviously that rule coming in last year.
01:30Single file.
01:31You're just waiting for somebody to take that outside line and open up that turn at the top of the hill, aren't you?
01:35Jump down the middle of the track, as we saw in MX2.
01:38But opening lap, go defensive, just in case.
01:45Fevre taking a tight line into this 180 left.
01:49Nothing in it between him and Van Donick taking a trip down to Terra Firma once again.
01:57It's not been his weekend, but Koonen and Fevre, the pace-setters in Race 2.
02:14Both feet off the pegs, so both riders through that very deep rut.
02:18Look how choppy it is.
02:19We've lost Maxime Renault.
02:21Renault's down to 13th position.
02:23We saw Valana there in 4th.
02:27So Maxime Renault then, taking a tip.
02:33Oh, coming out of the turn there, look.
02:35Was that a high side?
02:36Kind of like Siwa did yesterday, potentially.
02:39Again, throwing away the opportunity of a good start and potentially a good finish.
02:43Mud on the gloves.
02:45Not the way he wanted to get through the opening lap here in this second race, Maxime Renault.
02:49Lucas Koonen putting him some distance between himself and Roman Fevre.
02:58Hurling's dropping down the hill.
03:00He's in 7th place at the moment, just ahead of Pauls Jonas.
03:05A little off-balance there, coming out of that right hand up.
03:07And then coming up short, not getting the drive.
03:11But the Bullitt, who was up and down the leaderboard in Race 1, started in 8th position, eventually came home in 10th.
03:22Up onto the plateau.
03:23He's in 7th place.
03:26Bonakorsi-Koltenov just ahead of him.
03:28And it was Renault.
03:30Falling from 5th down to 10th.
03:34The reason why some of those riders were elevated towards the end of that lap.
03:39But it's Lucas Koonen who leads about 2 seconds clear of Roman Fevre at the moment.
03:42Fernandes 3rd.
03:44Fernandes 3rd in Race 1 as well, behind Koonen and Fevre.
03:47So it's as you were in Race 1 on the opening laps of Race 2.
03:52And that would be your podium, if things were to stay like that as well.
03:57Fallandre in 4th.
03:58Bonakorsi in 5th.
04:02The Hoth and Hurlings, just here.
04:056th and 7th position.
04:06Then Jonas.
04:12Brian Bogers, coming in.
04:15Shoulder seems okay, but they're just looking down at something on the bike.
04:18And they're just saying, maybe we just need to park it.
04:21So, a very tough day for Bogers here today.
04:28Yeah, Koonen's fancying that middle line now.
04:31Didn't like the inside rut on the opening lap.
04:33Right, Jeremy Seaworth's going down the leaderboard.
04:40So he was in 9th place.
04:43Don't tell me it's the same as he did yesterday.
04:45Same corner, he just tips over.
04:47Renault goes by.
04:51And Renault takes a position away from him.
04:53Battle for the lead.
04:57Heating up though.
04:58Fevra going for the Grand Prix victory.
05:00He said that in his pre-race interview.
05:04Said it's difficult to finish second when you know you're quicker than the rider ahead of him.
05:07And the rain is starting to fall, but who will rain here in Portugal?
05:15Kunen, two laps complete.
05:252.14.
05:30Inside line.
05:31Oh, Maximiliano down again.
05:34Tips over.
05:34Couple riders, two, three, four riders going by.
05:39So Maximiliano started fifth.
05:43Fell down to about 10th.
05:46Just waiting for him to cross the line to see where he re-emerges.
05:50Siwa in ninth.
05:52Renault in 10th.
05:53Watson up to 11th on that MRT beta.
05:58Watson very quiet in race one in 14th place.
06:01Roma Fevera, no intentions of being quiet in this second race.
06:09As he gets back onto the rear wheel of Lucas Kunen.
06:13Kunen holding that deep inside line.
06:16Trying to shorten the corner off as much as possible.
06:23Rupert Fernandes just losing a little bit of ground in the background,
06:25but he's only three seconds off of the guys ahead of him.
06:28Volandran, two seconds further back.
06:30Then we've got a gap,
06:31and then heading down that hill in the background
06:32is Bonokorsi, Koldenov, and Hurlix.
06:37Oh, body language there from Kunen.
06:40Half looked like he was going to jump,
06:41and then did and came up short
06:43over that monster jump.
06:45Is he looking at another 1-1 here this weekend?
06:54Back-to-back 1-1s.
07:01Does Roman Fevera have a thing to say about that?
07:07Rupert Fernandes looking solid in third at the moment.
07:20Like a home Grand Prix for the Spaniard
07:23on that Honda HRC machine.
07:25Even if Volandran finds his way past,
07:32he's going to be on the podium third overall
07:34because Volandran, 12th in race one.
07:38Volandran, though, would love a top three finish, wouldn't he?
07:41The rider who sits 10th in the championship,
07:43got a third in race one in Spain in the mud.
07:45The Yamaha man clearly fancying his chances.
08:00Zene with the pit board to Rupert.
08:12Nice little smiling emoji on there, wasn't there?
08:15Nothing in it again, top of the hill
08:20between Coonan and Fevera.
08:23Coonan.
08:27Had to straighten up there, didn't he?
08:32That forward momentum, though, you need it, don't you?
08:35Easier to jump down something
08:37as opposed to roll and roll again.
08:39If you can jump it, that is.
08:42Like a big downhill berm there, isn't it?
08:44That rut.
08:47Don't rush it.
08:49And again, off the side of the track, a little bit there.
08:52Or slightly offline, I should say.
08:54For Coonan.
08:55Gone back to the inside now.
08:59The Australian Grand Prix, not till the end of September.
09:01That rut's so deep.
09:05Mr. Myrtle there, on the right-hand side, with Sasha Coonan.
09:12As Lucas Coonan continues to lead, whilst everybody looks on down there,
09:23pit lane from Kawasaki and from KTM.
09:26How this battle will play out.
09:29Coonan gave Fevera half a sniff at taking the lead.
09:32He took it, but it was snatched right back in that first race.
09:36Fevera will not want to make the same mistake twice.
09:38So, if he is going to launch his attack, he needs to know where it is,
09:42how he's going to do it, and make sure that it sticks.
09:46Guadagnini.
09:49Staying up.
09:50Surfing the wall there.
09:51Right, I need it in 12th position.
09:58Four laps complete.
10:04Still next to nothing between the first two riders.
10:07Fastest lap in race one.
10:092.22.7.
10:11So far, the fastest lap has been a 2.13.1.
10:14Thank you to the, or thanks, to the improved conditions.
10:19That's that down to the work from the track crew, of course, in the break.
10:25Fernandez keeping these two honest, isn't he?
10:28Just senses a bit of a cat and mouse going on, a little bit of chess.
10:31No one really wanted to push just at the moment, just pacing themselves.
10:35It's not that kind of racetrack, is it, where you can race it and put a gap.
10:41Five quick laps just to break the opponent.
10:43It's a difficult position to be in, though, because you sit there thinking, yeah, I'm comfortable leading the way.
10:53But for about one and a half, two seconds behind, doesn't sound like it's about to challenge me.
10:58It's not threatening me at the moment.
10:59So then you just say, well, you know what, I'll keep this pace.
11:03All of a sudden, the rider behind things, we can go, we can up the pace here.
11:06Then that's where they spring the attack.
11:08Here's Max and Renault.
11:10He's in 10th place.
11:12Going after Jeremy Seawer.
11:14Both riders opt for the inside line.
11:16Both riders having issues in this corner in the race.
11:20Max and Renault on the opening lap when he was fifth.
11:21Jeremy Seawer, roll-off film.
11:39Flapping off the side of the helmet there, which means he's down to zero visibility as it stands right now.
11:46So he's going to be having to do the thumb wipe, which is only effective if your gloves are clean.
11:51Which means you can't afford to go down on the left-hand side.
12:01Jeremy Seawer in 9th place at the moment.
12:07Still only 1.3 seconds between these two, though, as they continue to dispute not only the race win, but also the overall Grand Prix victory.
12:15Because Kunin, victorious in race 1 from Roman Fevre, he switched those positions in race 2.
12:22They tie on points, but it's going to be the best result in race 2, which will be Roman Fevre.
12:26And it will be he who stands on the top step of the podium as a result of that.
12:37Kunin was a bit more efficient through those two turns, that right and left, wasn't he?
12:41They're going to have to find a new line there as well, though, because obviously the harder you hit that step up, you saw the back end swinging from left to right.
12:51And that was maybe an eighth throttle, if you like, quarter throttle, just to sort of test that route.
12:57Both riders very wary.
13:00That part of the racetrack.
13:01Kevin Brummel up to 15th, Roman Fevre up to 17th, here it's in 18th, as we look down the leaderboard.
13:23Still not much happening apart from this chess match at the head of the field.
13:28The muddiest chessboard you ever saw, isn't it?
13:33All of a sudden, Kunin looks like he's about to turn things up a little bit, just to test the resolve of Roman Fevre.
13:41Here's Renault, still on the back of Siwa.
13:45Jonas just ahead of him, in eighth.
13:50Hurling's about eight seconds further up the track, in seventh place.
13:53There's a horrible knuckle on the take-off of that monster energy jump, both Siwa and Renault caught it, and you heard the panic rev of Max and Renault there as well.
14:07And you saw the angle of the bike change direction.
14:12A little bit nose-heavy.
14:14A mistake there for Siwa.
14:15And now's Renault to gain, but he was in the same run, so he couldn't do anything about it anyway.
14:21Sorry, Renault would be frustrated, throwing away that fifth on the opening lap.
14:36Especially after finishing fifth in race one, with a bit of a push in and around Fernandes and Volandran.
14:46Who knows, could have been eyeing up a potential podium.
14:49All hypothetical, but not into that.
14:53A hypothetical ifs, buts, maybes, shoulda, woulda, couldas.
14:57Six laps complete.
15:04Lucas Coonan, the fastest lap of the race.
15:07Only by about half a second.
15:092.13, 0.46, 2.13.6 for Fevera.
15:136.52, if you want to be exact.
15:16Here's Kevin Horgmo.
15:18He's got a nice line there, within track limits, but going around the flood.
15:21Korgmo in 13th place at the moment.
15:29Seventh in race one, the Norwegian, on that Honda Motor Blues SR Motul machine.
15:36Looks like he's got a damaged or a flapping rad shroud on the left-hand side.
15:44Everything looks all right, but then you just don't know what's lurking beneath.
15:48Saw him just get pitched out of his seat there.
15:51He's nicely over that, though, isn't he?
15:55What I meant earlier, about finding those lines to get yourself up and over,
15:59and that gives him good drive to go by.
16:02101, Guedanini.
16:03Horgmo now up in the 12th place.
16:14Jeffrey Herlings here, number 84.
16:184.7 seconds down on the Hoth.
16:21Lucas Koonen, two seconds clear of Fevre at the head of the field, though.
16:28Fight in the front, that's down that first hill, isn't it?
16:31Just after the start.
16:33Both he and Fevre did a similar thing at the start of the qualifying race yesterday.
16:37So, that part of the racetrack.
16:4732.
16:49Brent Van Donenck, just outside of the points at the moment.
16:52Jeremy Siwa.
16:53Oh, look at the balance, look at the upper body work there.
16:58He chin himself there as well, punched himself in the chin there with a left hook.
17:02As he wrestled the front of that Ducati.
17:05Catching one or two holes, then the handlebars going one way to the other,
17:08and he was so low behind the bars, like,
17:10He's knocked himself out.
17:17Fevre, just like race one, tenacious and patient.
17:20In abundance.
17:25Maxime Renaud finally finds his way past Jeremy Siwa.
17:28Pushes best lap of the racing to 16.3.
17:31Now moves up to nine.
17:32It's three and a half seconds down on Paul's Jonas.
17:37Lisa Leyland is down in pit lane.
17:40She's getting ready to talk to Davide Di Kali.
17:42Red Bull KTM Factor Racing, as Lucas Koonen continues to lead.
17:45Davide Di Kali, Lucas is clearly riding with a lot of confidence
17:53after his victory last weekend.
17:55He wants another double race win victory,
17:57but will he be able to deal with the threat of Fevre behind him?
18:01Yeah, of course, he wants another win,
18:04but, yeah, at the moment, the situation here is quite tricky,
18:09very deep in front of the track,
18:10but he shows some good speed already since yesterday
18:14and before first moto.
18:16Now they are battling hard.
18:19One guy is faster in one sector,
18:22the other guy is faster in the other sector,
18:23so, yeah, we will see if we can keep from hand
18:26because he's really good.
18:28But I believe in Lucas that he can win.
18:30Lucas is young, Lucas is fearless.
18:33How do you manage his emotions right now?
18:36Now, the important thing is to stay calm at the moment.
18:40Of course, when the gate drops, he always wants to win.
18:45But the main thing in this championship is to be constant,
18:49and then we will see in the middle of the season where we are,
18:54but the goal for sure is the world championship.
18:56Nice luck to the team. Thank you.
18:57Just offline there during that interview, got heavy.
19:12Out to the left-hand side,
19:13where they've obviously shifted a lot of the dirt.
19:17He's got a nice inside line there.
19:18That was effective, and so, too, is Beveres
19:20as he goes high and wide and cuts back to that same inside
19:23as they hit that little step down.
19:28Both riders getting over that step now onto that plateau as well.
19:32Just under 11 minutes plus two laps remain.
19:34MXGP race two.
19:39Paul Jonas looking at fifth overall
19:41on his first ride back.
19:45Since that injury inside India,
19:48he was fifth overall in France at the round of Europe.
19:51Saint-Jean-d'Angeli as well.
19:53Vevra nicely up on the pegs through there,
20:04but just cost himself a little bit of time at the moment.
20:072.3 seconds, but as David Aydikali says,
20:10he's some rider, you know,
20:12one of the riders, Kunin,
20:13is faster in one sector,
20:15Vevra faster in another sector or two.
20:17So they kind of have that yin-yang,
20:19that yo-yo effect at the moment.
20:20And here's Calvin Balanran.
20:22He has caught Ruben Fernandez.
20:24This will be for third place.
20:25Doesn't matter to Ruben Fernandez,
20:27but he would like to be on the podium
20:28with a 3-3 rather than a 3-4,
20:30especially with less than 10 minutes to go.
20:33Did he just come to a...
20:34No, he didn't.
20:35I was about to say,
20:36did Fernandez just come to a bit of a halt there,
20:37but it's just he went wider
20:39and then it's where that line
20:40just tightens up all of a sudden
20:41midway through.
20:47Very much a track that you have to ride, isn't it?
20:50Have to respect it.
20:52These guys are doing,
20:53testing the boundaries,
20:54but no one wants to push the envelope too far.
20:57Bit of a pitch there
20:59for the Honda rider.
21:01Saw him straighten up on mid-flight.
21:09Still impressive though
21:10for Fernandez.
21:12Still chasing his first podium of the season.
21:14Got a fourth in Cozar
21:15in his home race.
21:18Castilla-La Mancha.
21:19That was round two.
21:24Three times finishing
21:26inside the top 10 this year.
21:28Sixth in Sardinia,
21:29fifth overall in Trentino.
21:33But to get a podium here,
21:36just south of where he lives,
21:38and then to go to his home Grand Prix,
21:42not a million miles away from here,
21:43four hours by car,
21:45north-east
21:48into that Galicia region of Spain.
21:53That'll set him up a treat, won't it?
21:58Hurlings.
22:02Was there a Fantic behind him?
22:04Yes, there was.
22:05And it's Koldenhoff.
22:06So he's found his way.
22:07He's been chipping away.
22:09Find his way down the inside,
22:11hanging off the back.
22:12And he finds his way up
22:14into sixth place.
22:15Splits the two Fantic's
22:18of Bonacorsi and the Hoth.
22:29How far is Bonacorsi?
22:31Further up the track.
22:32About 4.6 seconds.
22:41Again, everybody just looks across.
22:43He's fancies his chances, doesn't he?
22:49Got the distance.
22:51Cut to the inside.
22:52Stayed nice and low.
22:53Got on the back wheel.
22:55Nice and early as well.
22:57He'd already hit his single.
22:58as the Hoth was airborne.
23:00Hurlings was driving down past pit lane.
23:07Already starting to pull clear
23:08of Glenn.
23:11He'll look across as well
23:12just to keep a check on where
23:15Bonacorsi is.
23:23Do the gaps as they get over the line
23:25this time around.
23:26Roman Fevra, very lucky, coming out of the final turn.
23:37Gap now 2.5 seconds between him
23:39and Lucas Coonan.
23:42That's how easy it is to make a mistake around here.
23:44Right, that's going to do two things, isn't it?
23:51Fire him up
23:52and push him onto the rear wheel.
23:55Anyway, let's take another look at the start, shall we?
23:57because as the rain falls here
24:00in the latter stages of race two
24:01it was nice and dry at the start of race two.
24:06Fevra opened up the corner.
24:09Went in bar to bar.
24:11But it was Coonan again
24:13with that foxhole shot.
24:16Look at him, half a bike, clear.
24:21It's very tight, wasn't it?
24:22Again between him and Fevra.
24:24Fernandes not too far behind him.
24:27Erlings, ah, folds the front.
24:41Goes back down to 7th place.
24:49So down from 6th to 7th.
24:56Uncharacteristic error.
24:57From the bullet.
25:05Got to feel sorry for the organisers here this weekend.
25:0740 years of holding Grand Prix motocross.
25:09The last two years
25:10have been very, very similar conditions.
25:14But the race goes on
25:15and it has gone on
25:16thanks in part to our fantastic track crew
25:19here this weekend.
25:20Hasn't detracted from the racing though, has it?
25:25Especially in this MXGP category.
25:28Coonan and Fevra separated by less than two seconds
25:30as we near the end of lap 11.
25:34Less than five minutes plus two laps to go.
25:39Visibility is going to be key now
25:40in this closing part of the race
25:43because with the rain
25:44you've got constant visibility issues.
25:46Who is better prepared?
25:51Looks like they've both got roll-offs on anyway.
25:53Not taking any chances in that respect.
25:55Those ruts past pit lane
25:59we can't really see them
26:00but they're massively long and deep.
26:05Traffic on the horizon.
26:06A test for Coonan then.
26:08to finish this last race
26:13of the program of the weekend.
26:15Josh Gilbert, top of the hill
26:17tries to stay out of trouble
26:19on the Lexa Honda.
26:23Takes a look back
26:24realizes that
26:26one of the top runners comes through
26:28stays out of the way
26:31as quickly as he can.
26:36Fevra losing too much time
26:37in that part of the racetrack.
26:40And as we get to the opposite side
26:42of the valley here
26:42where Adam Sterry is
26:43we'll get another time check.
26:49That gap 2.6 seconds
26:51it's 1.9 a moment ago.
26:55Sterry staying out of the way.
26:57Adam Sterry
26:58the 8-11 on the Chambers KTM.

27:22the gap.
27:23Has he thrown in the towel
27:24with three minutes
27:25plus two laps to go?
27:26Is this now
27:27Lucas Coonan's Grand Prix
27:29to lose?
27:41That time's slowing
27:43not like they did
27:44in race one though.
27:452.18 last time around

34:05O gap abre uma vez mais em favor do Lucas Coonan, 2.7 agora ele tem, com apenas mais um lapo para ir.
34:17.
34:28Coming out of the final turn, Lucas Coonan prepares to take the one lap board.
