00:00A huge military parade on Trump's birthday?
00:02Yes, it's happening, but it's not what you think.
00:06The U.S. Army has confirmed it's planning a massive event on June 14th.
00:10That's the Army's 250th anniversary, which also happens to be President Donald Trump's
00:1479th birthday.
00:15We're talking over 6,600 troops, more than 150 vehicles, 50 helicopters, 7 military bands,
00:23and even a parachute jump.
00:25While a festival was already planned for the National Mall, the parade element is new and
00:29would mark one of the largest military displays in recent history.
00:34Officials say this is part of a long-planned Army celebration, not just a birthday bash.
00:38But the overlap in timing has definitely drawn attention.
00:41White House officials say the parade will also help kick off a year-long celebration for America's
00:46upcoming 250th anniversary.
00:49There's still no official cost estimate, though planning documents show tanks, artillery vehicles,
00:55and strikers will take part with heavy equipment joining the route from near the Lincoln Memorial.
01:00D.C. officials have voiced concerns about road damage, but the Army says it's working to manage
01:05logistics and community engagement.
01:08The last time a similar parade was proposed, that's back in 2018, it was canceled due to costs.
01:13But this time, it's officially happening, and the date is fast approaching.
