Quel final de Jay Vine (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) ! L'Australien de 29 ans s'est parfaitement extirpé du peloton à la flamme rouge, et a pu résister jusqu'au bout, s'imposant avec deux secondes d'avance sur le Français Lenny Martinez (Bahrain Victorious) et le Portugais João Almeida (UAE Team Emirates-XRG). Après un début de saison compliqué, il poursuit sa montée en puissance après déjà sa belle semaine fin mars sur la Semaine Coppi e Bartali où il avait remporté deux victoires d'étape. De bon augure avant les deux dernières étapes où il aura clairement un coup à jouer, et surtout en vue du Giro d'Italia, son grand objectif du début d'année.

00:54Uh, for me, if I made it to the corner, with, I think, 350 meters to go, I was confident I could hold on, but that last 30 seconds was incredible, and a pain.
