00:00Pakistan violates ceasefire for 8th straight day.
00:14India tightens news, beefs security at LOC.
00:24Four reporters, four key border points.
00:27In fact, during the last many years, more than a dozen immigration bits had been foiled in the Lipa Valley itself.
00:35Behind me, you can see the border fence. We are exactly near the India-Pakistan international border.
00:41And we can also see the Pakistani posts from here.
00:45We are at the international border, India and Pakistan, which runs through Punjab.
00:50And the BSF has heightened the vigil over there, keeping a very, very close eye of any kind of movement.
00:55Pakistan has been violating ceasefire in various sectors across Jammu and Kashmir.
01:03Last night, Poonch saw ceasefire violations from Pakistan and an apt retaliation by the Indian Army.
01:09Scared Pakistan's border provocation.
01:15Indopark Border Dispatch.
01:25Good evening, you're watching India Today. I'm Akshita Nandakopal.
01:31And this evening, we're bringing you a special broadcast.
01:34We've been seeing since the April 22nd carnage in Pelgham, attempts by Pakistan to violate the ceasefire repeatedly.
01:43They threaten first to suspend the Shimla agreement and do exactly what the Shimla agreement talks about,
01:48which is ensuring that there is a ceasefire.
01:51They violate it repeatedly.
01:53And we will be getting you a sense of what's really happening along the line of control and along the international border.
01:59Five reports coming your way from ground zero, from different pockets of the line of control and international border,
02:07where we've been seeing provocation after provocation by Pakistan.
02:10Let's begin this special broadcast with a quick check of the headlines first.
02:19India moves to isolate Pakistan.
02:21India's big strike on park terror funds may approach terror fund watchdog to seek review of 7 billion IMF aid to Pakistan.
02:29Second, terror confession by Pakistan.
02:38Bilawal Bhutto admits terror past.
02:40Bhutto exposes Pakistan Army's terror design.
02:48India's big air power flex amid tussle with Pakistan.
02:52Andhra Faust before a MiG-29 Jaguar fly past emergency landing strip at UP's Shajanpur.
03:05Andhra governments, we are with you.
03:06Message to Prime Minister Modi after Pehal Gham.
03:09Prime Minister gives a big message, says India's strength, not just its weapons, but unity of Indians.
03:15Chilling Mangaluru murder sends shockwaves.
03:22Rawdi Sheeta, ex-Bajrang Dal member hacked to death.
03:26Slain Suha Shetty, accused in a 2022 Fasal murder case.
03:38And Prime Minister Modi's big message to Congress at Seaport launch, says some will lose sleep over Shashitaroor's presence.
03:43Congress hits back, says Modi will lose sleep.
03:46Not Congress.
03:48You are a very important leader of the Indian alliance.
03:52You are still standing here.
03:55And today's event will give up to many people.
04:06With Pakistan, I'm sure of exactly how India is going to be retaliating after the Pehal Gham terror attacks.
04:12They've been taking every possible step.
04:14Out of sheer desperation along its borders, they've also beefed up their security and resorted to the same old tactic of ceasefire violation.
04:23So we're going to be getting you, over the next 30 minutes, ground reports from different parts of the line of control and the international border.
04:30These are the two borders that we share with Pakistan.
04:33Let me just show you, first of all, what we've been witnessing along these borders.
04:37Where exactly does the LOC stand?
04:40Where is the international border?
04:43So what you're seeing right now is the entire line of control that we've marked out.
04:48And the number of provocations by Pakistan.
04:51On each date, you see that there has been one after another ceasefire violation that's been reported.
04:58It started right after the terror attack.
05:01It happened right after that we saw multiple such incidents along the line of control and then along the international border as well.
05:09Well, so much so that even yesterday in Aknur, Poonch, Naushera, Kupwara, you had in fact ceasefire violations being reported.
05:18This right here is a long list that we're about to show you from April 22nd.
05:22That's the day of the Belgam terror strike.
05:24We've been seeing nonstop incidents, more than 10 clearly.
05:28And for the last eight days, nonstop, there have been ceasefire violations being reported, not just in the line of control, but also the international border as well.
05:39So you see that lineup that we're talking about.
05:41This is why we felt the need to actually get our reporters to the ground, show you what's happening along these border areas and how India too is beefing up now its security deployment in these areas.
05:53To give a befitting response to Pakistan, which has been resorting to these kind of ceasefire violations.
05:59Let's begin with the line of control, getting you some reports from the line of control from Kupwara first.
06:05What we're seeing in the Lipa Valley.
06:08This is in North Kashmir's Kupwara district.
06:10Beautiful area.
06:11It's turned into a flashpoint.
06:13This dense forested area, which had opened its arms to tourists in 2023, has been closed off once again to tourists.
06:20The direct consequence of what's happened essentially in Pahal Gham.
06:24Here's an exclusive report by Ashrafani first.
06:27I am currently in one of the infamous valleys of the Kupwara district near line of control.
06:37This is known as Lipa Valley because it is a dense forest between two mountains, which is the main infiltration track for the park train traders.
06:48In fact, during the last many years, more than dozen infiltration bits had been foiled in the Lipa Valley itself.
06:57After the Pahal Gham terror attack, there is high alert all along the line of control.
07:02In fact, the civilian movement has been completely restricted in the line of control areas.
07:09When I am just talking here on the television, there are number of comming operations going on in the forest.
07:19Because there are inputs with the security agencies that the unprovoked firing on the line of control in the Kupwara sector is an intentional firing by Pakistan.
07:30So that they could push more and more infiltrators into Jom and Kashmir in this tension time between two countries.
07:38Because already Indian Army and the intelligence agencies have identified more than 45 launching pairs along LOC.
07:45The trained, equipped terrorists in those launching pairs are being pushed in the shadow of that ongoing firing on LOC.
07:55That is why not only on the LOC there is high visual, but also in the surrounding areas, in all those infiltration tracks,
08:04which are known for the infiltration including this Lipa Valley on line of control.
08:11His name isahi.
08:12I believe in Indian Army.

08:28My name is Chaudhary Nek Alam.
08:30Nek Alam, you are living here in the kitchen.
08:34How many wars have you seen in Pakistan?
08:37I've seen one war in 1967.
08:41In 65.
08:43We saw it as a result.
08:45But now it's been a very difficult time.
08:48This is because we had a lot of trouble.
08:50We had a lot of trouble.
08:52We had a lot of trouble.
08:56This is an issue.
08:58It was a problem.
09:00It doesn't happen.
09:02We are living here.
09:04We are living here.
09:06We are living here.
09:08We are living here.

09:14We are living here.
09:16You are living here.
09:18You can show this situation?
09:20We have a number-catcher.
09:22Yes.
09:23And the top of it is Raja Ram-Kund.
09:25Yes.
09:26Ram-Kund.
09:27Yes.
09:28And the top of it is Kishmiya.
09:29The top of it is Kishmiya.
09:30It is a big number.
09:31Yes.
09:32And the top of it is Keren.
09:33Yes.
09:34Yes.
09:35This is not good.
09:36It is not good.
09:37This is one of the road which is leading to the Keren sector of Kupwara District.
09:44Keren is the last village on line of control.
09:47And it only is separated from Pakistan by the Kishan Ganga.
09:51On the other side of the Kishan Ganga, there is also the Keren village of Pakistan.
09:56That is very popular among the Pakistanis as a famous tourist destination there.
10:01Not only the Indian side and Indian army has restricted the movement on this road towards
10:07the Keren valley, but also same is the scenario with the Pakistani authorities.
10:12On LOC, they are not allowing now the tourists into the Keren valley of Kupwara District on
10:20their side.
10:21Okay, let's get to our next report.
10:26This one from the international border.
10:28Where India today's Surul J. Bhatt gets you all the ground level insights into the situation
10:32brewing in the Araspura sector.
10:35There is an undercurrent of alertness of border forces who are on high vigil.
10:39The civilian population is also cooperating with security personnel.
10:43Surul J. Bhatt got as close as he could to the border, to the fencing, which is clearly
10:47visible in this next report.
10:49High alert has been sounded across the length and breadth of German Kashmir after the horrific
11:08Pahlgaam terror attack.
11:10Security has been beefed up at sensitive places, particularly the line of control and the India-Pakistan
11:16international border here in Jammu and Kashmir.
11:19Right now, I am standing near the India-Pakistan international border in Jammu's Araspura sector.
11:25And behind me, you can see the border fence.
11:28We are exactly near the India-Pakistan international border.
11:32And we can also see the Pakistani posts from here.
11:37I will just ask my camera person, Neeraj, to show you the pictures of the border fence as
11:42well as of the Pakistani posts here.
11:44We can see the Pakistani posts here and the Pakistani flag flying over these posts.
11:49So we are exactly near the India-Pakistan international border.
11:52And we are getting you this exclusive ground report from here.
11:57After the horrific Pahlgaam terror attack, the government of India took some bold steps.
12:03Non-military options have been explored.
12:07Indus Water Treaty has been kept under suspension for now.
12:11And Pakistani nationals who are living here in India on long-term visas,
12:15they were asked to leave the country and they were asked to go back to Pakistan.
12:19The borders are on high alert, particularly the India-Pakistan international border
12:24and the line of control in Jammu and Kashmir.
12:26Before this, let me tell you more about the city of The Vatour of Pakistan
12:45and Pakistan in New Mexico.
12:46Let me tell you something about the structure of this space.
12:50Are there people afraid?
12:52What kind of space?
12:53They are very afraid.
12:54।
13:04।
13:12।
13:18।
13:20।

13:36foreign
13:50right now we are standing at flora village which is located near the india pakistan international
14:14border in jammu's araspura sector behind me you can see a concrete bunker bunkers like these
14:21have been built by the government here so that whenever pakistan violates ceasefire or whenever
14:28pakistan resorts to shelling people can take shelter in bunkers like these when the modi
14:34government took charge the then home minister rajna singh visited many border areas in jamb and
14:39kashmir whether along the international border or along the line of control he spoke to the people
14:45here he met the people here and he understood the pain of the people and that is why he announced
14:51that concrete bunkers like these will be built in the border villages along the international border
14:58as well as along the line of control these bunkers were locked for last few years because people had
15:04heaved a sigh of relief in the last few years there was no shelling in the border villages and people
15:10lived a normal life but given the tensions that have escalated once again now the people are making
15:17contingency plans the locked bunkers have been opened and people are cleaning these bunkers we are going
15:24inside this bunker we are getting you this ground report from india pakistan international border this is
15:30a border village and bunkers like these were built by the modi government because during those times
15:36pakistan used to violate ceasefire pakistan used to resort to shelling and it were the people living in
15:43border areas who used to face the brunt of pakistani shelling now people are scared here they feel that
15:50pakistan may once again resort to shelling and they may have to face difficult times we will speak to some
15:56of the people here uh who are who are right now here inside this bunker jibari sababana

17:11It's our country.
17:13There's no tension here.
17:14We are here.
17:15Hindu and Muslims are all over.
17:16Whatever happens, they will do.
17:19Whatever happens to the village.
17:20This is going to be the same.
17:21We have to give people a little answer to this.
17:23We have to give them a little answer to this.
17:26We have to give them the same.
17:29We have done this.
17:30you just heard the voices here they are saying that they want uh retribution they want uh
17:42that the killings of our innocent people needs to be avenged they are saying enough is enough
17:48how long we are going to tolerate the brutalities and cruelty of pakistan it's high time that
17:54pakistan is taught a lesson and this time a befitting reply should be given to pakistan so
18:00that in future it does not dare to carry out any terror attack in india and pakistan should be given
18:08a befitting reply that's what the people are demanding here they are saying that they have
18:12been tolerating the pakistan's provocations for many decades now and it's enough now enough is enough
18:19now the time has come to teach pakistan and lesson with video journalist siraj kumad this is sunil bhat
18:24reporting from jammu dharaspura sector near the india pakistan international border for india today
18:36so that's what's happening in the international border whereas sunilji says security has been beefed
18:41up bunkers which were left unoccupied occupied right now given what's happening between india and pakistan
18:47let's talk about the border in punjab between india and pakistan remember that near amritsar the
18:54atari vaga border has been closed off but here's a report by aseem bassi on exactly what's the
19:00situation there it's in an area where largely you've got farming families living
19:07there's a breather for the pakistan nationals here at the atari border who was stranded yesterday as
19:11pakistan did not open gates but it is learned that pakistan has decided to take back its citizens
19:16today and this is the reason that the pakistani nationals who were waiting at the atari border
19:21have been allowed beyond this point after this they'll take we go to the immigration counters and
19:25then they will go to the border gates where pakistan will take them yesterday also pakistan did a lot of
19:30drama the entire day their citizens were out in the sun here but pakistan did not open gates although
19:35india showed a goodwill gesture saying that any park national can exist towards pakistan through this
19:41border but pakistan did not open gates so today is a sense of breather for the park nationals who may go
19:45home to the go back to the home to the go back to the home so that the pakistani nationals
19:49is allowed and said that pakistan believes that the citizens are allowed to take their citizens
19:53but there are some indian passport holders who are here now they are not allowed to go to the
19:57country but we are talking about the family
19:59yes what do you name it do you name it do you name it do you name it do you name it do you name it

20:41my child is 15 years old. So I want to go to my family.
20:45Do you have Indian passport?
20:47Indian passport. There was a marriage here.
20:49Everything is not.
20:50The name of the B.A.
20:51Everything is in the documents.
20:53I'm living on the light visa.
20:55People had to go to the light visa.
20:57They said that the government came to the light visa.
20:59They said that they could go to the light visa.
21:01So now they came.
21:03When was India?
21:04It was 5 April.
21:11This is a village from the border.
21:14There is a fence.
21:16Pakistan is in front of them.
21:17But these are the people who have seen some wars.
21:20Like 1965 or 1971.
21:22Many countries have seen them.
21:24They are living in the border area.
21:26What do you think about this border area?
21:28Is there any fear?
21:29Is there any panic?
21:30Is there any issue?
21:32Look, there is no border area.
21:34There is no fear.
21:35Because it was also a fight.
21:38Then there was a danger.
21:40Two weeks.
21:41They took on the border.
21:43But this is soon no need to be afraid.
21:46It doesn't want to miss anything.
21:48The problem is that people do.
21:50First of all, the working with the work is running.
21:52B.S.F. MI is supposed to go and get it.
21:55And then we help people out.
21:57Then we do work.
21:58Now we have to go and get it.
22:00Because we have to go and see.
22:03There is a way we go.
22:05The question is not.
22:07Because we have to do that.
22:09So this is a problem, like CRP's car,
22:15and the government says,
22:18what will happen?
22:21It doesn't happen.
22:22Let's see what the government is doing.
22:25They don't have to do that.
22:27But there is no problem in the border.
22:30You are probably retired,
22:32and you live in the border.
22:34Tell us about the people of the border
22:36about this whole situation.
22:38I don't want to see.
22:40So people from now on.
22:42If you look like this,
22:44there are people who are good so to limitations,
22:47facing huge challenges here.
22:50Home unit to combat.
22:55Everyone is very careful to combat each other.
22:59Like working to live in border,
23:01there are no rammer acts around khundar,
23:04foreign
23:19foreign
23:31foreign
23:33As tension has escalated between India and Pakistan after the Pahlkam terror attack we are at the international border India and Pakistan which runs through Punjab we are at one location in the Indopark border and you can see the fence right there we are next to Pakistan and the BSF has heightened the vigil over there keeping a very very close eye of any
24:03kind of movement along across the fence so at one point where the BSF is alert enough and this side you can see that the people of this village are fearless and they are continuously working in the fields and this tractor is moving in the fields to basically to wrap up the crop work as soon as possible because always there is a threat that if the forces come here then this may work may not be completed so the morale is high of the people and we will talk to some people here we have a village sir Panch here

24:57for the first time, I was told that there was a lot of work.
25:07I didn't want to do that, but I didn't want to do that.
25:13I was just doing that.
25:16I was told that I had a bit of instruction.
25:21We have seen here that we are the Indo-Park border and the people are spirited enough they see if needed
25:50they will be fighting with the along with the force to take on Pakistan and right at the fence the
25:56agriculture work is going on to ensure that these things are wrapped up before any further escalation
26:01takes place from Indo-Park border with camera person Ravi Khandi's Haseem Bassi India today
26:08okay so that was a detailed report filed by Haseem Bassi which also covered the atari vaga border
26:14where you're seeing also Pakistani nationals returning back after India revoked their visa so
26:20the diplomatic strike you feel the impact of that largely in the atari vaga border which has been
26:24closed off now let's talk about what's happening in the line of control in poonj shweta singh visited
26:30this area spoke to locals who live in anxiety there are bunker repairs that are underway the military
26:36is ramping up its presence because in these areas is where you've seen the maximum ceasefire violations
26:42happening quiet in the daytime at the line of control but every night ever since the pehalgam attack
26:51pakistan has been violating ceasefire in various sectors across jammu and kashmir last night poonj saw
27:00ceasefire violations from pakistan and an apt retaliation by the indian army and it is not just poonj but
27:07in north kashmir from baramula to kupwara and in the jammu region poonj naushera and akhnur which has seen
27:18ceasefire violations for the past few days pakistan resorts to small arms firing basically just trying to
27:28prove and show to india that it is ready for a war which is not the reality
27:32it is public knowledge that pakistan does not even have ammunition if a war starts they have
27:42ammunition to last just a couple of days but these ceasefire violations have definitely seen preparedness
27:50at the indian side of the line of control where community bunkers are being spruced up so that in case
27:57there is there is a massive escalation the civilians are protected as far as the indian army is concerned
28:06they respond to every single violation from the pakistani side with camera person yoginder singh
28:13this is shweta singh in poonj for india today
28:19so those were all the ground reports from the line of control from the international border
28:22showing you how a spook pakistan is resorting to ceasefire violations now there are a lot of
28:27questions on how india will respond to the palgamum terror attack and that's what it's got pakistan
28:32so rattled there's so much buzz on social media about pakistan-occupied kashmir and india perhaps
28:39making a push to retrieve to get back be okay but what exactly is this land and area about how did pakistan
28:46get control of this area of kashmir i break down all those details in our next report
28:54tensions between india and pakistan are rising after the palgamum terror attack
28:58the pok pakistan-occupied kashmir is in the limelight once again as demands are on the rise to
29:05reclaim pok by india so pok is the part of ut union territory jaman kashmir and ladakh in india
29:12illegally occupied by pakistan let's run you through the history of this region pakistan-occupied
29:19kashmir is comprised of muzaffarabad punch mirpur and gilgit baltistan let's begin from the very
29:26beginning the independence of india in 1947 when jammu and kashmir was actually the largest among the 562
29:33princely states spanning an area of 218 thousand 779 square kilometers now as per the indian
29:42independence act of 1947 the maharaja of kashmir hari singh was given the option either to join
29:48pakistan or to join india during the partition but the maharaja agreed to have a standstill agreement
29:54with both india and pakistan to postpone making a decision however only the state signed this
30:00agreement with pakistan the indian government refused to sign any standstill agreement maharaja
30:06hari singh was facing regular intervention in pooch district and lost control in several western
30:11districts because you had these provinces being attacked by pakistan's tribal militia groups this
30:18happened on october 22nd 1947 and that's when it started thousands of pashtun tribesmen also called
30:24kabali tribes backed by the pakistani army invaded jamun kashmir capturing three towns and inflicting
30:32brutalities on common civilians burning down villages completely the local tribal groups and pakistani
30:38forces tried to capture the capital city of srinagar as well but was stalled after reaching barhamulla
30:44so the maharaja panicked made a plea to indian government for help and india was very clear we
30:49sent a clear message if you want our soldiers you have to be a part of our country and so offered
30:54assistance subject to signing the instrument of accession to india this essentially led to the first
31:00indopark war the princely state of jama and kashmir joined the indian union on 26th october 1947 now
31:09following the war between india and pakistan the united nations intervened establishing the uncip which
31:15is united nations commission for india and pakistan the idea of setting up this commission was to
31:21investigate and mediate as they put it the un security council also passed a resolution resolution 47
31:28which called for the withdrawal of pakistani forces from kashmir pakistan never actually lived up to
31:34that despite claiming to agree to some of provisions of that resolution later the karachi agreement of
31:411949 mediated by the un established the ceasefire line which is now known as the line of control the
31:47loc effectively dividing kashmir occupied by pakistan from india and that area is called pakistan
31:55occupied kashmir it has a muslim majority population right now so other than pakistan
32:01occupied kashmir let's just break down the division for you of jama and kashmir in 1963
32:07you had the shaksgum valley region located in yoki being captured by china under a boundary
32:13agreement with pakistan known as the sino park agreement the aksatrin area is also among other areas
32:20part of ladakh stands occupied by china the shaksgum valley region and aksatrin are together also known
32:27as china occupied kashmir or cok besides pok india of course still has most of german kashmir an area of
32:35one lakh six thousand and five sixty six square kilometers as part of indian soil pok is much
32:41smaller at seventy two thousand nine hundred and thirty five square kilometers land that's illegally
32:46occupied by pakistan shaksgum area covers about five thousand one hundred and eighty square kilometers
32:52then you have outside shin at about thirty seven thousand five hundred and fifty five square kilometers
32:57those two under chinese control and that's why india's vowed to get back pok to free the people of
33:03pok from the shackles of pakistan paak occupy kashmir bharat kai saha or is for america is
33:13protests also have raged on for decades against the pakistan army in girgit baltistan and other parts
33:19of pok residents locals have repeatedly voiced the opposition to the illegal occupation of their land
33:33and the digital strike by india continues now pakistani actor fawad khan's instagram page has been blocked
33:47by india his instagram page is no longer accessible in india first his film which is set to release in just
33:55some time from now has been banned and now fawad khan's uh instagram account has also been blocked for
34:01users in india this follows of course uh after a slew of similar steps were taken against other
34:08pakistani actors celebrities youtubers cricketers singers all of them their pages have been blocked
34:15on instagram in india the latest casualty of that is fawad khan whose film was also set for release uh
34:23which has now been banned after the pal gum terror attack and now his instagram account also blocked in
34:30india so every possible step being taken against pakistan with india sending across a very clear
34:35message that if pakistan resorts to this kind of uh terror sponsoring their citizens too will pay the price
34:43so we'll continue getting you all the updates that are coming in on tensions between india and pakistan
34:59let's get you all the updates that came in on the prime minister's visit to amravati a crucial one
35:05because you had essentially the prime minister kicking off the development or rather the redevelopment
35:10of amravati but one of the biggest headlines that came in from the prime minister's visit
35:14was a message from chief minister chandrababu naidu and from the deputy chief minister pavan kalyan
35:20on the pal gum terror attack saying we are with you to the prime minister both the leaders pledged
35:25their support to prime minister modi this was during the launch of key infrastructure projects
35:31andhra chief minister chandrababu naidu said the whole nation was pained by the pal gum attack
35:36and that he could see the pain in the prime minister's eyes then you had deputy chief
35:40minister pavan kalyan also echoing a similar sentiment saying that the prime minister will
35:46ensure the perpetrators will be brought to justice and prime minister modi while speaking in amravati
35:52on other development projects for the city for the capital of andhra pradesh also sent across a big
35:58message on unity saying india's biggest strength is its unity listen in
36:03we are getting all, we are working, we have supported the core spectrum of the deutsche
36:15vikas that the new war followers of the nation had
36:33Thank you very much.

37:31The
37:41terrorist attack has been one of the darkest days for the entire country. Even the blood
38:00was spilled in Kashmir. The blood spilled in Kashmir. It created tremors in the entire
38:07nation. And we had seen it personally, witnessed personally, the pain of the victims. For the
38:14Honourable PM Modiji, he is leading the country through these tough times and he assured all
38:21the citizens with stern action against the perpetrators of terrorism. I know this is
38:26a very sensitive time. And Modiji is carrying the nation's burden.
38:30The

41:44Chandrabahav Nahdegaru, and together, Amaravati, will surely become a world-class capital.
41:45A 360-degree growth engine for all of Andhra Pradesh.
41:49Our youth will no longer have to leave for Bangalore, Chennai or Hyderabad.
41:53Soon, Andhra Pradesh will create jobs for our people and attract talent from across the nation
41:58and the world.
42:01Okay, let's talk about the Prime Minister's visit to Kerala as well.
42:06And Prime Minister Modi's visit to Kerala in Tiruvannantapuram
42:09for the Virinyam Porta inauguration commissioning
42:12has created political ripples because of the messaging that was involved.
42:16You see this video of the Prime Minister.
42:19He was greeting everyone with a namaste, namaskaram on stage,
42:23but took a pause with Shashi Tharoor, shaking Shashi Tharoor's hand.
42:27And then on stage, Prime Minister Modi also took a taunt at the Congress,
42:33suggesting that Shashi Tharoor's presence at the event
42:35would lead to some Congress leaders losing their sleep.
42:40Listen to what the Prime Minister said in our next report.
42:57Prime Minister Narendra Modi took this veiled jibe at the Congress
43:03while sharing stage with Congress MP Shashi Tharoor
43:06during the inauguration of the Virinyam International Seaport in Tiruvannantapuram.
43:15The remark has once again set the political corridors abuzz.
43:19There is speculation on Tharoor's future in the Congress.
43:23The Congress leader has praised aspects of Prime Minister Modi's policies several times.
43:31From government's vaccine diplomacy to Modi's bond with world leaders,
43:37Tharoor has heaped praise on the Modi government in the past.
43:41Recently, he backed Modi's trade tariff negotiations with Trump
43:45during the Prime Minister's visit to the US.
43:49The Congress, though, has dismissed all such reports.
43:53The Prime Minister will have a C-plus night.
43:57Not the India-Aryans parties, not Rahul Gandhi, not the Congress party.
44:00Because we are going to put maximum pressure on him on this issue of caste censors.
44:08Even though the Congress has rubbished the speculation as rumours,
44:12not many are buying it.
44:14Bureau Report, India Today.
44:19Moving on, let's get you a sense of what's happening in Karnataka's Mangaluru,
44:23which saw some tense scenes after the murder of a former Bajrang Dal member
44:27who himself was a rowdy sheeter.
44:29He was hacked to death by a group of assailants in full public view
44:32in the streets of Mangaluru.
44:34Suha Shetty, a rowdy sheeter, one of the accused in a 2022 murder of Fazil in Surat Kal,
44:42was brutally murdered to death, hacked to death last night in Bengaluru.
44:47The incident was caught on camera in which you can see five to six assailants
44:51brutally attacking Suha Shetty with deadly weapons, causing grievous injuries,
44:55ultimately leading to his death.
44:58Now, following Suha Shetty's murder, the situation has been tense,
45:02with Hindu outfits calling for a massive protest also at Mangaluru.
45:06Stones were pelted at private buses in the city.
45:09Suha Shetty, the reason we refer to him as a rowdy sheeter, as a history sheeter,
45:13was that he was accused of killing Mohamed Fazil in 2022.
45:17Now, the victim of that crime, Mohamed Fazil,
45:19was one of the accused in the murder of Praveen Netaru.
45:23So it seems to be one revenge killing after another.
45:26The BJP has now demanded an NIA investigation,
45:29claiming that Hindus are no longer safe in Mangaluru.
45:34In this case, there is not a single person who is innocent.
45:38In fact, Suha Shetty, who was murdered yesterday,
45:41also had five pending cases against him.
45:44In fact, he also had several attempt to murder cases also against him.
45:48One, he was the A1 in Fazil's murder case.
45:51And number two, he was also the accused in the murder of a 20-year-old girl called Kirti
45:57that happened in Bajpe.
45:58So Suha Shetty is no innocent as well.
46:01Yes, this is killing after killing after killing that has happened,
46:05and it does have shades of undertone.
46:07But Suha Shetty also had cases registered against him.
46:11Yesterday, late evening, there was a murder of one Suha Shetty.
46:18After that, things have a little bit tense in this city.
46:22We have made a suitable bandha bus.
46:25Post-mortem is going on.
46:26After that, cremation arrangements will be done at Vatwada.
46:31So we request all the citizens of Mangalur
46:34to maintain peace and cooperate with the police department.
46:38We have identified the accused.
46:41So our teams are on to search for them.
46:44Very soon, we will do the good results.
46:46Around 8.30, 8.40,
46:49a roadie shooter of this area, Suha Shetty,
46:52who was earlier accused number one of an A1 in 2022,
46:57which took place in the year 2022,
47:00was intercepted by two vehicles.
47:02One was a pickup vehicle and one was a Maruti shift.
47:06So in order to save himself,
47:08he tried to run and abscond from the scene.
47:10However, around five to six people in the Maruti shift,
47:14they chased him and then they attacked him with the weapons,
47:18and deadly weapons,
47:20and after that he was brought to the hospital,
47:22where he was, despite the treatment,
47:24he could not be survived.
47:26And subsequently, we have taken a murder case in this regard,
47:29and the teams are working.
47:32I told him that I had taken a murder case in the house.
47:35I told him that he was a raudish higuitous,
47:37and I told him that his police department had taken a murder case in the police department.
47:42I told them to go to the police.
47:46They told me to go to the police and say they are not going to go to the police.
47:52I told them to go to the police.
47:57I told them to go to the police.
48:02It is a failure of law and order situation in the Karnataka.
48:25The government has gone ahead and given indirect support to the rowdy elements, antisocial
48:33elements, jihadi elements in the state.
48:36And because of this indirect support, all these rowdy elements are doing whatever they
48:40want to do.
48:42The police are very busy taking care of their own transfers and all those things.
48:48The government is busy transferring them, suspending them if they don't come in line.
48:54And there is a lot of politically based cases.
49:01They are more interested in putting BJP karakartas inside than seeing what is right and what
49:06is wrong.
49:07Because of all those things, this is happening.
49:11Let's bring in Anagar Keshav for the latest updates.
49:13She is reporting live from Mangaluru where this crime took place.
49:16Anagar, with growing demands of the BJP that the NIA take over this investigation, what's
49:22the latest from the ground?
49:23Have they been able to identify and nab the accused?
49:30So far they have ascertain the details of the accused.
49:34The police are very confidently saying that they have solid clues as to how exactly to
49:38catch hold of the accused.
49:40So they are saying that it's only a matter of days before they catch hold of all the
49:44five accused and present them before the court of law.
49:47The police do seem very confident at the moment.
49:50They are also saying that they are very keenly looking at the angle as to whether these accused
49:55belong to any political outfit like the Popular Front of India or SDPI.
49:59That angle is also being very keenly looked into.
50:01Apart from that, when we spoke to Anu Pagarwal, he said that the CCTV images are being very closely
50:07monitored to ensure that no such mismatch happens.
50:11Because there have been cases where the actual accused have eloped, while fake accused have
50:17been created and they have voluntarily surrendered.
50:20So Anu Pagarwal says that this particular angle is also being very cautiously monitored
50:26to ensure that it's the real accused, in fact, who gets presented before the court of law.
50:32And he says that they will apprehend all the five accused at the earliest.
50:35Apart from that, the BJP has also announced for a financial compensation amounting up to
50:4125 lakh rupees for the family of deceased.
50:44That is, Zuhas Shetty's family will be receiving 25 lakhs from BJP.
50:49The BJP, on the other hand, who is the opposition in Karnataka, is also demanding a compensation
50:53from the government itself.
50:55Apart from that, they are also demanding for an NIA handover of this case.
50:59All right, Anaga, thank you for getting us all of those updates.
51:03We'll track very closely the investigation, as Anaga points out right now.
51:07The police officials are still probing who exactly the accused of this crime is.
51:14All right, let's move on and talk about what happened in the national capital.
51:18Hot summer days, but amid that, suddenly a thunderstorm that hit the national capital.
51:23Respite from the heat, yes, but at the same time, the heavy downpour did lead to some inconvenience.
51:28Let's round up the latest images on that.
51:33Heavy rain triggered severe water logging in parts of Delhi.
51:38Four to five cars, many bikes were damaged and crushed due to incidents of trees coming crashing down.
51:44Delhi University, North Campus, looked more like a pond, as you can see there.
51:54Heavy rain left the roads completely flooded, making it nearly impossible for students to reach their classes.
52:01Rickshaw's two-wheelers struggled to pass through the flooded lanes.
52:04This is Mehroli in Delhi, which also, as you can see, had quite a bit of inundation, rainwater gushing down like a stream.
52:16Vehicles crawled, pedestrians were seen walking through the narrow footpaths.
52:20Gurugram also felt the impact of the sudden storm, with the waterlogged roads leading to people being stuck and helpless.
52:34And as always, let's also get you all the action from the Indian Premier League.
52:54Mumbai Indians registered their sixth win on the drought with a comfortable victory over Rajasthan Royals.
52:59Today, we're going to be seeing a face-off between Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad in what's a must-win game for the Orange Army.
53:09Mumbai Indians took on a struggling Rajasthan Royals at the Savai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
53:15Which has been the real turnaround for Mumbai Indians.
53:2150s by Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickleton gave Mumbai just the start they needed.
53:25On the ground will be a boundary. A strong finish to the first Riyan Parag over.
53:31This time straight and long for six.
53:34Hardik Pandya and Surya Kumar Yadav matched each other shot for shot and guided the five-time winners to 217.
53:41He's made his move. End result into the crowd and a six to finish off.
53:48Top edge straight up.
53:49Later, Jaspreet Bumarayan Kaur ran through the Rajasthan batting, striking five times in the power play and eventually sealing a 100-run win.
54:03Today, it will be a contest between Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
54:08Gujarat's return home with the name to overcome the Jaipur jolt handed by the 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
54:19The Sunrisers, on the other hand, are almost in must-win territory.
54:27For Gujarat, it will be about returning to winning ways.
54:30Whereas, SRH need nothing but a miracle to keep their hopes alive.
54:37Sports Bureau, India Today.
54:43And let's also get to you now the news that's doing the rounds on social media and tell you whether it's real or not.
54:49There's a claim right now spreading with footage that a Pakistan passenger plane was shot down by the Pakistan Air Force.
54:58And there's a video that's doing the rounds on social media as well.
55:01Is this true?
55:02Well, this is the claim that's being made.
55:04But the reality is that when we analyze the footage, it turns out it's a 2020 video of a park plane crash.
55:11So no, the video of this incident that's doing the rounds right now is an old one.
55:16It's not a passenger plane that's been shot down now in Pakistan.
55:20Don't believe everything you see on social media.
55:23And we here on India Today will continue to get you a sense of what's fact and what isn't.
55:28Thanks very much for tuning in to this edition of Super 6.
55:31That's all we have time for.
