00:01So how are you feeling today? Are you optimistic about the outcome?
00:05I'm neither optimistic or pessimistic. What will be will be.
00:08I've done everything that I can do and yesterday was in the hands of the electorate
00:13and today we'll find out the result.
00:15And how do you feel like your campaign has gone?
00:17I was very happy. I knew I couldn't have done any more.
00:20I've walked miles and miles around all the villages in my patch.
00:23I've delivered about 15,000 leaflets and I've walked about 220 miles.
00:28So I don't know I could do any more personally and whatever the outcome I'll accept it
00:34because I knew it was not like saying well if only I had done I could have had a better or different outcome.
00:39And what kind of feedback have you had from people that live in your area?
00:42It's been quite positive. Obviously a lot of people know me because I've represented the area for 17 years
00:47and I've been well known in and around certain parts of my ward
00:53and there were also many people saying if you are party I'm not interested
00:58and there were others saying particularly reform were saying you know if you're not reform I'm not interested either.
01:03So you get but you get that. That's nothing really new.
01:06I didn't detect any hostility or occasionally when you're wearing a party rosette you sometimes do get some hostility
01:13but I didn't get any of that. Everybody's been friendly.
01:15And to be fair very few people are actually rude to your face.
01:19They'll do it once they've shut the door but very seldom are they rude to your face.
01:22And if you are selected today what would be your first areas of priority to focus on in your ward?
01:28Oh my areas of priority will continue to be what they currently are which are
01:33we've got a lot of planning issues that we have to deal with around that.
01:36We've got warehouse development, housing development, we've got a quarry and landfill development coming along all being proposed.
01:42So most of my issues are planning but then there's the other thing.
01:46I've always taken a keen interest in the finances and the council finances side
01:51and I will continue to do that if I'm successful later on this afternoon.
01:56Lovely.
