00:25The top court has sent across a very clear message that this is time, this is the time for the country to come together.
00:31This is the time for everyone to unite and speak in one voice.
00:33And so the Supreme Court dismissing, slamming this petition has said it's time to unite against terror.
00:39The top court has also questioned what will be the judge's job here, saying that the judges don't investigate and we cannot demoralize our forces in this manner.

01:05The Supreme Court has made it clear that they will not entertain this kind of a petition.
01:09I want to bring in Srishti Oja, a legal correspondent, for more on this.
01:13Srishti, give us a sense of what the Supreme Court had to say about this petition.
01:16Well, Akshatar, the Supreme Court has clearly come down heavily on the petitioner and person who appeared before the court to argue.
01:26Not just that before the court was about to rise, this matter was specifically mentioned, saying that it's an urgent matter, an important case.
01:32And the Supreme Court should hear this matter.
01:36Now we saw the Supreme Court bench question the petitioner with regard to the release that he has sought.
01:42The top court question as to how can a judge, a former Supreme Court judge, be asked to investigate, to conduct an investigation into a terror attack.
01:50It's not the job of judges to investigate in this manner.
01:54The court has said that this is a crucial hour where each and every citizen of this country has joined their hands to come together and fight terrorism.
02:01The court therefore asked the petitioner to not make any prayers which can demoralize our forces, clearly remarking that this is not acceptable to the top court.
02:10The court has also said that this is not the time we should approach such situations with more responsibility, looking at the sensitivity of the issue at hand.
02:20We also saw the top court judge, Asa Soura Khan, say that the lawyers should be responsible before filing such petitions because they also have some responsibility towards the country.
02:31The way this petitioner has been filed and the arguments that have been made, the prayers that have been sought will not do anything but demoralize.
02:40The forces also questioning that since when have judges become experts in investigation?
02:46The matter is already being investigated.
02:49And clearly the court has said that these are not the prayers that can be entertained.
02:52We saw the petitioner then agreeing to withdraw the matter.
02:55So the petitioner has been withdrawn after the Supreme Court's very clear comments saying now is the time to unite, not to poke holes, not to demoralize our forces.
03:04Thanks, Srishti, for those details.
