Authorities have identified the location of an excavator believed to be buried at the site of the gas pipeline explosion along Jalan Putra Harmoni in Putra Heights on April 1.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, speaking to reporters during a site inspection on Wednesday (April 30), said the machine was found near the main pipeline that exploded — considered the epicentre or ‘ground zero’ of the incident.
He said current efforts remain focused on investigating the cause of the explosion, particularly issues related to the gas pipeline, adding that excavation work to recover the excavator will begin once that investigation is complete.
