The whistleblower behind the corruption scandal linked to several Sabah state assemblymen over mineral mining licensing has submitted nearly 300 pages of fresh evidence to the MACC on Tuesday (April 29).
His lawyer, Mahajoth Singh, said the new evidence paints a clear money trail involving proxies and alleged abuse of power, including a clandestine share transfer.

00:18This is pursuant to the statement that was recorded on the 12th and 13th of March.
00:35Now, as you all are aware, this matter has been pending for quite some time
00:38because it initially came about somewhere in November last year.
00:42And we gave a statement, the client gave a statement, it was almost close to 50 pages
00:49and that is evidence as well.
00:51So you have got the videos that has been given, you have got a 50 page statement that was given
00:59and now we have another almost close to 300 pages of evidence
01:05which consists of importantly names, names of witnesses, locations, WhatsApp messages, documents, call logs.
01:18We in fact even have some share transfer which has been done in a very clandestine manner.
01:27And obviously it shows an abuse of power.
01:33And we also have a handphone which we are going to serve which contains the original WhatsApp chats.
01:40And as I want to stress earlier, as I want to stress like what I said earlier,
01:45this is not the only evidence, this is furtherance to the 9 videos as well as the 50 page statement that was given.
01:54Now, I would also like to just go through the timeline of events.
02:01Now, on the 9th of November, several videos were released that I would say broke open the Pandora's box on the Sabah scandal.
02:12And since the 9th of November, several statements have been made by the MACC.
02:19I just wish to highlight a few.
02:22On the 21st of January, 2025, there was the initial investigation that was apparently concluded.
02:31And the investigation papers had been sent to the Deputy Public Prosecutor.
02:38Then, on the 21st, on the same day, it was, I believe, Tan Sri Azam's statement where he said that,
02:48the case on the State Assembly members has been referred to the DPP.
02:53It was returned with instructions to record further statement and to complete the process by the end of the month.
03:00I'm talking about 21st of January.
03:02Today, we are on the 29th of April.
03:05Then, on the 11th of March, Mr. Zaid Malik from Lawyers for Liberty handed over the videos.
03:13Now, those were unedited videos.
03:16And subsequently, of course, the statement was taken.
03:19On the 10th of April, Tan Sri Azam Bakhi confirmed that the Chief Minister Datuk Sri Haji Ji has given his statement and was not a suspect in the case.
03:32Now, what is important here is that I don't know why there is the rush to clear Chief Minister Datuk Sri Haji Ji Noor's name when the forensic of the video, up till today, I believe Tan Sri just released a statement earlier, saying that next week.
03:53So, if you were to separate the two, on one hand, you have the forensic which has been pending.
03:58We are saying it's a delay, it's an obvious delay, you know.
04:02And, see, 11th of April, one day after he clears Haji Ji, the Chief Minister Haji Ji, he says we are awaiting forensic report.
04:1322nd of April states that he expects the forensic report to be ready soon.
04:18Today, 29th, it will be ready next week.
04:21So, we are here to assist MECC upon our client's instructions.
04:27We are going to serve this evidence on them.
04:29And I believe that a further statement, I don't know of how many pages, because the evidence itself is almost 300 pages.
04:36I don't know how many more pages we are going to record of statement.
04:39I believe there is ample evidence.
04:42And I hope by this, the MECC can also start wrapping up their investigations and charge the people that are involved in this scandal.
