12:59There's a new
13:29This is a new
13:59This is a new deal which
14:29Well, oddly enough, this is a new
14:35place from place from which to judge
15:35They're hoping, they're hoping to get it's
15:37done so much, this week, we'll see you done this, Jon good point, you know, what's so good, you know, and then what's it's done this week, he said, you know, and I want to see what's the most, you know, and then we're in the same space and this, you know, and I'll see what's today. I mean, I'll do it.
16:07happening uh conversation and he's impressed by him and then he goes home and he finds out the
16:14russians inadvertently killed civilians in kiev and he blasts them i mean does does this change
16:21his thinking i think judge mercurial is probably a better way than unpredictable to ascribe to
16:29describe trump you never know exactly what he's going to say uh what we can say is in my view
16:37he's not a warmonger okay what he wants to do is a deal i i take him seriously when he says he wants
16:45to stop the killing in ukraine and so does poutine so there's the makings of a deal right there so long
16:51as trump realizes there was a terrible mistake to get involved with he is not only saying that i
16:56think he realizes that what he needs to do is pretend to to uh to get the troglodytes around
17:04him to give him some space and let whitkoff work this thing out i think it's going to be worked out
17:10and i hope it can be done pretty soon because the this coming week as rubio has said several times
17:17is crucial they're going to move this forward and uh you know the the whitkoff meeting there last at
17:24the end of last week was very successful ushakov and and and keskov they've all said that there was
17:32progress and that things are looking up and they wouldn't be saying that if there wasn't still hope
17:38that a deal can be made on ukraine now now i'm not i'm not mentioning gaza but everyone should mention
17:44gaza because because the genocide continues there and it would could would not okay i want you to hold
17:51off on gaza for just a minute because we'll put a bow on the discussion about
17:56the russian ukrainian war with a comment secretary rubio made yesterday and then i'm anxious to hear
18:04your thoughts about gaza and then i want your thoughts about the city of moscow and see if it's
18:08the same as what larry and i experienced but here's marco rubio yesterday uh on close but not enough cut
18:16number one we think we brought the sides closer than they've been in a very long time but we're not
18:20there yet and it needs to start happening we need to start i think this is going to be a very
18:24critical week uh this week is going to be a really important week in which we have to make a
18:29determination about whether this is an endeavor that we want to continue to be involved in
18:33or if it's time to sort of focus on some other issues that are equally if not more important in
18:38some cases but we want to see it happen there are reasons to be optimistic but there are reasons to
18:43be realistic of course as well we're close but we're not close enough
18:46close but not close enough they're still funding the war they're still paying for a war without
18:55which their funding would end in a month uh judge i think that funding was appropriated before uh
19:03before trump came in but it's all appropriated something to the president's discretion that's the
19:08where the legislation reads so he could stop it tomorrow yeah he's trying to you know he's got
19:13his own equities in congress and elsewhere uh i can understand you know i it's not for me to condone
19:21or think it's a good idea but i can understand why he's keeping his uh it powder dry it is a negotiating
19:27tool and it is necessary to keep some of the the real crazies in congress at bay in my view
19:33in the meantime the slaughter in gaza uh continues the recrimination between members of
19:41uh the knesset and prime minister netanyahu continue yair lapid who's the leader of the opposition
19:49said sadly i expect soon we'll be seeing jews killing jews haaretz accused netanyahu of wanting to form
19:58uh a dictatorship and of lying under oath and an affidavit he submitted to the israeli supreme court
20:06where's all that going well you have the u.s ambassador to israel blessing genocide i mean
20:16he's a reverend and he's blessing genocide explicitly now well if americans acquiesce in that kind of thing
20:26if we can't stand up and say look genocide is evil we're against it like the germans couldn't way back
20:33in the 30s then you know what worth what are we worth here uh this is new this is something that
20:40needs to enter into every conversation i'm going to do it here in moscow as well the world has to say no
20:46to the to the rest of the killing there in gaza and the west bank it's all over the place
20:52what's your impression of moscow ray oh my god you know this time i'm getting around and seeing a lot
21:01of things we'll be here for two weeks it didn't look anything like this when you were there in the
21:0570s that's for sure oh my god it's you know landing at the airport at mukova two nights ago it was like a
21:13uh it was really quite stunning uh the difference 53 years is 53 years and i say that there's a book
21:23marker here not hopefully a book end but my god what what a difference and the people are uh just
21:29thriving here you talk about uh the russian economy going boom well not by all appearances here
21:38and i hope to get out into the provinces as well and see what it's like out there so
21:43my idea is the sooner that trump could come here and see what really exists here in moscow and the
21:51rest of russia the better it would be he would understand that all this stuff that he's been fed
21:55all the stuff that the americans could bet forever is not true it's not a gas station posing as a country
22:02okay you're not making up that line a president of the united states by the name of barack obama used
22:09that line have you tried your russian out on any of the locals and do they respond to you
22:15yes i have and i've been very encouraged they say the
22:19the pronunciation is great if i can find the words
22:24and do do you refer to the president of their country as poutine when you speak to them well
22:34that's what the russians say poutine like uh stalin and uh you know poutine lenin stalin poutine yeah
22:43of course i do uh it shouldn't be a big surprise well i hope you're having a great time you seem
22:50happy relaxed and youthful please give my regards to uh your traveling companion
22:56oliver stone remind him he's always welcome on this show
22:59and we'll look forward to seeing you maybe i'll have some stories to tell us uh with larry
23:04when we do the round table at the end of the week i dare say yeah uh one thing that you should know
23:11is we're having lunch with um jeffrey sacks and his wife tonight they happen to be in moscow and
23:18uh we happen to look into them over breakfast and uh so we're gonna have dinner and a nice little
23:25chat with them so i'll give them you know please please uh send us a photo and chris will post it
