00:00yes not mathematically but pretty much all but confirmed bristol rovers will be playing league
00:09two football next season um you know something we've never seen um will have to happen if they
00:15that's not the outcome um you know it's been a real ride of inconsistency for migo calderon's
00:21team they've just not been good enough obviously you know league one if you look at the table
00:25the very very top of the table um that's being decided as well with the likes of birmingham
00:30city wrexham uh both going we're both heavy investors um in their side and yes it's a
00:37tough league to compete in and you know modern day football just suggests if you do not have
00:41investment if you do not have backing financially by um you know these multi-millionaire if not
00:46billionaire owners then you are going to suffer and bristol rovers have felt the brunt of that i mean
00:51for the vast part of the season they have really been struggling um you know not not many goals
00:57scored so many conceded um it's just been an absolute whirlwind for them i mean the fans must
01:04be so disappointed as well uh league two football again it's going to be the outcome for them um
01:10and you know now they have to start looking at the future they have to start looking at
01:14what do we have now you know can we get back to uh where we want to be and push on further because
01:20at the moment there's been you know multiple managerial issues over the last couple of seasons
01:25as well um they narrowly avoided it last year they're going to you know not avoid it this time
01:30round uh dan what's your thoughts how do you feel um that gas heads are sort of looking ahead to
01:36the future i mean there must be a lot of uncertainty around bristol rovers at the moment
01:40um following their likely you know highly likely relegation yes charles you're right certainly a hugely
01:48concerning time for all uh bristol rovers certainly the future of an eagle calderon and a lot of the
01:53players at the club very much uncertain at this stage they are as good as down as you say now
01:59following that two nil loss at home to reading in league one back down to league two of course they
02:04only got back up to league one a couple of years ago and they were looking to build what was a
02:10relatively okay finish last season you know surviving but now it's back to square one back to league two
02:16and given the fact that they've just gone through a takeover as well it sort of places in doubt as to
02:20what the ambition or direction of the club is because you think well when they came in these you
02:27know when the ownership changed hands it was very much a yes this club wants to go and be in a really
02:31good place and we certainly discussed it uh earlier on in the season as to what the club could possibly
02:37be in in years to come and you know at that point they were doing okay in the league they obviously
02:44weren't anywhere near the top but sort of lower to mid table maybe just just hovering above that
02:50danger area of the table but then of course they sacked matt taylor things weren't brilliant but they
02:56sacked him uh brought an eagle calderon in they got some really good results especially at home under
03:01calderon and then things just fell off a cliff this is that it's that simple and that's the frustration
03:07it's hard to pinpoint exactly what's happened is it lack of efforts i think some players have probably
03:14pointed to this themselves holding their hands up or standards as well just not being there levels
03:19of fitness perhaps not even being there and but that's really sort of mystifying because as i say
03:24when calderon first came in they they looked quite good they they got some really important wins over
03:28some good opposition as well especially at home at the memorial stadium but their form just completely
03:34fell off in the last few games and they just went from loss to loss to loss to loss not really scoring
03:40but certainly conceding a lot as well and they needed anything against redding to give themselves
03:46half a fighting chance and even that they couldn't manage but to be fair to bristol rovers on the day
03:50they did pepper redding's goal especially in the first half with a lot of chances and redding's
03:55goalkeeper was equal to all of them he had a an outstanding display between the sticks but
04:00it came to it in the second half where redding simply took their chances whereas bristol rovers
04:06obviously in the first half had not done the same redding themselves were fighting for a place in
04:12the playoffs and they'll go into the last day still hoping to get that place despite all the
04:16ongoing issues that are going on at their club of course which are still unresolved for bristol
04:21rovers it's now just a case of rebuilding isn't it but as i mentioned earlier with the futures of so
04:28many of the club now in doubt that rebuilding process you know it's hard to see where it begins and
04:35where it starts because you need to tie down people's futures first and see exactly where things are at
