00:00This time on Car SOS,
00:02doyed-in-the-wool petrolhead Tim Shaw...
00:04This is one of the best cars I've ever driven.
00:07...and mechanical maestro Fuzz Townshend...
00:10Oh, do you know, I love the smell of gearbox oil.
00:12...are looking back over 12 years
00:14of restoring classic cars for deserving owners.
00:18In today's special episode,
00:20we revisit some of Tim and Fuzz's favourite moments.
00:23We want an old van.
00:24Well, I've got one.
00:25What, is it in nice condition?
00:26No.
00:27The boys go deep undercover.
00:30Attention, this cow is reversing.
00:33We find out what it's really like
00:36to meet Tim and Fuzz face-to-face.
00:38Do you still want to punch us?
00:39Yeah.
00:39Yeah, OK.
00:40And we celebrate making 120 automotive dreams come true.
00:45Hello, guys!
00:48Oh, flippin' hell!
00:50What is it?
00:51No!
00:53That's mine.
00:54Yes, that's your car.
00:57Hello, and welcome to a very special episode of Car SOS,
01:16as Tim and I look back over some of our favourite moments
01:19from across what is now 12 years of restoring old bangers.
01:24Yes, it seems like only yesterday that we lifted our very first garage door,
01:28tore away the cobwebs and pulled out car number one,
01:31which, for your information, was a...
01:33Volkswagen Beetle.
01:34...called...
01:34Boris the Blade.
01:36Yes, it was.
01:36Oh, close.
01:37Yeah.
01:37Close one.
01:38But life has never been the same since.
01:41I mean, to date, we've now put 120 classic cars back on the road.
01:46That's right, and today we're going to celebrate
01:47by taking a trip down memory lane
01:49and reliving some of our finest hours,
01:51and where better to start, you're going to love this...
01:53Yeah?
01:54...than engines.
01:55Oh, yeah.
01:56Now, over the years,
01:57we've had some pretty goosebump moments
01:59starting up cars that sometimes haven't run for decades,
02:02although I think your favourite engine moment
02:05wasn't actually a start-up, was it?
02:07You're right, it wasn't.
02:08In fact, the reason I've chosen this
02:10is because I'm not actually sure that it really happened,
02:13and I just need to see this to prove to myself
02:15that it wasn't a dream.
02:19Yes, it was back in season 11
02:21that Tim pulled off the impossible
02:23by removing the engine from a bog-standard Ford Mondeo.
02:27I can't appreciate what you've done to this engine
02:29in such poor lighting.
02:30I'll go and take some photos.
02:31OK, cool.
02:32And then got some very special people to take a look at it.
02:36Oh, wow.
02:37It looks stunning.
02:39Right.
02:39When it comes to modifications,
02:41leave that to me.
02:43Where we're going now
02:47is by far the biggest, most monumental blag
02:49since the beginning of the inception of blagging.
02:53Where we're going...
02:56is Cosworth.
03:02For getting on for 65 years,
03:05engineering supremos Cosworth
03:07have been producing
03:08some of the best high-performance engines on the planet.
03:11In the car world,
03:13they are nothing less than royalty.
03:15So why they'd want to let Tim in
03:18is anyone's business.
03:19Hello.
03:20I've come to see Graham,
03:22who's expecting me.
03:24There's several Grahams,
03:25but I can have a look.
03:26The toilet's down this way.
03:27Yeah.
03:27I'll take the engine with me
03:29because, you know, it's valuable.
03:30All right, let me tell you this.
03:33You know heaven,
03:34that thing,
03:34you don't know whether it exists or not.
03:35It does.
03:35It's right behind me.
03:37Welcome to engine heaven.
03:39It's okay.
03:39So we've got early Anglia engines here,
03:42which started in 1958.
03:44So here, look,
03:44it all started with Mike Costin
03:46and Keith Duckworth.
03:47You get the Worth and the Coen,
03:48you get Cosworth,
03:49and that's those two geezers there.
03:50Look, those homeboys on there.
03:51You know,
03:52that's where, for me,
03:53Cosworth was born.
03:54Frankly,
03:55we're talking about the YB engine
03:56from the Sierra and the Escort Cosworth.
03:59Indy 500,
04:01Mansell engine,
04:02right there.
04:03Listen,
04:04you two can have a chat
04:05because maybe,
04:07if you play your cards right,
04:08you might end up a bit like that.
04:11Excuse me.
04:12Can I help you?
04:12Yeah, hi.
04:13Graham, is it?
04:13Yes.
04:14Well, can we help you?
04:15What do you do here, Graham,
04:16if you don't mind me asking?
04:17Well,
04:17we rebuild the engines and things,
04:19but you shouldn't really be in here
04:21because it's selfish
04:22as not workshop-based, so...
04:25OK,
04:26here's the deal.
04:27That is the key ring
04:28from this new series,
04:30and that is something
04:30of which there are only 12 of
04:32on the planet.
04:33That could be yours
04:33if you would consider
04:35having a little look at that engine.
04:37We shouldn't really be doing...
04:39It's all coming together.
04:40...none customers.
04:40You take that,
04:41and I'll take this,
04:42and we'll go in there.
04:43Well,
04:43we could probably have a quick look
04:45just to see what we can do.
04:46Take it.
04:46That's yours.
04:47Done deal.
04:47OK.
04:48I'll bring it through.
04:49Right, done.
04:49OK.
04:49OK, well,
04:50Cosworth this engine.
04:51Wow.
04:53That's the power
04:53of the car SOS key ring
04:55for you.
04:56There's a lot
04:57we can do with it.
04:58Really?
04:58Definitely.
04:59This being a standard
05:00road engine,
05:01there's a lot of potential.
05:02How long have you been
05:03building engines,
05:04Graeme?
05:05On and off
05:06for the last
05:0730 years.
05:09This man has built
05:10some very serious
05:10bits of equipment.
05:11Right.
05:12David Coulthard,
05:13Mick Harkonnen,
05:14Nigel Mansell.
05:17You're touching
05:17Carl's engine,
05:19yeah?
05:20Yeah, yeah.
05:20With the amount
05:21of engineers
05:21and knowledge here,
05:22with a lot
05:23of custom parts,
05:24we can definitely
05:25expand the power
05:26of this engine.
05:27Right, OK.
05:28Custom crank.
05:29Really?
05:29We can start
05:30pistons, rods,
05:31all your valves,
05:32valve train.
05:33Valve train.
05:34Gears.
05:34We'll have a look.
05:35It's obviously...
05:36So it's...
05:37It wasn't vaulted down?
05:39No.
05:39OK.
05:40Got no cams.
05:41No, OK.
05:42So we're going
05:43to need some cams, right?
05:44Hmm.
05:44That will upgrade it
05:45a certain look.
05:46Yeah.
05:46We might have a look
05:46at springs, upgrade them,
05:48and that will be
05:49just a starter.
05:50OK.
05:51But after that,
05:52once we start getting...
05:53You go inside it,
05:54then you start getting
05:55into classified information.
05:57So whatever you guys
05:58want to do with this
05:59is absolutely fine.
06:01Make it sink.
06:02See what we can do.
06:04A touch of Cosworth
06:06on a Mondeo engine.
06:08Who'd have thought it?
06:10Now, I was going to say
06:12to you,
06:12ha, beat that,
06:13but I know what's coming up
06:14next, so I won't.
06:15Oh, yeah.
06:15Now, you might have
06:16had a lovely day out
06:17with all your mates
06:18at Cosworth,
06:19but for me,
06:21there was one engine
06:22start-up that I will
06:23never forget,
06:24and it was what I like
06:25to think of as our
06:26own version of Cosworth
06:27at our old mate
06:29Rick Wood's place.
06:31And I know exactly
06:32why you picked this one,
06:33because although we do
06:34get to work on
06:35some pretty amazing cars,
06:36it's not often that we
06:36get to work on
06:37an automotive mythical beast.
06:40Yes, a championship-winning
06:42race car that had all
06:44but disappeared,
06:45but then was found
06:46in a scrub yard,
06:47and we had the honour
06:48of getting it back
06:49on the road.
06:50I am, of course,
06:51talking about
06:52the Metro 6R4.
06:54And this was the moment
06:55that it rose from the dead.
07:05Oh,
07:06what a sight for sore eyes.
07:09Oh, my Rick,
07:10you are a genius.
07:12I feel like I'm in 1985 again.
07:14Look, the livery and everything,
07:16it's just been lifted out.
07:18And this car
07:18has such strong pedigree,
07:21strong provenance.
07:22You're good, you know.
07:23Man, that is amazing.
07:25Well, I'm glad that you were
07:26able to get this far with it.
07:28Never again are you and I
07:30going to live in a time
07:31when a vehicle like this
07:31will ever be made again.
07:33It'll never happen
07:34with, you know,
07:34a V6 petrol-enjured monster.
07:37Those days are gone.
07:38Have you finished?
07:39No, it's just a wow moment.
07:40Well, hold on.
07:40Well, the biggest wow moment
07:41is coming up right now
07:42because if you've finished,
07:43we're going to start it up.
07:44This is visceral.
07:46Can I press the button?
07:46Wait, wait, wait.
07:47Hold on.
07:48What are you doing?
07:49Hold on.
07:49Let me flick the fuel pump on.
07:51Finish it on.
07:52There we go.
07:54Hey!
08:00Yeah.
08:03That sounds brilliant.
08:07Isn't that great?
08:09That is beautiful.
08:13Didn't that sound utterly amazing?
08:15Shall we chuck the boot
08:15with the barn in on
08:16and get it the hell out of here
08:16before we change the form?
08:17Yeah, let's do that.
08:22Yes, if ever there was
08:23a goosebump moment
08:24to top all goosebump moments
08:26on Car SOS,
08:27this surely has to be it.
08:30Until tomorrow, that is,
08:31when Brian and Gerard are in
08:32for one of the biggest days
08:34of their lives.
08:36Talk about all your birthdays
08:38and Christmases
08:38coming at once for us.
08:39If that, wow, dream world here,
08:41if that were my 6R4,
08:43I'd sleep with in the garage.
08:44Oh, God.
08:45Well, it's probably just as well
08:47that it's not yours.
08:48Anyway, when they asked us
08:49to make a list
08:50of all of our favourite
08:51Car SOS moments,
08:53it was a really difficult task,
08:54wasn't it?
08:55Yeah, I mean,
08:55not just because we get to do
08:57so many amazing things,
08:58I mean, like making people's dreams
08:59come true,
09:00we get to do loads
09:01of mechanical stuff,
09:01which is cool,
09:02but we also get to drive
09:03some fantastic cars.
09:05And over the years,
09:06we've taken out
09:06some utter stonkers.
09:08Now, if it's the old pre-war cars,
09:10I usually get to drive them
09:12because I like pre-war cars
09:13and he doesn't know
09:14how to drive them.
09:15That's kind of true,
09:15but if it's the more modern stuff,
09:17I get to drive those
09:17because I'm an 80s and 90s boy
09:19and he doesn't know
09:20how to drive them.
09:21But in our next clip,
09:22we both got to have a go
09:24in one of each.
09:25And we're not just talking
09:26about any old motors.
09:27No, I like to think
09:27that these are kind of like
09:28the Rolls-Royce of cars.
09:31Yeah, funny that, isn't it?
09:33It was a few years back
09:35that Car SOS took on
09:36a 1920s Rolls-Royce
09:38Doctor's Coupe,
09:40and that meant getting
09:41to drive a roller
09:41for the first time ever.
09:44Although not without
09:45some early on dispute.
09:49Woo!
09:50What a beauty!
09:51Look at that!
09:52Man, I am dressed
09:53for the occasion.
09:54Hello there!
09:55Yes!
09:56Look at it!
09:561929 Rolls-Royce 20
09:58with a hooper body!
09:59Oh, man, that is gorgeous,
10:00isn't it?
10:01First one into the driver's seat,
10:02gets to the drive!
10:03Sweet!
10:04What's that, lot?
10:05Ha-ha-ha!
10:06Get out!
10:06I'm...
10:07I want to drive...
10:08I've never driven a race!
10:10Get in the back!
10:12Right, well,
10:13I'll do a backseat review.
10:14All right, you ready?
10:15Like your chauffeur
10:16driving me around, then.
10:17Come on, then.
10:18Off we go.
10:19Off we go.
10:19This is nice.
10:21Silky.
10:22Oh, first boy,
10:25it's great posh
10:26in the back of here, pal.
10:27Beautiful in the front here.
10:29What have you got up there, then?
10:30I've got a leather seat,
10:32a lovely leather seat.
10:33Hang on, you've got leather?
10:35Yeah.
10:35Well, how come I've got
10:36elephant chunky-knit corduroy
10:38in the back of here?
10:38Ah, that's because
10:40this is a wipe-clean surface.
10:42Urgh!
10:42I'd probably get dirty
10:43and do other tasks
10:44like fixing the car
10:46and all that kind of stuff.
10:48And,
10:48when I get back in,
10:49if it was corduroy,
10:51I'd get it all dirty.
10:52Am I your boss, by the way?
10:53Yeah, you are my boss today.
10:54Yeah, yeah.
10:55I'll let you get away with that one.
10:56Is it my car?
10:57It is your car, sir, yes.
10:59So would I technically
10:59be able to drive my car
11:01or probably not?
11:02Well,
11:02you may be able
11:04to drive your car.
11:05Sir?
11:06Sir?
11:06Sorry, sir.
11:07Yeah?
11:07But you wouldn't
11:08ordinarily drive it.
11:10You probably
11:10would just leave that
11:12to sort of like
11:13somebody a bit techie like me.
11:19Is it a really involved
11:21drive, though,
11:21you oik?
11:22Yes, it is
11:23a very involved drive.
11:26There are a lot of levers,
11:27a lot of switches,
11:28a lot of gauges.
11:29I've got to keep my eye
11:30on a load of things.
11:31And also,
11:32the gear stick
11:33is actually down
11:34by my right foot.
11:36Ho, ho, ho!
11:37Watch my gearbox.
11:39It's like I'm in
11:40a nice front room,
11:42you know?
11:42It's like...
11:43It's like the dado rail
11:44round the outsider here,
11:46you know,
11:46with the lovely
11:47mahogany carvings here.
11:49I've got a little...
11:49What's that?
11:50Oh, look at that.
11:51I've got a little light switch
11:52that turns on a light
11:53in the ceiling.
11:54The rear window
11:54is absolutely minuscule.
11:56It's like the size
11:56of a letterbox.
11:57Yeah, well,
11:58you don't want people
11:59observing you.
12:00Because I've got, like,
12:01these two little containers.
12:02Look in your rearview mirror.
12:03Look, them two.
12:04Little bottles.
12:04Little scent bottles.
12:05No, I don't know
12:06if they are scent.
12:07We've got a little
12:08square table on there.
12:10It's about the size
12:11of a 12-inch pizza.
12:13You know,
12:13I feel like I'm driving
12:14around with an oik
12:16in the back.
12:17Somebody who doesn't
12:18understand the refinements
12:21of this beautiful car.
12:22Have you made
12:22your money recently, sir?
12:24No, I come from
12:25old money, pal.
12:26I'll tell you why
12:27it's old money.
12:27That's because it never
12:28comes out of your pocket.
12:29The great thing
12:30about this, though,
12:31is that I can slide
12:32this screen shut.
12:34That is great.
12:35Oh, brilliant.
12:35But you look for me,
12:36so get it open.
12:39Even for the super-rich,
12:40back in the 1920s,
12:42driving a brand-new
12:43Rolls-Royce
12:44must have been
12:44quite an unforgettable
12:45experience.
12:46But have Rolls managed
12:47to cling on to that
12:48thrill factor
12:49over a century later?
12:51Wow.
12:52What do you mean,
12:53wow?
12:54Come on, Tim,
12:54your face looks like
12:56it's just been
12:57smacked with a kipper.
12:58What's happening?
13:00I'm terrified
13:01of the wheels,
13:02by the way,
13:02because these wheels
13:04are a...
13:04If you scuff them,
13:05they are only a replace.
13:07You cannot refurbish
13:08them because they're
13:08made of carbon fiber.
13:09Yeah, they're carbon fiber.
13:10Oh, no.
13:11So what?
13:12How much is a wheel?
13:13£5,000.
13:14£5,000 if you scuff
13:16a wheel.
13:17Watch out for that,
13:18Kurt.
13:18Shut up.
13:19I need to just...
13:20Oh, it's really narrow
13:21down this lane.
13:21No, stop it.
13:22No.
13:22Now, when you were
13:23in the old one,
13:24that was a different
13:24thing, wasn't it?
13:25Yes, you were giving
13:26it all that, weren't you?
13:27I'm scared of it.
13:28Yeah, now you're scared.
13:29Right, wait.
13:34It's powered by a
13:36throbbing twin-turbo
13:37V12, which will chuck
13:39out over 500 brake
13:40horsepower and take
13:41this thing, which,
13:43let's just remind
13:43ourselves of the weight,
13:44more than two and a
13:45half tons, to 60
13:47in 4.8 seconds,
13:49so sub-5, which is
13:50quick.
13:51Yeah.
13:51It is exquisite,
13:53fuzz.
13:53That's what it is.
13:54Well, I've got to say
13:55that this car is a
13:57design award on
13:59wheels, really.
14:00Yeah, it is.
14:00And this machine does
14:02absolutely everything
14:04for you, apart from
14:06turn the wheel.
14:07You don't feel
14:07anything, do you?
14:08No.
14:09So, is that what
14:10this car...
14:11Is a Rolls-Royce
14:12designed for somebody
14:13who's not necessarily
14:14a petrolhead, somebody
14:15who's not necessarily
14:16a driver, as we
14:17call ourselves?
14:19Yeah, perhaps.
14:20You know, is that
14:21what it is?
14:21But if that is the
14:22market, then they've
14:23absolutely nailed it.
14:24Yeah, totally.
14:25They really have.
14:26Totally, I agree
14:26with you.
14:27This car is so well
14:29sound-deadened, would
14:30we have known if we
14:31discussed all four of
14:32the wheels now?
14:33I don't think I've
14:38ever actually been so
14:39nervous driving a car,
14:40but one definitely for
14:42the bucket list.
14:42Yep, indeed.
14:43And coming up, there's
14:45lots more where that
14:45came from, as we
14:47peruse some of our
14:48favourite moments from
14:49over 12 years of
14:50making Car SOS.
14:51Yep, so see you in a
14:52bit when you can find
14:53out what gave one lady
14:54quite a shock.
14:56Hello, and in case you
14:58are wondering what the
14:59hell is going on, and
15:00where is this week's
15:01car?
15:01Well, there isn't one,
15:02because you are
15:03watching Fuzz and my
15:04favourite bits from
15:05recent Car SOSs.
15:06Yes, Tim and I have
15:07come up with a long
15:08list of our most
15:09memorable moments,
15:11including all those
15:12test drives that we do
15:13in the middle of the
15:14show.
15:14Now, back in Series
15:1511, Fuzz and I had
15:16the privilege of
15:16restoring a Jeep
15:17Grand Cherokee for a
15:19very deserving former
15:20soldier, Stefan, who,
15:21in spite of losing
15:22both legs, fancied
15:24himself as a bit of a
15:24competitive off-roader.
15:26And whilst Tim and I
15:27are no strangers to a
15:28gentle bit of off-roading,
15:30it was the competitive
15:31bit that really took us
15:33by surprise.
15:33Yeah, and I don't quite
15:35know what we were
15:36expecting, but sure as
15:37hell, it wasn't this.
15:39You know how we're
15:40modifying Stefan's Jeep?
15:41Yeah, of course.
15:42Thought we should find
15:42out what it's capable of,
15:43so I've booked in to meet
15:44some terrifying blokes in
15:46the field in Wales.
15:47Right, okay.
15:47Anyone seen any anywhere?
15:48How you doing, guys?
15:49All right, come on, then.
15:50Right, okay.
15:50They look like they know
15:52what they're doing.
15:53Yeah, but we don't.
15:54We.
15:55We.
15:55Oh, it's got a bit of
15:57poke, hasn't it?
15:57That's enough of that
15:58already.
15:58Give it some.
16:01That's it.
16:02There we go.
16:02Come on.
16:03Don't worry about that.
16:04Come on.
16:05Come on, keep going.
16:06Keep going.
16:06Keep going.
16:07That's it.
16:08Come on.
16:09That's it.
16:09Come on.
16:10We're up.
16:11Come on.
16:11Yay.
16:14You'd never imagine a car
16:15that this would be capable
16:16of this.
16:17No.
16:17For me, this has given me
16:20a handle on Stefan.
16:21It's told me precisely the
16:22kind of guy he is, and he's
16:23solid.
16:24He is absolutely solid.
16:25He's solid.
16:26I'm sure he's going to
16:27love this, yeah.
16:31Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
16:33Hang on, hang on.
16:33Turn that way.
16:34Turn that way.
16:35Oh, yeah, we're going down.
16:37Woo-hoo-hoo.
16:38There we go.
16:38Right.
16:39Okay, give it some beans.
16:40Come on, come on, come on.
16:41Come on, come on, come on.
16:42Come on, come on.
16:43Come on.
16:44Don't get stuck now.
16:45Come on.
16:45Yeah, baby.
16:46Yay.
16:47Well done.
16:48You did it, man.
16:49Whoa.
16:49Whoa, whoa, whoa.
16:50Keep going.
16:51No, you've got to keep going.
16:53Commit.
16:54Commit.
16:54Remember, side to side,
16:56side to side, if you're getting stuck.
16:58There we are.
16:59There we are.
17:00Otter madness.
17:01Otter off your head.
17:02Come on.
17:03Something wrong with people.
17:04Come on, just do it.
17:06Stop it.
17:07Look, I'm going to drive it
17:08through there.
17:08You want to have a go?
17:09Stop.
17:09Yeah, I do.
17:09Yeah, I want to have a go.
17:10I want to have a go.
17:10Right.
17:11Right, come on, Fuzz.
17:11This is a big one.
17:12This looks deep.
17:13Proper deep.
17:14It is, it is.
17:15Come on, Fuzz.
17:15Hey, hey, hey.
17:16Wait a minute.
17:17Whoa.
17:18No, no, don't.
17:19Ah.
17:20I'm stuck.
17:22Don't worry.
17:22I've got something,
17:23a sneaky thing on the front of this
17:24that's going to get you out of trouble.
17:26There's something I've got a feeling
17:27Stefan's going to want
17:28on the front of his Jeep.
17:29Right.
17:29I'm going to hook you up onto a tree.
17:34Right, here we go.
17:35You're on.
17:36All right, this is a massive hump
17:39to bring it up.
17:44Look at that.
17:44Look at that.
17:45It's doing it.
17:47Come on, Fuzz.
17:47Mott.
17:49Yes.
17:50There you are, son.
17:51Yes.
17:51I'll tell you what, though.
17:52That means that we've got
17:53to fit a winch onto the front of Stefan's.
17:55Yeah, not just a winch, though.
17:56We need the high-leaf kit.
17:57We need the knobblies.
17:58Right, let's get back to the workshop.
17:59We've got some work to do.
18:00Come on, then.
18:01We need to get this out of here first.
18:02I'll unhitch it.
18:04Do you know, that's the first time
18:05I've ever watched that back.
18:06And to be fair, the TV cameras
18:07do not convey the scale
18:09and the fear of doing that off-road.
18:12It was so complicated.
18:14I mean, taking a big steel box
18:16with four wheels on it
18:17where it just does not want to go.
18:20Well, it's funny you should say that, actually,
18:22because that leads us very nicely
18:24onto our next clip.
18:25It was one of our all-time favourite reveals.
18:28But in order to give Hillman Imp owner Margaret
18:31a maximum surprise,
18:33I had to stick my head
18:35where it didn't want to go.
18:36Oh, come on, Fuzz, you know the saying.
18:37You know, no gain without pain.
18:39Yeah, I know the saying,
18:41bums the word.
18:43It was in season eight
18:45that Tim and Fuzz
18:46took Margaret's 1973 Hillman Imp
18:49to Western Burt Arboretum in Gloucestershire.
18:52It's the perfect place to escape to the country.
18:55And, as it turned out,
18:56the last place you'd expect to come face-to-face
18:58with your fully-finished motor.
19:01Look at our little beige Imp.
19:03Fuzz, I cannot believe the transformation.
19:05This is actually...
19:06I never thought this was going to be finally a car.
19:08Well, it is now, and look at it.
19:10Right, so what's the plan?
19:11Right, the plan is actually quite a simple one.
19:13Yeah.
19:13Now, when you come round here
19:14and walk round your family,
19:15there are all sorts of weird and wonderful trails
19:17and things to do here.
19:18Right.
19:18Today, there's going to be an extra fun stuff
19:20because we're creating something called the Imp Den.
19:23Well, Margaret's coming down here
19:24with family and friends
19:25for a little walk around,
19:26and they're going to bump into that Imp Den.
19:29Fantastic.
19:30Now, that Imp Den is going to need protecting.
19:32It's going to need a guard.
19:33Right, OK, so we're going to be dressed as guards.
19:35No, we're a guard.
19:37Singular.
19:38We're one guard.
19:39What do you mean?
19:39We're going to unite, you and I.
19:41My costume's on the seat down there on the driver's seat.
19:42I took us that.
19:43I need to get that on, actually.
19:44So I'm going to be a...
19:46That's a cow.
19:46Yeah.
19:47I'm the front of the cow.
19:49Wait a minute.
19:50So that's me standing up.
19:51No, no, I'm not going to...
19:52No, I'm sick of being the butt of your jokes.
19:56I'm not going to be a cow's bum.
19:59Yes, you are.
20:00I'm not happy about this, Tim.
20:02You're not doing this for me or for you.
20:05This is for Margaret, all right, son?
20:07Well, Fuzz might not be a happy bunny
20:10or even a mildly amused cow's backside come to that,
20:13but friends and family are definitely all smiles.
20:17That's good, isn't it?
20:18That's brand new.
20:19That is impressive.
20:20She's going to be shocked, but, yeah, she's going to love it.
20:22She's not going to recognise it.
20:23She really won't.
20:24Yeah.
20:24So, with the car hidden away in the imp's tent,
20:27Tim in the front of the panto cow
20:29and Fuzz with his head in...
20:31Well, he doesn't bear thinking about it.
20:33How do you talk me into these things?
20:34If you blow off, I'm going to kill you.
20:36Operation Imp My Ride goes into action.
20:40And it's not long before we get the signal
20:42that Margaret and daughter Megan,
20:44who's in on the scam, have arrived.
20:47Sneaking out, sneaking out.
20:48Keep the bomb in.
20:49Keep the...
20:50OK, Fuzz, do...
20:51They're here, they're here.
20:52OK, reverse.
20:53Doop, doop.
20:54Attention.
20:56This cow is reversing.
20:57They're sending a peek round.
20:58They're here, son.
20:59Shh.
20:59Right, go into stealth cow mode.
21:01Here we go.
21:02The camera crew are pretending to be filming for the arboretum,
21:05but will Margaret fall for it?
21:07Chick murders.
21:09Morning, guys.
21:09We did some promotional material for the website.
21:12Would you like a photo with the cow?
21:14Hello.
21:15Hello.
21:16Where are you from?
21:18We're from Stroud.
21:19What's your name?
21:20Margaret.
21:21Hello, what's your name?
21:22Barbara.
21:23Oh, hello, Barbara.
21:24Looking at the camera.
21:25Yep, photo's done.
21:26Getting mighty hot in here.
21:30Oh, my God.
21:33What?
21:34Recognise you?
21:35Do you?
21:35Yeah.
21:36Where from?
21:37Kelly.
21:38Really?
21:38Yeah.
21:40Which telly?
21:41Car SOS.
21:42No way.
21:43Really?
21:44Yeah.
21:44How do you think of my cow impression?
21:45Was it good?
21:45Oh, very, yes.
21:46Do you want to see my back end?
21:48Yeah.
21:48Here's the back end.
21:49Oh, my luck.
21:50How you doing?
21:51How's that one?
21:51I recognise that one, yeah.
21:53Like my furry trousers.
21:54Hang on a minute.
21:55The imp den.
21:57There's the sign.
21:57Oh, no.
21:58No, no, no.
22:00Well, let's have a look.
22:01Can we have a look and see if there's something hiding underneath that tent, please?
22:04Right about now.
22:05Oh, flippin' hell!
22:14Blimey!
22:15Recognise her?
22:16Yeah.
22:17Last time I saw her, she didn't have a front number plate.
22:19That's your car?
22:20Yeah, that is my car.
22:22That is your car?
22:23Yeah.
22:23And there are a few other people here as well who'd like to say hello.
22:27Oh, my God.
22:29We had a letter from Phil and from Megan saying that you had a beautiful little hillonym,
22:33and it was a car that you absolutely adore, and how much...
22:37No, no, I notice it's taking some sinking in.
22:39That is your hillonym.
22:42That is my hillonym.
22:43Say it again.
22:44That is my hillonym.
22:45Can you believe it?
22:46Yeah.
22:47And I've done it since 75.
22:48Can we have a round of applause for Margaret, please?
23:01Right.
23:05How does it feel?
23:06Try and put it into words.
23:07That's just amazing.
23:09I mean, never thought it would happen.
23:13Can I just say, Fuzz, and I don't want to take away from your wonderful performance as the
23:17back end of a cow, but I do think you milked it a bit.
23:22Milked it, get it?
23:23Yeah, yeah, yeah.
23:24Well, I hope that I didn't, because you had the udders.
23:28Anyway, moving on, what you might not know is there's one part of Car SOS that both Tim
23:33and I always look forward to, and that's when the family drop in to see how the world
23:37work on the car is getting on.
23:39Yes, because what you probably don't realise is just how nervous they all are.
23:43It's that moment when they suddenly wonder, hmm, have we done the right thing by dropping
23:47off our loved one's cherished car to two complete strangers?
23:51It's also the moment when they're the most vulnerable to the odd practical joke.
23:55Exactly.
23:56And way back in Series 6, we had a VW Carmen gear in the workshop, although when the owner's
24:00wife, Rachel, dropped in to see it, well, it didn't quite, didn't look like a Carmen
24:04gear.
24:05In fact, it didn't look like any sort of car come to that.
24:08And those are the golden opportunities for Fuzz and myself, well, that we can't resist.
24:15So, a working engine is a major relief, although not for owner Lee's wife, Rachel, who's popped
24:21in to see how progress is going on her hubby's beloved car.
24:26Boy, is she in for a shock.
24:28Yeah.
24:28Hi.
24:29How are you doing again?
24:30How are you doing again?
24:31I'm good.
24:32Right, she's coming down to see the car.
24:33How, and most importantly, is Lee?
24:35He's all right at the moment, thank you.
24:37Well, I'm sorry to do this, but I am the bearer of some pretty bad news.
24:43Okay.
24:44About the car.
24:45Right, okay.
24:46And we use a process called dipping, which is a risk to do it, but sometimes you can be
24:51left with very little of the car left.
24:53Is there very little of the car left, then?
24:56It's kind of...
24:57Yes, is the answer to that.
24:58Right, okay.
24:58How are you feeling?
25:00A bit sick.
25:01What do you think of the car?
25:03Well, this?
25:07Yeah.
25:08This is the car?
25:09I don't know what to say.
25:11I kid you not, that is...
25:12How am I going to explain this to Lee?
25:15It is a risk that you take, contacting car sausage.
25:19Yeah, sure.
25:20But do you think he could possibly consider using that as a sort of skateboardy, roller skatey,
25:24kind of go-karty thing?
25:26Probably not, to be honest.
25:27Okay, um, what would he say if he saw that?
25:31Probably divorce me.
25:32At least we know that this bit is now safe, whereas...
25:37It wasn't before, no.
25:39But we've got...
25:39But he had a car that he could maybe have driven.
25:42Okay, well, thanks for coming, and we'll see you...
25:45I'm in shock.
25:46Okay, well, we'll go out through this door.
25:48I think we should exit by this.
25:49Okay.
25:50The exit is just through here.
25:53That's the door out.
25:54Yeah.
25:55Of the place.
25:56Is that not Lee's car?
25:57Well, that's Lee's car as well.
25:59Okay.
26:01Your face is brilliant.
26:03So this is the top bit.
26:04Okay, got you.
26:06Come here.
26:07Right, how are you feeling?
26:09Relieved.
26:09Okay.
26:10Do you want a cup of tea?
26:10Yeah, that'd be lovely.
26:12I need some sugar or something.
26:12Tell me the truth here.
26:13Do you still want to punch us?
26:15Just be honest.
26:16No, no, I'm over it.
26:17I'm okay.
26:17Yeah, really.
26:18That's brilliant.
26:19What a girl.
26:19Just Tim.
26:21Yeah.
26:21Yeah.
26:21Yeah, okay.
26:22Come on, let's go get you a cup of tea.
26:24All right.
26:28Was that a bit cruel?
26:29Yes.
26:30Was that a bit funny, though?
26:31Yes, 100%.
26:33Job done, then.
26:34Sweet.
26:34High five.
26:35Now, coming up next is another one of our favourite reveals, so don't go away.
26:39Hi there.
26:40You're watching a collection of clips that represent some of our favourite moments from across 12
26:45years of making Car SOS.
26:46Right, boat to pick.
26:47Favourite clips.
26:48This next one coming up.
26:49I don't remember this as...
26:50I don't even remember enjoying it.
26:52Oh, well.
26:53Were you a bit off colour on that day, were you?
26:55Absolutely, yes.
26:56Oh, no.
26:57It was the night before.
26:58I was working so hard on getting parts, and I was burning the midnight oil at both ends.
27:04I see.
27:05Yeah.
27:05Well, the occasion that Tim is talking about is the time that we both went to rally school.
27:10I remember enjoying it very, very much.
27:13But, Tim, well, let's just see what happens, shall we?
27:17Nope.
27:18Back in the 1980s, Peugeot ruled the rally circuits with their 205 T16.
27:24It was a turbocharged, mid-engine, 424 brake horse beast.
27:30It won the Group B World Rally Championship back-to-back.
27:34The drivers may have been legendary, but today there are two new kids on the Ken block.
27:41Welcome to rally school.
27:43Here we are.
27:44Must be in the right place.
27:45Let's go back to a rally car.
27:48Ah.
27:48Are you Ian?
27:49The man is going to teach us how to be better drivers.
27:52Nice to meet you, both.
27:53All right, good to meet you, mate.
27:54I'm Tim.
27:54You're welcome.
27:54Right, now, can I start by saying we have never driven a rally car.
27:57Are we driving this?
27:57No, you're not.
27:58What you're going to be in is the Peugeot 206 Cup car.
28:02And then we're going to have a competition.
28:03Right, OK.
28:04A time trial.
28:05Correct.
28:05So, motorsports fans, here we go.
28:08Files, the hat, Townsend versus Tim, the mouth, Shaw, against the clock, pride at stake.
28:14I think Tim looks great in a helmet because all of his chins go to either side of the strap.
28:20I love my job.
28:23It's the best job on the planet.
28:24I'm happy.
28:25In three, two, one, go.
28:29There he goes, in a cloud of dust.
28:32The course is just over a mile long.
28:34Conditions are perfect.
28:36It should be quite a battle, even though neither driver has been on a rally circuit in their lives.
28:42Try not to rush, Tim, because what you'll do is you'll push yourself beyond the speed that your brain can actually keep up.
28:47Shaw into the first turn.
28:49Straight into a 180.
28:50Going back to the beginning.
28:51And through to form, starts cheating.
28:55That was a bit quick.
28:56If you try and rush and chase time and try and be fast, you're missing out on all of the important information.
29:02Go.
29:03Good.
29:04Keep the car dead, straight and stable.
29:06Third gear's fine.
29:07Keep the speed on, now lift weight.
29:08Power, power, power.
29:10Straight wheels, though.
29:11So you keep your accelerator pedal locked.
29:14Yeah, pretty much.
29:15You're far too eager to be fast.
29:17Gently let it grip.
29:18Yep, yep, yep.
29:22Too much, then.
29:23I can feel the pressure.
29:29Over the line, Shaw sets the mark.
29:31Do you know what?
29:32I've got a couple of corners right.
29:34What has Townsend got to reply to that?
29:36That is the most fun I've had for as long as I can possibly remember.
29:42Is that right?
29:43It is absolutely brilliant.
29:46If I don't see you again...
29:47I think he's saying he loves you.
29:49Dare I say this as a through-and-through petrol head, but that's the most fun I've ever had on four wheels.
29:55The time to beat is one minute, 34 seconds, and he's off.
29:59Good.
30:00And away we go.
30:01Up in the second gear.
30:02Good.
30:02Nice and gentle on the clutch notch.
30:04This is really counterintuitive.
30:06It is.
30:07First time rallying, Townsend prefers the older cars.
30:10But will this Group A Super Cup 1.6-litre race-tuned engine, 150 brake horsepower, full rally suspension, Peugeot 206, be too much?
30:21Yes, he spun out.
30:24Do you know, I thought I knew exactly how cars were going to work.
30:28Dead straight wheels, back on the power.
30:29Keep tight, T.
30:30Pull the handbrake, pull the handbrake.
30:32Good.
30:32Now, straight wheels and power.
30:34You're using the handbrake to help you turn, remember.
30:36So, look into your corner.
30:38Good.
30:39Straight at, steer left a little.
30:40Good.
30:40Power, power.
30:42Just the three wheels.
30:43Aha!
30:44And over the line.
30:45But who is the car SOS rally champ?
30:49Let me see your face.
30:52Did you enjoy that or what?
30:54No.
30:56Thank you, Ian.
30:57That was brilliant.
30:58That was so much fun.
30:59Yes, all smiles, but what were the times?
31:02One minute, 32.40.
31:05Second place.
31:07Tim.
31:08Yes, I came second!
31:09Yes, I came second!
31:12Second!
31:15Or last, as it's otherwise.
31:17Oh, no, shut up.
31:18Yeah, yeah.
31:18Anyway, it's time to get back to our favourite moments.
31:21Yes, exactly.
31:22Of course, there's one moment in every single episode
31:24that we always look forward to,
31:26and that is the reveal.
31:28Yes, it's that magical bit
31:29when all the hard work has come to an end
31:31and when the spotlight turns to the owner.
31:34Now, it's always a bit of a nervous moment for us
31:36because it's usually the first time
31:38we've ever met the owner in person
31:39and we just don't know
31:41whether they're going to be pleased
31:42or they're going to go,
31:44what the hell have you done to my car?
31:46Luckily, that's yet to happen.
31:48And one thing's for sure,
31:49it didn't happen with the owner in our next clip.
31:53This was, without doubt,
31:54the worst vehicle we've ever brought in.
31:56But after weeks and weeks in the workshop,
31:59the team somehow managed to bring the thing back to life.
32:02Now, the vehicle in question was the Bedford Ice Cream Van
32:06and its owner was Barbara.
32:07Now, luckily, she'd never even seen Car SOS,
32:10which gave us carte blanche to invite her down
32:12to do an interview on camera
32:13for a local TV series about people in the community.
32:17Wow, that's brilliant, that.
32:25I'm gobsmacked.
32:25I'm absolutely...
32:26Beechless.
32:27Yeah, I like it.
32:28You like it a lot.
32:29Yeah, I like it.
32:31Well, with everyone in the van hidden out of sight,
32:35it's time for Operation I'll Have a 99 With Nuts
32:38to go into action.
32:40And bang on time,
32:42Barbara, who only lives around the corner,
32:43shows up for her interview with well-known historian
32:46Dr Chris Peacock,
32:48who's off the telly.
32:50This is Chris.
32:52Barbara, hi.
32:52How are you?
32:53This is Barbara, my mum.
32:54Nice to meet you.
32:55You all right?
32:56I've got you.
32:56Come and have a wander down the line.
32:58What's that you've got there?
32:59It's an album of when we started the ice cream.
33:04We're looking to do new things
33:06and what gets kids into places.
33:08Ice cream.
33:09Yeah, so what we'll do is position you here, Barbara.
33:13Yeah.
33:13Here with your back sort of facing this way.
33:15That's all right?
33:16Back facing.
33:17So you stand here.
33:18Yeah.
33:19How was it you first, you know,
33:20got into the whole ice cream selling?
33:22Well, I met, we had a blind day.
33:24There's only been, like, going seven years when I...
33:27Really?
33:28When I met Ronnie.
33:30We finished when we retired.
33:33So Barbara is now all comfortable with being on camera.
33:37Little does she realise that the jaws of the car SOS trap
33:40are about to snap.
33:42What we're really struggling for, you know, we want an old van,
33:45but that's the...
33:46Well, I've got one, but it's...
33:48What, is it in nice condition?
33:50No.
33:51Oh, really?
33:52So you've kept it?
33:53Yeah.
33:53Why...
33:54Because it's the only thing that I've got now is the ice cream.
33:58Did it have a unique sound?
34:00The chimes we used to have was the Blue Danube.
34:03Blue Dan...
34:03Oh, Blue Danube.
34:04Blue Danube.
34:05Yeah.
34:05Hey, what's that?
34:11What's...
34:11What's that?
34:12Do you recognise that sound?
34:14Well, there's a little more to this,
34:16and we'd like to show you something outside.
34:19Will you come outside with me and have a little look at something?
34:22Yeah?
34:23There's a little more to today than might first meet the eye.
34:26It's something that you've really dearly missed,
34:28but it's not quite in the condition that it was.
34:36That's not that.
34:38That is.
34:38Your van.
34:39That is your van.
34:40Come round here.
34:42Me and that man there,
34:44we do a television show called RSOS,
34:47and Roland and Chrissie here wrote to us and said,
34:50we've got a little lady called Barbara
34:51who could really, really do with your help.
34:54It's unbelievable.
34:55Original number plate.
34:58I know all number plates that we have.
35:01What memories have you got?
35:03Me going out harking with it.
35:05Good memories.
35:06All the kids running up and...
35:08Coming for a free bubbly.
35:09Jumping on back.
35:11Can we have a round of applause for Barbara, please?
35:13Yay!
35:15So the whole museum thing was a scam.
35:17This was all about giving me back your ice cream van.
35:21Gorgeous, isn't it?
35:22You did a lot of keeping that away from me, didn't you?
35:24Yeah, would you like to have a look
35:25round?
35:26We're going to vote for you, Van.
35:27Yeah?
35:27Yeah.
35:31How's that, Barbara?
35:32Oh, it's fantastic.
35:35It's beautiful.
35:37Ah, that brought back a few well-needed
35:39and cherished memories for the lovely Barbara.
35:42Yeah, and you and I have seen her since then
35:44because she brought the van to her stand
35:46at the British Motor Show a couple of years back
35:48and she's still out there selling ice creams
35:51at charity events and raising loads of money.
35:53Now, people often ask us
35:55what happens to the cars once we give them back
35:57and coming up in a bit,
35:59Fuzz and I thought we would find out for ourselves
36:01we jumped in the car and went off on a road trip.
36:04Don't go away.
36:05So here we go.
36:06Here's the brand new paint.
36:08Bogey green?
36:11You can't do that.
36:12It's a botanic thing.
36:13Sorry, bogey green.
36:14You can't do that.
36:16No.
36:17No, no, no.
36:18He won't have it back like that.
36:20Hello and welcome back to the final part
36:29of mine and Tim's favourite moments
36:31from across the last 12 series.
36:33Now, one of the questions we often get asked is
36:35do the owners keep in touch after the show?
36:37Well, the answer is yes.
36:39And in fact, Fuzz and I have been on the occasional road trip
36:42to see how they're getting on.
36:43Yep, and a few years ago we went to see the owner
36:46of my all-time favourite Car SOS car.
36:49Can you guess what it is?
36:51I can.
36:51I'm sure you can.
36:52Well, check this out.
36:56What would you say, Fuzz,
36:58of all the things that you've learned from Car SOS
37:00as being like the key thing that you kind of think about
37:04when you fall asleep at night?
37:05The one main thing is the passion that people have for their cars.
37:09How much those cars really mean to them.
37:11They've never given up on them.
37:13Do you know which car, though,
37:14I would say the owner had more love for that car.
37:17I mean, all the owners love their cars,
37:19but that one guy.
37:20You ready?
37:22Monet.
37:23Ah, ACS Seeker.
37:24Yeah, ma'am.
37:25Fancy going to Leeds?
37:26Yes, I do.
37:27Do you want to go and see it?
37:28Yeah, I want to do more than see it.
37:30Yeah, drive it.
37:30I want to have a drive, yeah.
37:32The last time Tim and Fuzz headed for Leeds
37:35it was to try and pull off
37:36the most daring car SOS heist ever.
37:39Monet Channer had treasured his 1957 AC a Seeker
37:45since buying it in the early 1970s.
37:48But having suffered a stroke and then cancer
37:50Monet's wife Helen and son Richard
37:52made the car SOS call.
37:55Hi, Monet.
37:56Monet kept the AC at home under lock and key
37:59so to prize it from his grasp
38:00the boys had to secretly film a daring double bluff.
38:03Shall we get a town into the daylight?
38:05That involved Fuzz posing as a museum curator
38:08and Tim staying out of sight just down the drive.
38:12Okay, they're in.
38:13Yeah.
38:14Wow, that is stunning.
38:15Look at that.
38:15Yeah, it's beautiful.
38:17Get it on the back of the lorry.
38:21Right, it's in, it's in.
38:22With the car snuck away to base
38:24and after pausing to admire its stylish lines
38:27This is absolutely stunning.
38:30The work began.
38:32The ageing aluminium body needed some crafty repairs by Fuzz
38:36who also rebuilt and upgraded the engine.
38:39We got it.
38:41Getting the car back into one piece
38:43meant all hands to the pump.
38:45And after the odd scary moment...
38:48Oh, gently.
38:49Oh!
38:51Who's in charge of that knob?
38:53The Aseeker was ready to be handed back.
38:55With Tim resplendent in a right royal disguise...
39:00Sir, this is Monet Channer.
39:02Is one of these yours?
39:03No, no, no, no.
39:05Mine's a bit of a wreck at the moment.
39:08Monet unwittingly found himself
39:10stood right in front of his very own car.
39:12Your one is a sort of rusty appearance, isn't it?
39:16Before the wool was pulled from his eyes.
39:20What?
39:22That's mine.
39:23That's my car.
39:23Yes, that's your car.
39:24That's your car.
39:25Right, that's your car.
39:35Now that Monet's had the car back a few months...
39:38I know it's around here somewhere.
39:40Tim and Fuzz have come to see
39:42how their motor car medication is working out.
39:45Oh, no, Fuzz.
39:47Calamity has struck.
39:48They've sold it and bought a Toyota Aventis.
39:52Hello.
39:52Hello.
39:52Hello, Your Highness.
39:56Admiral Helmet, commander of the Royal Armies of the North.
39:59Lovely to see you.
39:59How are you?
40:00It's actually quite weird to be here,
40:01because the last time I was here,
40:02you don't even know I've been here.
40:03I was hiding in the back of a truck down there.
40:05That's correct.
40:06I had no idea at all, whatsoever.
40:09Now, I've got a bone to pick with you.
40:10We have reason to believe that you might have sold the Asika
40:13and bought that.
40:14I have, actually, yeah.
40:15No way.
40:16That's my new car.
40:19It's in there, isn't it?
40:20It's in the garage.
40:20Oh, let's have a look.
40:22It's not going to go anywhere, that one, no, eh?
40:24Good.
40:25Let's open it.
40:27Yes, there it is.
40:28Fantastic.
40:29Wow.
40:30That's what I'm talking about.
40:31It's kind of emotional.
40:33Fuzz, do you feel it as well?
40:34Yeah.
40:34You've done a beautiful job, super job.
40:36What does it mean to you?
40:37Oh, it means a lot.
40:40I never, ever, ever imagined to see it like that again.
40:43And then here you are.
40:45Well, it's our pleasure.
40:46Brilliant.
40:47Now, listen, Monet, I wondered if we could go out for a drive in it,
40:50you and me.
40:51Certainly.
40:52You can take it, borrow it, drive it any time you want.
40:55Fantastic.
40:56Right, let's go.
40:58Oh, that's...
40:59Lovely, eh?
41:00That fired up straight away.
41:01That's super, eh?
41:02Oh, here we go.
41:03There we go.
41:04Look, look at that.
41:06There it goes.
41:07That is gorgeous.
41:08Oh, my God.
41:09How has it changed, Monet, since the car's come back?
41:12Oh, incredibly.
41:13It's like a little boy with a new toy.
41:18Brilliant.
41:21Health-wise, do you think the car's perked him up at all?
41:23Oh, definitely, without a doubt, yes.
41:26Because he's taken back now to his younger days,
41:30and every day now he'll say to me,
41:32Oh, let me just go and have a look at this on the car.
41:34Does he?
41:35Let me just go and do that, so he's in a better frame of mind.
41:38Because he's got everything that he'd ever dreamed of.
41:41Yeah.
41:41I can see why you kept it for so long.
41:43Yeah.
41:44And the thing is, I never thought I'd drive it again.
41:48Yeah.
41:48And, you know, here we are.
41:50I'm honest, I can't believe in that.
41:52Well, I'm pleased that we're able to be a little part of that.
41:55I know it's been a bit of a tough journey for you as well,
41:57and I'm surprised that you've invited me into your house, if I'm honest,
42:00because do you remember a tin of green paint?
42:02I do remember that.
42:04What do you remember about that?
42:05Oh, my goodness.
42:06I'll never forget that.
42:08Buzzbot, the family are here.
42:09Helen was paying a visit to the car SOS workshop
42:12to check on progress on her husband's beloved car.
42:15That had already left her somewhat shell-shocked.
42:18Oh, wow.
42:19Oh, my goodness.
42:20Oh.
42:20But what we didn't include in the original show
42:23was one of Tim's more merciless wind-ups.
42:27Now, we've had a big question
42:28with regards to the colour the car's going to be.
42:31So I have invested in some very expensive paint,
42:35and I want your initial reaction,
42:36because this is the colour we've decided to paint the car.
42:38So here we go.
42:39Here's the brand-new paint.
42:42No.
42:43Bogey green?
42:43You can't do that.
42:45It's a metallic paint.
42:46Sorry, bogey green.
42:46You can't do that.
42:49No.
42:49No, no, no.
42:51He won't have it back like that.
42:59OK, we're not really doing it that colour.
43:01We're joking.
43:04Your reaction was just priceless.
43:07You know, I was dreaming of a reaction like that,
43:08and you gave it me.
43:09It was great.
43:11What a beautiful car.
43:13It's so bad.
43:14Yeah.
43:14I'm so pleased to see that he's loved it,
43:16and it's given him a new lease of life.
43:18Oh, yeah.
43:18And he's a happy guy.
43:19Oh, yes, without a doubt.
43:25Oh, that was just such a lovely moment.
43:27And don't we, I'll tell you what,
43:28we've got the best jobs in the world, man.
43:30Yeah, we certainly do.
43:31And I've got to say,
43:32when they asked us to come up with a few of our favourite moments,
43:35the reality is, well,
43:37it's all one great big favourite moment.
43:40All 12 years of it.
43:41Well, we don't know if we're going to be around to do another 12 years.
43:44Well, he definitely won't be.
43:46But you never know.
43:47And one thing is for sure,
43:49we're both up for doing at least one more year.
43:52Yes, another 10 cars and another 10 deserving owners.
43:56So we will see you very soon.
43:59Bye-bye.
