Against the Sun is a World War II survival drama directed by Brian Falk. The film is based on the true story of three U.S. Navy airmen—pilot Harold Dixon (Garret Dillahunt), bombardier Tony Pastula (Tom Felton), and radioman Gene Aldrich (Jake Abel)—who are forced to ditch their Douglas TBD Devastator torpedo bomber in the South Pacific on January 16, 1942. Stranded on a small life raft without food or water, they endure 34 harrowing days at sea, drifting over 1,000 miles before reaching the island of Pukapuka. The film portrays their struggle for survival against the elements, starvation, and internal conflicts, highlighting themes of resilience and camaraderie.
