00:00Hello, my name is Ben Banks from the Edinburgh Evening News, here to bring you the latest
00:06reaction after Neil Critchley's sacking as Hart of Midrothian head coach. Both he and
00:11assistant Mike Garrity have moved on from their roles at Tynecastle following a 1-0
00:16defeat to Dundee in the first of the bottom six fixtures that leave Hart now looking over
00:22their shoulder to 11th place in Ross County. Neil Critchley came in earlier this season
00:28in the autumn after the sacking of Stephen Naismith, a poor start to the season which
00:31contributed a large part to why the club eventually finished outside the top half of the table.
00:38He came in, steadied the ship, got some decent results, the likes of Ominia in the Conference
00:43League but there was always a thing hanging over Neil Critchley and that was the ability
00:48to deliver in big games. The likes of Petro Cub in the Conference League where they tumbled
00:53out of that at the league phase in pretty poor fashion, not winning a derby against
00:58Hibbs, not winning against Aberdeen most recently in a Scottish Cup semi-final, no wins over
01:04Rangers and Celtic and when it came down to the top six crunch for two games to get into
01:08the top six, a home game against Dundee United and an away game at Motherwell, Hart's failed
01:13to score a goal, a 0-0 draw with Motherwell and a 1-0 defeat by Dundee United and on the return
01:20to Tyncastle after finishing the bottom six, they then suffered another 1-0 defeat this
01:25time against Dundee. So that proved enough for the Tyncastle hierarchy to make their decision
01:32on Neil Critchley, Liam Fox becomes interim head coach, felt like after the 1-0 defeat
01:37against Dundee it left the board in a bit of position, fans had fully turned and when
01:42that happens there usually is only one outcome whether that be in the short term or whether
01:47that can tumbles down the road. So now Hart's going to their final four fixtures with Fox
01:53in charge like he was earlier in the season and all thoughts will be turning towards the
01:58summer, recruitment, who comes in as the new head coach or manager but also in the short
02:03term now as well making sure that they pick up enough points to ensure that they are not
02:07fully dragged into this relegation playoff mire.
