00:00Newcastle United 3, Ipswich Town 0 here at St James's Park this afternoon and that was
00:06an easy afternoon's work for Newcastle United in the end. Certainly not in the first half
00:11because Ipswich came here, sat in, frustrated, Newcastle, physical, feisty, and we saw themselves
00:18reduced to ten men. Ben Johnson seen two yellow cards, the first for a dive and a second clever
00:26touch by Alexander Iza, and Ben Johnson just pulls Alexander Iza, very cynical, an obvious
00:31yellow card, there was moments when the referee sort of lost control of the game, there was
00:36a, when Bruno Gimaraes thought he'd opened the score and realistically didn't do anything
00:40wrong, studies ground in front of the goalkeeper, the goalkeeper flashed it, the ball ends up
00:45in the net, hits up, Bruno goes net, goal disallowed, VR looked great, it's disallowed,
00:50he was very, very soft, but there was a lot of moments in that first half that made it
00:53quite feisty, but Newcastle managed to take the lead just before half-time, Alexander Iza
00:59from the penalty spot, Jacob Murphy was fouled by Julio Incenso, and Alexander Iza stepped
01:05up from 12 yards to send, well, to bury the ball under, past Alex Palmer, it wasn't the
01:12best penalty, but it was certainly out of power, and it matched up the switch goalkeeper, and
01:17then the second half, as I say, Newcastle just cruised to victory in the end, it was a,
01:23it was a nothing contest, really, once Dan Byrne made a 2-0 from Kieran Triplias' goal,
01:29Kieran Triplias' cross, it was sort of steady from then on, and Willisula comes off the
01:35bench and gets his first Premier League goal, a really, really nice moment for him, towering
01:41header from Kieran Triplias' corner, so, yeah, Newcastle, as I say, back up to third in the
01:46Premier League table now, a big win in terms of finishing inside the top five, they've got
01:51tougher tests to come, of course, they've got Brighton away next week before hosting
01:54Chelsea here at St. Janos Park, and what would potentially be the side-out with Chelsea beating
01:58Everton today, they're very much around Newcastle in the table, but they've done a lot to do
02:02today, and they've got the goal difference back up, obviously lost 4-1 at Villa last week,
02:06but managed to win 3-0 today, so the goal difference is restored to where it was prior to Aston Villa,
02:11and, yeah, we now focus on the final four games of the Premier League season, great to see
02:15Eddie Howe back on the touchline today, wasn't his usual shouty self, shall we say, he left
02:21that to Jason Tindall, actually got yellow carded in that second half, not sure why yet, but,
02:26yeah, the referee came along, Michael Sorsby, booked Jason Tindall, that's his third of the
02:29season, so Jason Tindall, as I understand, will serve a touchline ban against Brighton next
02:34week, but, yeah, that's the next test for Newcastle in this race for Champions League qualification.
