00:06Hi, I'm Brenda from St Francis Parish Church in Teesside.
00:11We've almost come to the end of another week. For church, the first week of the Easter season.
00:19On the very day Jesus was resurrected from the dead,
00:22we hear the disciples were in a locked room in fear of being arrested.
00:28But Jesus came into that locked room and stood among them and said, Peace be with you.
00:34And Jesus showed them his hands and his side, the wounds that had been inflicted upon him on the cross.
00:42And the disciples believed and rejoiced when they saw the Lord.
00:47But the disciple Thomas was not with them.
00:50A week later the disciples were again in the house and this time Thomas was with them.
00:56And although the doors were shut, Jesus again came and stood among them, saying, Peace be with you.
01:04Then said to Thomas, Put your finger here and see my hands.
01:08Reach out your hand and put it in my side.
01:11Do not doubt, do not doubt, but believe.
01:15Thomas answered him, My Lord and my God.
01:20What a difference one week can make. Early last Sunday the disciples would have been having the worst day of their lives,
01:27thinking Jesus had been killed, thinking Jesus had been killed and that was the end of the story.
01:33For Thomas, those doubts remained until Jesus returns to the locked room and says, Peace be with you.
01:40How amazing is God, the God of love we see in the person of Jesus, who cares that Thomas still had doubts.
01:51Thomas answers Jesus with, My Lord and my God.
01:54Even if we sometimes have questions, Christians all over the world believe Jesus is Lord and God.
