00:00So, Reverend, you just spoke there about what Pope Francis did at his time in the role as Pope.
00:07But there's so much speculation. This is what I wanted to talk to you about, is who is going to be the next Pope.
00:15And do you think the next Pope will follow on those lines of reform as Pope Francis did?
00:22Because everyone's wondering if this is what's going to happen.
00:26An excellent question. And so while they're preparing for the funeral, the cardinals from around the world, and these are cardinals are like senators in a democratic government.
00:36So these are, they're all men and they're all priests and they're all bishops who have been selected mostly by Francis to elect his successor.
00:43And there's 133 of them that are coming now to Rome. Many of them have already arrived for the funeral.
00:48And then they'll be gathering for the conclave. Now, with respect to Francis's reform agenda,
00:55he really wanted to make the church more of a welcoming church.
00:59And in doing so, at times, he seems to have watered down what the church really believes in.
01:04He wasn't always capable of articulating with clarity the principles of the church's tradition.
01:10So I suspect that his successor, the new Pope that will come, will be one who will continue with his spirit of reform while also being more clear about the tradition of the church that we believe was handed down to us by God.
