00:00The Basilica stayed open, as I said, almost all night to allow the tens of thousands of people
00:06to pay their respects to Pope Francis. Why have we seen such an outpouring of love and so many
00:13people joining the queue? Well, it's really beautiful. Pope Francis, from the beginning of
00:18his papacy 12 years ago, really established himself as a Pope of mercy, of compassion,
00:23who reaches out to the marginalized and to the poor. He's also promoted peace and he promoted
00:29dialogue among all believers in God, including the Islamic world. And the Christians all
00:35around the world see him as representing the fatherhood of God and therefore a principle
00:40of unity. And this is the Jubilee of year of hope that Pope Francis promulgated, which means
00:47that Christians were already going to Rome in order to receive special blessings as they
00:52renew their hope in Jesus.
