Jammu and Kashmir Police demolished the houses of two accused in the deadly Pahalgam terror attack — Asif Sheikh and Adil Thokar alias Adil Guri — during search operations in Pulwama and Anantnag districts.

Asif Sheikh, an active militant, had a house in Monghama, Tral. During the search, security forces detected suspicious objects inside the premises. While the team retreated for safety, a powerful explosion razed the house. Police suspect explosive material, possibly an IED, was deliberately planted to target security personnel.

In another operation, the house of Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Adil Thokar in Guri, Bijbehara, was also demolished. Thokar, who legally traveled to Pakistan in 2018 and allegedly received terror training, is believed to have played a key role in the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people.

Authorities believe both houses were rigged with explosive devices to harm search teams.

Speaking from Madhubani, Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowed a crackdown on terrorism, declaring that those behind the Pahalgam attack would be "tracked down and punished till the end of the earth."
