The Prime Minister Keir Starmer has sparked backlash after using Saint George’s Day to call for the English flag to be “reclaimed” from those he claims are “sowing division in our communities.”GB News presenter Martin Daubney hit out at the Prime Minister’s comments in an exclusive video for GBN members, accusing him of targeting English identity while ignoring similar issues in other parts of the UK.“Why is it that today, of all days, the Prime Minister decides it’s a good idea to get out of bed and have a pop at everybody who's English?” Daubney asked. “He would never in a million years talk about Scottish nationalism, or anti-English racism we saw during the referendum campaign. You’ll never hear that on Saint Andrew’s Day.”

00:00Hello to you wonderful TV News members on St George's Day and a very, very happy St George's Day to you.
00:06Or is it? Because today the Prime Minister, Skiir Starmer, decided to write a piece where he was saying
00:11today is a day to reclaim the flag from, quote, people trying to sow division in our communities.
00:20And of course, he went on to talk about the Southport riots.
00:24Do you remember? He called everybody there far right back in the day.
00:29Why is it that today of all days, the Prime Minister decides it's a good idea to get out of bed
00:34and have a pop at everybody who's English on St George's Day?
00:39He would never in a trillion years talk about Scottish nationalism,
00:43anti-English racism that we saw from Scottish nationalists during the referendum campaign.
00:49He would never talk about that on St Andrew's Day. In fact, he'd never talk about it on any day.
00:54No, he'd be too worried about upsetting the Scottish.
00:57Same for the Welsh. The same for the Irish.
01:01He wouldn't even talk about criticising the Afghanis, the Ghazans, around the pro-Palestine flags.
01:08Of course he wouldn't. So why is it open season to have a pop at St George?
01:13The reaction has been astonishing from GBU's viewers.
01:16Hands off St George's Day. Keep the politics out of it.
01:19Just like Armistice Day, it should be a day of celebration, of celebrating what's great to be English.
01:25I'm looking for the problems. We've had the conversation about St. Paul.
01:29People are in jail for Facebook posts.
01:32And it always seems to be, to me, the metropolitan liberal elite.
01:37I know that's a cliche. It's a cliche for a reason.
01:39They're the ones having a pop at Englishness on England's day.
01:45Our proud day should be a time to reflect, to actually come together.
01:50And Sir Keir Starmer is looking for those who sow division in our communities.
01:54I put it to you, GBU's members.
01:56It's the Prime Minister sowing division.
01:58And he's sowing division on St George's Day.
