A 17-year-old boy has been charged after allegedly assaulting a 79-year-old man at a polling booth in Sydney’s inner west yesterday afternoon.

00:14Now, emergency services were called at around 1 p.m. yesterday afternoon after reports someone
00:20had been assaulted.
00:21And when paramedics arrived, they found and treated the 79-year-old man for serious head
00:27injuries, and he's since been taken to Prince Alfred Hospital.
00:31Now, as for the teenager, he was refused bail.
00:35He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and he's due to face a children's
00:42court today.
00:44And there was another incident like this earlier in the week.

00:50This is the second incident this week, and pre-polling has only been open for three days
00:55now.
00:55Now, this second incident happened in the electorate of Bennelong in Sydney's northwest,
01:00where a 30-year-old man started to become aggressive.
01:05Now, police say that he was kicking core flutes and advertising material before going on to
01:11intimidate a number of volunteers, including a 32-year-old female.
01:16Now, thankfully, there were no injuries reported.
01:20As for the man, he was arrested yesterday.
01:22He's been charged with intimidation and is due to face court in June.
